Features / Highlights
Mind and Body Vitality's primary highlights stem from its specialized expertise, women-centric focus, and the deeply personalized nature of its instruction.
Key features and highlights include:
- Specialization in Integrated Women's Health and Pain Alleviation: The studio is exceptionally skilled in addressing physical pain and movement issues, often serving as the perfect transition from formal physical therapy. Instructors, like Lauren, have a proven track record in helping clients with chronic pain and limited mobility (shoulder, hip, back, neck) and those recovering post-partum.
- Highly Skilled and Experienced Practitioner: The principal instructor, Lauren, is a Certified Pilates Instructor, a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, and a Postural Restoration (PRI) Enthusiast. This combined experience, which includes 15 years in physical therapy, Pilates, and PRI, allows for a truly integrated and effective healing approach.

What is Worth Choosing
Mind and Body Vitality represents an exceptional choice for North Carolina residents who prioritize quality over convenience, and specialized care over general fitness. While many commercial gyms and group fitness centers offer Pilates, very few provide the level of clinical expertise, personalization, and integrated wellness coaching found here. The greatest value is in the therapeutic benefit. Clients are not simply signing up for a standard class; they are enrolling in a process that directly addresses chronic pain, limited range of motion, and post-partum recovery with a certified expert who has a diverse and extensive background in physical therapy and Postural Restoration.
Choosing this studio is an investment in long-term health and autonomy. The commitment to providing at-home plans and focusing on mind-body integration means clients leave feeling not only stronger and more energized but also more educated and confident in their ability to maintain their physical health independently. For women in the Raleigh area, particularly mothers, the studio offers a safe, dedicated, and deeply knowledgeable resource for healing and building a robust foundation for life's challenges, making it an invaluable part of the local health and wellness landscape.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Words cannot express how great Breath in Motion pilates is. Lauren is super knowledgeable and very dedicated. She makes every minute count. Not only is she a fantastic Pilates teacher, she is also great at trouble shooting pain and alleviating movement issues. She is enthusiastic, dedicated and fun. When I began working with Lauren, I was having shoulder pain and my range of motion was very limited. She was able to help me through it with some very targeted exercises, breath work and personalized attention. When I walk in for a session, she knows exactly what I need to work on without me even saying a word. She makes exercise fun. I cannot recommend her enough!
July 24 · Dorothy ColemanPilates with Lauren is the perfect bridge between physical therapy and pilates/ exercise on your own. She is knowledgeable, personable and adapts each session to your current needs. Her techniques and exercises focus on breath work, decompression, stretching, strengthening and everyday movements for increased function.Having experienced chronic hip, back and neck pain while recovering postpartum, I made great progress with my strength and mobility. She educated me along the way too! She even went above and beyond to create an “at home exercise plan” to continue to build my independence and strength. Thank you for all your help Lauren!
November 01 · Amanda MezzatestaAfter 2 herniated discs and 2 C-sections, Lauren was able to put my body back together.I was suffering from low back pain, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, and I’d seen and tried everything in town (physical therapy, cortisone shots, dry needling, chiropractor, trigger point therapy, etc.) Her unique approach is a hybrid of several methods of physical therapy and Pilates, which goes to show how knowledgeable she is. Lauren was the first practitioner whose approach finally clicked with my body. For instance, she started with retraining me how to breathe. Through a series of low impact exercises, we would release and activate certain muscles, as opposed to passively stretching them. We began slowly incorporating more strength training exercises, so that my sessions with her became a perfect balance of rehab and a workout.More than anything, I got an education. I gained greater body awareness, and I know better than before how my body functions, so that when I feel aches and pains, I know what I did and how to address it. She is worth every penny. Thank you, Lauren!
July 28 · Emily DayLauren is passionate about her practice, innovative with her clients, and balances being a mama herself while making herself and those around her better!
