Orangetheory Fitness Introduce
Hello, New York! In a city where fitness options are plentiful, finding a gym that offers a truly effective, engaging, and science-backed workout can be a game-changer. If you're in Queens, particularly in the Flushing area, we want to introduce you to Orangetheory Fitness. This is not a traditional gym where you're left to your own devices; it's a dynamic studio built on a unique and proven concept: high-intensity interval training guided by heart rate zones. The goal is to help you maximize your workout, achieve visible results, and feel energized long after you leave the studio. As a professional content writer specializing in local business descriptions, I'm here to provide a factual and detailed overview of what makes Orangetheory Fitness Flushing a worthwhile choice for your health and wellness journey.
The core philosophy of Orangetheory Fitness is centered on the "Orange Zone," a specific heart rate zone that triggers what's known as the "afterburn" effect, or EPOC (Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption). This means your body continues to burn calories at an accelerated rate for up to 24 hours after your workout. Each one-hour class is a professionally guided group personal training session that combines three key components: cardiovascular work on treadmills and rowing machines, and strength training on the floor. This structured approach ensures a full-body workout that is both efficient and effective. The coaches are there to guide you, provide form corrections, and keep you motivated. While the atmosphere may vary, the core workout concept remains consistent, providing a cool and effective way to get in shape. The workouts are designed to be challenging but adaptable, catering to a wide range of fitness levels.
Orangetheory Fitness Flushing is located at 37-12 Prince St, Flushing, NY 11354, USA. Situated in a vibrant and bustling neighborhood of Queens, the studio is accessible and convenient for local residents. The location on Prince Street makes it easy to find and integrate into your daily routine. While a review mentions the staff may not be as friendly as other locations, the studio's amenities are a positive point. The gym is noted for having a spacious workout room, with dedicated areas for treads, rowers, and the strength floor, ensuring there is enough room for everyone to train comfortably.
Orangetheory Fitness focuses on a single, high-quality service: Group Personal Training.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been coming to this studio since they opened post-2020. There are lockers, two restrooms and two shower rooms. The workout room is spacious enough with a row of treads on the right, strength floor on the left, and rowers in the back. The staff are ok, not as friendly as my LI studio front desk, but usually there’s only one person there. What would make this a five star studio? 1) More strength classes would be great since the weekend 8am strength 50 class is always waitlist only, and the 9:15 and 10:30 regular classes aren’t full. 2) the coaches are fine/good. Compared to some Long Island studios though, those coaches prep their playlist for the Push and All Out intervals and really cheer us on. So it feels like those coaches are putting in some prep and it doesn’t feel like I’m just running/ lifting to whichever playlist is on with no beat change.I don’t go enough to warrant my monthly membership so I’ll switch to a class pack. I texted the studio and got the cancellation form quickly. No problems there compared to some other reviews.
April 19 · OliviaPros: Cool workoutsCons:1)The staff have weird attitudes; most can be standoffish and some of the instructors can be condescending. One instructor called me out for choosing a lighter weight despite me telling their team of my shoulder injuries.2)After deciding that otf wasn’t a good fit for my schedule and wellness interests, it took roughly two months to cancel; three staff members told me different things during the process. Also, Kali @ the front desk was incredibly rude when I successfully canceled my membership—she brushed off the aforementioned cancelation issues, wouldn’t answer my questions directly, invited me to start another membership (laughable), then hung up while i was speaking.3)The gym is overpriced for my personal interests (e.g. ~$104/ month for 4 classes). And with the added drama from the staff, I don’t regret leaving one bit! Not in this economy lol.—I called back to request the cancellation paperwork and to have my info removed. Sam, one of the instructors and managers, reassured me that my payment info was removed and that she’ll email the paperwork. (Will update here as necessary.) However, apparently my health data—including info from that heart rate tracker—is in the company’s “global system,” which they can’t access from the facility. That request requires outreach to corporate 😵💫
March 20 · CamilleI've been attending since day 1 and enjoy the classes and coaches here. Bathrooms and showers are clean and spacious. I was pregnant in 2023 and coaches were knowledgeable with modified strength work outs that was still challenging and safe for my pregnancy. I was able to attend classes up until the week of my labor & delivery.I'm happy with the recent update to their schedule. They now offer strength/tread only classes mid week.I park at the municipal lot on Prince St for free when I used to attend the 6am class. You just have to leave the studio right away and get to the car by 7am-ish. Now I attend the 8:30am weekday class and pay $3.50 for parking at the municipal lot and there are usually a lot of spots open at 8:20am. Otherwise Tangram has parking underground for $7 (Mon-Thur) or $10 (Fri-Sun) for up to 3 hours. If you're the type that needs group class motivation and some push, but not scary yelling push, then this place is for you. You get your cardio (jog, run, or power walk) and strength done within the hour and can go about your day.
July 01 · Amy JeanI was late once for ten minutes and Kendall, who was at the front desk at the time (not the coach teaching the class) didn’t let me go in. I thought it was up the the coaches discretion whether I can go and attend class if I was a few minutes late (this is what they told me when I signed up). It’s not like I’m interrupting anyone else and was my last class and I was very upset about this. When Kendall is coaching, she also blasts the music extremely loud it gives me feels like we’re at a club instead of the gym. I haven’t been here for a while and was originally thinking about going back but wouldn’t want to deal with Kendall again. She’s not the most considerate coach. All the other ones are great
June 22 · Jenn CBeen here for over a year and this studio has the most loud and obnoxious clique ever that it feels quite annoying to a certain extent. They have no regards or respect for other members who work out at the studio. It was not like this when I first started working out here but I dread coming in to workout now bc it doesn’t feel like a real community that orange theory promotes but more so of whether or not you belong to a clique at the Flushing studio.
