Currently restraining the urge to use vulgarity... We had been utilizing the Little Sprouts program to socialize our son with local children. We just received a notice stating that, due to the fact that we do not live in Hanover, we will be losing our rec pass. I work in Hanover and live only 15 minutes from Montpelier. An entire nearby community has just been given a royal middle finger by the Hanover government, who unapologetically states in their notice that, "We know this letter may be upsetting to you but please know that our priority is to the Hanover County residents and taxpayers." The nearby communities are so far removed from urbanity that Montpelier is likely the closest location for most of our children to safely play. To ostracize the locals is wretched and I hope the government peons who made this decision find themselves in the unemployment line in the near future.Yes. I am bitter. - X Devine

Montpelier Recreation Center and Library Introduce

For residents of Virginia, particularly in Hanover County, finding a community space that combines fitness, recreation, and educational resources is a significant benefit. A facility that can serve multiple purposes—from a place to work out to a spot for learning—becomes a central hub for local life. In a rural setting where such amenities might be sparse, a new, well-equipped center can be a game-changer for the entire community. Hanover County has recently unveiled such a facility, a testament to what can be achieved when a community works together to build a space that meets diverse needs.

The mission is to provide a safe and affordable space for a variety of programs and services, catering to individuals of all ages and interests. While the facility is a valuable resource, it is important for potential users to understand that its primary focus is on serving the residents and taxpayers of Hanover County.
