Orangetheory Fitness Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For fitness enthusiasts across the South Bay area of Southern California, Orangetheory Fitness in Redondo Beach offers a unique and scientifically-designed approach to group exercise. While classified generally as a 'gym' and 'fitness center,' this location specializes in heart-rate-based interval training, setting it apart from traditional weight rooms. The method is rooted in the physiological theory of Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption, or EPOC, commonly known as the 'afterburn' effect. This science-backed, one-hour, full-body workout is engineered to elevate your metabolism, resulting in continued calorie burning for up to 24 hours after you leave the studio.
The Redondo Beach studio provides a high-energy, community-focused environment where every workout is coach-led and structured to maximize efficiency. Classes are divided into blocks that cycle participants through cardiovascular training on treadmills (or bikes/striders) and WaterRowers, alongside strength and functional training on the weight floor. The continuous variation in the daily workouts ensures that your muscles are constantly challenged, preventing plateaus and keeping your routine engaging—a key factor praised by local members. This combination of variety, science, and expert guidance makes Orangetheory Fitness a premier choice for those in California seeking measurable results in endurance, strength, and power.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Workout here and you’ll see results! The workouts change EVERY day to keep things interesting and your muscles don’t get used to the same exercises. The coaches are motivating and push you to challenge yourself so you are continuously getting stronger and faster. I love being able to review my stats after class with their system and compare notes with my friend from out of state (the same daily workout is done all over the world!).During the lockdown, Orangetheory posted free daily workouts to do at home and they even set up a location for outdoor workouts. The staff at Redondo are super nice and will try their best to take care of your needs rather than being sticklers. The coaches give us personalized attention. It’s a smaller studio but it feels like a family! They often have new members specials - check them out!PS - I’ve only been coming 2-3x a week and do not much else (and have a desk job) and it’s still effective enough to keep me tight and trim’
September 30 · Joanna ChisholmPretty rough experience at this orange theory. The workout plan itself was great, but I can’t imagine coaches who could care less. He spent most of his time either on his phone or hanging out with the front desk staff, flirting and even taking photos of her posing on the weight rack, while in the middle of class. They were just mailing it in - singing off tune to the music while on the microphone, even humming different songs while other must was playing, while on his microphone… just not a care in the world. Didn’t help anyone, didn’t walk around and help people with their form, barely managed to keep the stopwatch on time, talking to himself in weird voices… clearly didn’t care to be there. I’ve had nothing but great experiences everywhere but here - very strange experience. I don't have super high expectations, like I get this isn't the greatest job in the world, but it would go a long way to have coaches who care at least a little bit.
December 23 · Lucas DillowI’m an unlimited member. I’ve been to serval orange theories. The front desk was very nice and welcoming, however the instructor was not good. He was texting on his phone majority of the class, his playlist was horrible & he was not engaged during the class. He would start you off on your blocks but then go on his phone majority of the block. He was not motivating at all. I’ve had some great instructors this one seemed to be bored of his job.
January 14 · April JonesFirst time at Orangetheory. Wow! Could not even imagine how great a workout I would have at this place. Everyone there was a regular and I was the new person. An old lady who used to be fit and is starting to get back into it. Isaac welcome to me in the group and I certainly felt like a regular. It's important to overcome intimidation early when you are in a new workout space. And Isaac made sure that happened quickly. The music was so great and there was game playing on parts of the circuit that made you forget you were tired. When I struggled with a few parts of the weight lifting, Isaac came over and gave me personal instruction. I had such a good workout and I was so excited after. Crazy thing but I was so pumped up I could not go to sleep until 3:00 a.m.. I cannot wait to do this workout again. It's great for a rainy days and really any day. I also am thrilled that I can go to other locations when I'm traveling. I'm a huge fan of Orangetheory. Give it a try and you'll be hooked.
February 01 · tania johnstone issaOrange Theory is efficient! In one hour I get a really great, full body workout with strength and cardio. It never feels boring either since the workout changes all the time within the format of using treadmill, rower, and floor/strength exercises. The coaches are well trained and always offer alternatives for people with physical limitations which is huge for someone like me who has arthritis in the knee from former soccer injury/surgery.
