Orangetheory Fitness Introduce
For those in the Delaware area, particularly in and around Bear, finding a fitness routine that is both effective and engaging can be a challenge. Orangetheory Fitness, located at 46-48 Fox Hunt Dr, offers a unique solution that goes beyond a standard gym. This is not a place where you simply hop on a treadmill and lift weights on your own. Instead, Orangetheory provides a structured, coach-led, full-body workout that combines interval training with science-backed principles. The goal is to get your heart rate into the "Orange Zone" to achieve what they call the "Afterburn" effect, where your body continues to burn calories long after the workout is over.
The core of the Orangetheory experience is its signature workout, which is divided into three main components: treadmill, rowing, and strength training. Participants wear heart rate monitors, and their performance is displayed on screens throughout the studio, providing real-time feedback on their effort and progress. This data-driven approach allows for a highly personalized experience, as the coaches can guide each member to adjust their intensity to their individual fitness level. A customer review highlights this positive aspect, noting that the "coaches are welcoming and great at leading the class, helping with adjustments as needed, and encouraging participants." This level of support and guidance is a major factor in the gym's appeal and is a key differentiator from other fitness models.
While the workout itself is a primary draw, the community and atmosphere at Orangetheory Fitness are also highly valued by its members. One reviewer, who has been a member for over a year and has visited studios in multiple states, expressed gratitude that the Bear location is their "home studio," a testament to the friendly staff and positive environment. The camaraderie among members and the motivation provided by the coaches create a supportive space where people can push their limits and achieve results. The high-energy, group-based format makes the workout feel less like a chore and more like a team effort. This sense of belonging is a powerful motivator for long-term consistency.
However, it is important for prospective members to be fully informed about the business's policies. As noted in a critical review, there have been complaints regarding the membership cancellation process, with one customer expressing frustration over "misleading sales pitch" and difficulties with the cancellation protocol. This feedback points to the necessity of carefully reading and understanding the membership agreement before signing up. While many gyms have similar policies, it is crucial to be aware of the specific terms, such as the required written notice and any associated timelines, to ensure a smooth experience. The gym does require a membership to access its services, and accepts credit cards and debit cards for payment. For those in Delaware considering this fitness model, a thorough understanding of all aspects of the membership is highly recommended.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1***BAD BUSINESS***Misleading sales pitch! I was told that I could cancel if i wanted. There is a cancelation option within the App, but if you select it, it advises you to call the office. When you call the office, they inform you that you are required to send them a cancellation request in writing and then entertain multiple canned responses. The response i received stated my contract was for 3 months, of which i paid, and that I could cancel and my last payment would be April 26, 2025. Yet, today they charged me AGAIN!! I sent another email requesting a refund immediately. I will be submitting a dispute charge with my financial institution and contacting the BBB! This is outrageous that they attempt to force you into continuing to pay for a membership that you DO NOT WANT! Do not give these people your credit card information!
May 27 · Shawnda GatesStudio is clean, staff is friendly, coaches are welcoming and great at leading the class, helping with adjustments as needed, and encouraging participants. Have been a member for over a year and have visited studios across multiple states. Glad this one is my home studio.
January 03 · KrystleI absolutely love this gym. They are super friendly and very helpful. Please come by and say Chantell recommended.
August 18 · Chantell StokesI have been at Orange Theory Bear since July 2020 and I LOVE it! I am editing this review (April 2021) beacuse of how amazing this studio is!The coaches really care and help you during each class. I love how they are always cheering us on and helping us to achieve our best. They instruct you on the correct/safe way to do different exercises and take the time to help you.The Bear location is huge, which is great for when you have to switch stations. Everything is always super clean and I feel very comfortable going especially during the current climate. Each workout is challenging so you are constantly working to make yourself stronger, and build endurance. When I first began I could barely power walk a mile, now I jog/run a mile during each class and I was just able to complete my first 5 mile race! If you are looking for a positive environment to workout, where you are challenged and taught what to do this is the perfect place for you!
April 13 · AshleyStarted with the February special and have been hooked ! Really enjoy the pace and the workout . Emma is my favorite coach , her vibe is just top tier .
