Northwest Gymnastics Training Center (NGTC) Introduce
For parents and children in the Gresham, Oregon area, finding a sports complex that offers a unique blend of physical activity, structured learning, and fun can be a significant challenge. The Northwest Gymnastics Training Center (NGTC) stands out as a premier destination that provides all of this and more. As a dedicated gymnastics center, NGTC offers a wide range of programs designed to help children develop strength, coordination, flexibility, and confidence in a safe and professional environment. It's a place where kids can get their "wiggles out" and have a blast, while parents can rest assured that the activities are organized and led by experienced coaches. This article will provide a detailed look at what makes NGTC a top choice for the local community, from its diverse services to its commitment to providing a dynamic and engaging experience for children of all ages.
The core philosophy at NGTC is built on the idea that gymnastics is a foundation for lifelong fitness and discipline. The center's mission is to empower children with vision and grow their confidence through the art of gymnastics. This is achieved through a variety of programs tailored to different age groups and skill levels, from a "Wallaby Parent Tot Program" for the little ones to competitive and recreational programs for older children. The structured nature of the classes ensures that learning is progressive and consistent, helping kids to continuously improve and build new skills. The center is also highly regarded for its birthday parties, which are described by one happy parent as "organized" and a "great place to pick" because they are a structured activity that gets all the kids' energy out. The ability to book parties, special events, and even field trips makes NGTC a versatile hub for community and family activities, especially during the colder winter months when active indoor options are highly sought after in Oregon.
While NGTC is praised for its fun and well-organized activities, some customer reviews point to deeply concerning issues regarding management and customer service. One review describes a "deeply concerning incident" involving two individuals, identified as the owners, who were "extremely disrespectful and rude." The review alleges that the individuals were dismissive of a child's name and exhibited inappropriate behavior, even after being corrected by the parent and other witnesses. This experience was described as "upsetting and unacceptable," with the reviewer noting that other parents had shared similar stories of mistreatment. This feedback, while serious, offers a glimpse into the complexities of a business. It's a reminder for prospective clients to consider all aspects of a business, including its customer relations and management style, before making a commitment. While the positive review highlights the fun and organized nature of the events, the negative review points to a potential area of concern regarding the studio's overall atmosphere and how its leadership interacts with its community.
The studio's commitment to its programs and the physical benefits they offer is a significant draw for many. Gymnastics at NGTC is designed to increase flexibility, improve bone health through weight-bearing exercises, and build strength. These benefits are a major part of the curriculum, ensuring that children are not only having fun but also building a solid foundation for their physical development. The variety of programs, from "Pre-School Classes" to "Boys and Girls Recreational Programs" and the "Xcel Program," means there is a path for every child to explore gymnastics, regardless of their goals or experience level. The studio's ability to cater to a wide range of ages and interests, from toddlers to teenagers, makes it a true community resource for family fitness and fun. The positive feedback about the birthday parties, games, and castle forts shows that while the training is serious, the fun is taken just as seriously, which is a great combination for keeping kids engaged and excited about physical activity.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We have booked our last 2 birthday parties here and have always had a great time, my son wants to do it again this year. It’s a great place to pick because it is organized, accommodates a fair amount of kids, and it’s a structured activity that gets all their wiggles out. I enjoy it because my son has a winter birthday and there aren’t a lot of activities we can do that are active that time of year. My son says playing games and building castle forts are his favorite takeaways from being there. One of his friends even booked her party before we left for the day.
November 11 · jenny taylorI want to address a deeply concerning incident involving two individuals who were extremely disrespectful and rude. Throughout our interaction, I remained calm despite repeated disrespect. One of them mispronounced my son’s name, and when he kindly corrected her — while clearly wearing a name tag — she dismissively replied, “Whatever your name is.”I calmly reminded her of his name and asked that she not speak to him that way. Her response was, “I see tons of kids; I can’t remember every name.” My son even pointed to his name tag, but she continued to be dismissive. Her husband then referred to my child as “Red,” simply because he was wearing a red shirt.Other parents who witnessed the incident also spoke up and let them know their behavior was inappropriate, but the couple ignored everyone completely. After we left, several parents approached me and shared that this type of behavior is common from them — and some even withdrew their own children due to mistreatment. This experience was both upsetting and unacceptable. No child deserves to be treated with such disregard, especially in a setting that should be safe and respectful for all.it’s sad that this are the owners!!
June 22 · love ethioMy daughter had the best birthday experience! She said “I expected it to be very fun and it was even more fun than that!” Great coaches who set up for us and let the kids play.
July 26 · awick94I have had my daughter enrolled fo or about 1 year and she has learned so much at a young age. Very structured and well ran. Tina and the coaching staff are well trained, organized, and very friendly. Stern on the kids when needed to push them past barriers. Best place around and very good pricing
June 04 · Josh TraczynskiThe older woman who works there is very mean to the children. She's verbally abusive and yells at the children when they are learning new skills, shutting them down. I believe she's one of the managers, and whenever I had a question, she treated me like an idiot. My son worked hard but was squirrely, like many other 7-year-old boys, and she often highlighted his failures and refused him his end-of-practice sticker/stamp to publicly punish him. As a child development specialist and former gymnast, I would highly recommend that parents stay away from this gym and their training style.
