My Biomechanics specializes in highly personalized training, with a core focus on improving functional movement and addressing physical limitations. The services are not based on a broad menu of classes but on a targeted approach that is tailored to each individual.
Personal training: The primary service is one-on-one personal training. This includes an initial evaluation of your body's specific needs, followed by a customized program designed to improve movement, reduce pain, and build strength. Clients rave about trainer Mark Matsumoto's ability to identify and correct issues, as one review notes, "he evaluated what I needed and by the end I could already feel change."
Private lessons: The gym's model is based entirely on private lessons, ensuring that every client receives the full, undivided attention of their trainer. This focused approach allows for detailed instruction on proper form and technique, which is crucial for safety and effectiveness.
Online training (Super Hero Program): The gym offers an online training program called the "Super Hero Program." As one happy customer explains, this option provides an "extremely convenient" way to access expert guidance and personalized workouts, perfect for those with a busy schedule or who prefer to train remotely.
Functional Movement and Biomechanics: The training is based on the principles of biomechanics, which involves understanding how the body moves. This scientific approach helps clients improve their performance in everyday activities and sports, while also preventing pain and injury. As a client with a spinal fusion notes, Mark's knowledge of biomechanics has been "a great asset in how I train and live."
My Biomechanics stands out from other fitness centers in California due to its specialized focus, expert guidance, and unique training environment. These highlights are what make it a top choice for those with specific health and wellness goals.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Mark’s ability and talent as a trainer are apparent every time I walk into his gym. I could go on about how my knees and back feel better than they’ve felt in a while or how they don’t hurt after basketball or horseback riding. I could tell you about how clean his facility is , how well equipped he is, and how much effort he puts into making each experience better than the last.Instead I’ll tell you about his high standards and attention to detail. After our first session he evaluated what I needed and by the end I could already feel change. His last line that day was, “enjoy your body”, a line that stuck with me and I have been enjoying my body more and more after each session ever since.
June 16 · Chris RiosMark Matsumoto is the man to see if you need your body to perform better! He is a wealth of information when it comes to Biomechanics and has been a great asset in how I train and live with a spinal fusion in my mid back. Can't recommend enough and looking forward to my next session.I've been very happy utilizing the My Biomechanics Super Hero Program online. I wasn't sure if online training would work for me, but it's been extremely convenient with my current schedule. Thanks Mark for all the great work!
November 12 · Michael FlynnLike to start here - I never thought I would pay for a trainer. I've been working out for close to 20 something years now and I was happy with the results I had gotten so far. My fiancé told me about functional patterns and asked if I wanted to sign up for a trainer with her. Reluctantly I agreed and we began to see Mark. After my first session, I have never felt like I have ever trained so hard in such a short time. The release I felt throughout my entire body is incredible. I now understand so much more about my body and how it works thanks to Mark and his experience. I'm so grateful for what he offers. Along with the patience he has to be training someone like me who has been training incorrectly for some time. I recommend anyone no matter what level of capability to try this now. I've only been going 6 classes so far and my fiancé and I are already discussing signing up for another package. it's amazing
July 17 · Matthew NicholsGreat! Teacher Mark Matsumoto is patient, very knowledgeable, and makes sure that i was very comfortable when it was my first time in class. Being a new mom and all, i never knew how bad my joints were affected after giving birth. Yes lifting weights & strength conditioning is cool and all, but sometimes when we do it wrong out of accident, our bodies gotta pay for it. Injuries suck, and i can’t risk that being a busy mom that always gotta be on her feet. Thanks to Mark, for helping me see that there are in fact other ways of achieving my goals by still seeing the same good results, but in a safer way.
June 16 · ViviAn LeeMark has been training me for about a year and a half and has completely changed my level of fitness. I first met Mark at a MMA gym we both belong to and I was constantly getting hurt and struggling to keep up with the intensity. I mentioned to him that I was having chest pains as he was leaving and he recommended rolling out the lactic acid in my peck. After following his advice within an hour I had rid myself of a pain that plagued me during training for months. From there Mark has shown me in what ways I lacked functionality in my the way I move. He has since corrected an inbalance I had in my left side and helped to fix multiple injuries I've sustained from my MMA gym. Training with him and learning about Biomechanics has improved my movements in a way that has shown massively in my martial arts. I move more balanced and fluidly as well as a huge increase to my cardio. I was not someone with an athletic background and after just a year and a half I am now in much better shape than a majority of my teammates. On top of that, the environment and vibe of the gym is very enjoyable and always puts me in a good mood. Mark is one of the most laid back people I've ever met but he knows how to push you in the ways you need.
