Choosing a gym or fitness program is a personal decision that often involves weighing several factors. Orangetheory Fitness in Granger, Indiana, offers a structured and goal-oriented approach that may appeal to those who thrive in a guided group environment. The science-backed method, centered on heart rate zones, provides a clear and measurable way to track progress, which can be highly motivating. For many, this structured program removes the guesswork from working out and provides a consistent, effective routine. The equipment is noted to be working well, which is a fundamental requirement for a good workout experience.
However, it is also important to consider the feedback from the community. Some members have noted concerns regarding customer service and the level of coaching provided. These are valid points that potential members should be aware of. The reviews mention a few specific instances of communication issues and dissatisfaction with the owner's professional conduct. This feedback highlights a potential inconsistency in the member experience, particularly regarding membership agreements and the level of personalized coaching for form and technique. While the program itself is scientifically structured, the quality of the in-studio experience, especially in terms of communication and coaching, is something to consider. Ultimately, for those who value the specific structure of the Orangetheory workout and are comfortable with the payment and membership model, it remains a popular choice for its unique approach to fitness.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Decided to give orange theory a try here in Indiana. I tried it in a different state before. I told the owner I tried it before and instead of telling me I couldn't have the free lesson he just charged my card. No issue with paying just the way he went about things. Overall very little coaching in the lesson. The owner as was indicated on other reviews was not very good or engaging and his behavior in this situation says it all. The class was fairly full and equipment was all working well. I probably wouldn't recommend it based on the owner and the minimal coaching you get in terms of form etc which is important to me.
August 13 · FMLA AcostaUnbelievably awful customer service and extremely unprofessional owner.I was pitched a sign up promo where you receive the first month free in exchange for purchasing a HR monitor. I explained to the front desk rep that I was in the middle of an out of state move and only wanted to join for a single month. She said unfortunately it is a two month minimum so I would be able to submit cancellation paperwork right away but will have to pay for one additional month before the cancellation would be processed. She confirmed two payments would be processed over that time. The first for $127 for the sign up HR monitor and a second payment for $159 for the second month of membership. I thought about it and decided that was alright as it would give me a little consistency in my new location. She sent me cancellation paperwork the same day I signed up which I filled out and returned. As I approached my move, and the second billing date, I asked the front desk to please confirm my cancellation paperwork had been processed. They looked and said they had received it but no one flagged it for processing yet (which they admitted was an error on their part) but they would do it that day. I later received a phone call stating I had one more payment as it was actually a 3 month minimum I signed up for. I explained that I did not and gave detail to the conversation I had with the initial employee that signed me up. The employee I was currently speaking with said he would look into this and get back to me. I received a second phone call from this same person where he apologized on behalf of the studio and said that was a miscommunication on OTF’s part, they would take care of processing the cancelation right away and they were sorry for the inconvenience. I was happy they did the right thing by honoring what was pitched to me by their employee. The next day however, I received a third phone from the same employee I had spoken to the day prior who expressed that he spoke to the owner again and the owner changed his mind and that a third payment would actually need to be collected. I asked how something could change over night and expressed how unprofessional it was that the initial communication I received when I signed up was incorrect and then this wildly inconsistent communication I was receiving now. I have now been trying to connect with the owner for 3+ weeks to discuss what happened and hopefully sort things out. I have yet to receive a phone call or direct email communication from him, rather he has had a summer employee who had no knowledge of the situation email me. On top of this, I have not even received a phone call back from any employee.I am truly flabbergasted at how unprofessional and cowardly the owner has been through this entire experience. He is someone I met and saw in the studio a number of times over the month I was there so I know this is not a matter of time or access being an issue to simply give me a call to discuss what happened, why he changed his mind and how he could go back on his word. There is a critical communication breakdown happening from leadership down to employees. Clear under training of front desk employees along with communication breakdowns amongst employees. Not a good way to run a business to hide from addressing your short comings head on.
June 06 · Lauren BennerWhen I signed up for my first free class I was nervous; I hadn’t worked out for over a year, I thought the class would be difficult and not something I really liked, and I thought the coaches would be scary. I have been a member for a month now and I am SO glad I showed up to that first class. Every person I have met there from then owner, Roger, to all the coaches, the front desk, and the other members have been great! The staff remembers your name, the coaches help with modifications if needed, and they keep you motivated through the workout with good music and their fun personalities. Also, I would NEVER push myself this hard on my own. I feel great, my clothes fit better, and I have even lost almost 8lbs in 30 days. I can’t recommend OT Granger enough!
April 07 · Kelsey BallardOne of the things I like about Orangetheory is the group setting. There is something about everyone working together to better themselves I find motivating. I also enjoy the coaches, as they bring a positive and encouraging attitude to every workout. Lastly, I am loving the results of my workouts. My clothes fit better, I feel more comfortable in my skin, and I have more energy to do the things I love.
January 25 · Jim CunninghamI love this gym! The scheduled workouts hold me accountable and help me hit my fitness goals. I've lost 30lbs. The coaches and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you're ready to get better results out of your workout, this is the place!
