Manhattan Plaza Health Club Introduce
Finding a health club in New York City that offers more than just a place to lift weights can feel like a search for a hidden gem. Manhattan Plaza Health Club (MPHC), located in the vibrant Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, is one such rarity. It’s a comprehensive wellness center that goes above and beyond the typical gym experience. This club has cultivated a unique and energetic atmosphere, where fitness is not just a routine but an enjoyable part of your day. With a diverse range of facilities and a friendly community, MPHC offers a refreshing approach to health and wellness, providing an urban oasis where you can escape the city's hustle and focus on your physical and mental well-being. From the moment you enter, you'll notice a distinct vibe—a space that feels both professional and inviting, where members are genuinely happy to be.
The philosophy behind Manhattan Plaza Health Club is to provide a holistic and engaging environment that caters to a wide variety of fitness interests. It's not just about one type of workout; it's about providing multiple avenues for members to stay active and healthy. The club’s unique layout and extensive amenities set it apart from its competitors, creating a destination where you can swim, climb, play tennis, and work out, all under one roof. The staff are known for being incredibly helpful and friendly, contributing to the club's welcoming atmosphere. As one member shared, the staff are "super helpful" and the vibe is "unique," with "lots of energy and fun to work out in the gym." This positive culture is a significant draw for many New Yorkers who are looking for a fitness community rather than just a place to train. The club’s commitment to cleanliness is also a point of pride, with multiple staff members consistently cleaning the locker rooms and other areas, ensuring a hygienic and pleasant experience for all.
However, it is worth noting that some members have experienced issues, such as ongoing renovations that were not communicated, leading to noise and a temporary lack of certain amenities like the hot tub. The club's multi-level layout, while offering a variety of spaces, can also be a challenge for some, as navigating between floors may involve multiple flights of stairs. A member with bad knees noted this challenge, especially when trying to reach the gym floor. Despite these occasional inconveniences, the club maintains a high standard of service and a focus on providing excellent facilities, and many members feel the overall value and unique offerings outweigh any temporary disruptions.
Manhattan Plaza Health Club is centrally located at 482 W 43rd St 2nd floor, New York, NY 10036, USA. This prime location in Hell's Kitchen makes it highly accessible for people living and working in Midtown Manhattan, Chelsea, and the surrounding areas. Its proximity to major transportation hubs, including the Port Authority Bus Terminal and the Times Square-42nd Street subway station (serving the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, N, Q, R, W, and S lines), makes it an incredibly convenient option for a wide range of commuters. The club's address also places it near major avenues and streets, so getting there on foot or by bus is straightforward. For individuals with mobility needs, the club is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and wheelchair-accessible restrooms. This commitment to accessibility ensures that all members can comfortably and safely enjoy the facilities. While some of the gym facilities are located on different floors, which might require navigating stairs, the overall accessibility of the main entrance and key amenities is a significant advantage. The location is a perfect blend of urban convenience and a neighborhood feel, situated in an area that is a hub for both commercial and residential life. This blend allows members to easily fit a workout into their daily routine, whether it’s a quick session during a lunch break or a full-fledged workout after work.
The club's location in this bustling part of the city provides a dynamic backdrop for your fitness journey. You're never far from a great post-workout meal or a quick errand. The accessibility from multiple subway lines and bus routes is a major plus, eliminating the stress of a long commute and allowing you to maximize your time at the club. This ease of access is a key factor in why Manhattan Plaza Health Club is a popular choice for so many people.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Love this gym. The staff is great. They're super helpful. The equipment is awesome, and the members are friendly. It also has a very unique vibe. Lots of energy and fun to work out in the gym. There are multiple staff members constantly cleaning the locker room. Thank you!
July 19 · Dr. Dani StekelI joined a couple of months ago mainly for the indoor pool & hot tub. The place is under renovation without even mentioning that when I joined over the phone. Also the hot tub has not been working for over a month now. The front desk people don’t even greet you with a friendly hello or goodbye have a nice day. It would be nice if the staff would acknowledge you when you arrive & leave. The gym you have to walk down 3-4 flights of stairs to get to it & it’s not that big. Then have to walk back up 3-4 flights of stairs to get to the main entrance. I have bad knees which was the reason for joining the health club for the pool. The renovation is extremely loud & I have a horrible headache after leaving there. I was looking for something more relaxing & enjoyable. I’ll stay for another month or so then find somewhere else.
June 11 · Tracey SmithMPHC is a great gym that offers the best value for your fitness goals in the midtown area.Plenty of cardio equipment is on the Mezzanine level if you want to use treadmills, bikes, or ellipticals. Basement has a variety of weight training equipment to work on strengthening. First floor has a stretch room and a room for classes. There is also a large pool so you'll have access for swimming.Other gyms in the area are either overpriced or so crowded that you'll never get to use any equipment. I never felt this gym was too crowded, aside from right after New Year's when people make their resolutions that they will soon give up. Even after work during peak hours I still usually had access to several machines in the weight room which was great. Many classes are included with the membership which is a benefit. I enjoyed the Yoga classes and know people that spoke highly of the TRX classes. The instructors are knowledgeable and help you reach the maximum physical benefit. The staff is friendly and easy to talk to as well.If you need a gym in the midtown area, I highly recommend MPHC.
June 11 · Michael FNice enough gym, but they charged a $15 late fee for being 4 days late once in my 18 months of membership, and they claim they "can't do anything about it". Their payment declined notices are sent by a third party (CSI) that does not authenticate their email, so gmail and any other major provider treats them as spam and you'll never see them. MPHC does not take any responsibility or care. Most businesses will waive a one time fee like that, especially if you don't even get the email. This is poor customer service.
March 08 · Paul WinklerThis gym re-opened it’s facility recently along with the changing indoor Covid-19 restrictions measures since January 2022. What prompted joining was their unbeatable Membership Special Promotion that was more promotional over many of the higher end luxury health clubs that do have swimming pools included in their facilities along with memberships. These of course are ones in NYC, like the YMCA, or Equinox, etc. Now, the better half of having this type of membership is that it simply was affordable and that there were group classes offered such as Yoga, TRX classes, Pilates, and Aérobics. The facility also has a steam-room and sauna. Both very clean and very spacious spaces for more than five individuals seated at one time. Besides its convenience by location just off of 42nd Street & Times Square, the distance to the subway is relatively quick and easy. One can find the staffing very awesome and honestly so Uber Friendly and competent! That’s hard to beat. Often enough it’s whenever we need something done or someone to talk to that sometimes will make the difference. I’ve been at places like being at the former NYHRC (New York Health & Racquet Club), where it was awfully dysfunctional and ruder. Nice, but not nice.(Pre-Covid.) Otherwise, for a place to go to, to focus on losing the extra-added baggage, the weighted gainsay, and trying to keep up « The Skinny » like with the sexier models around, doing the same—the club caters to that too. Competition is never easy staying fit. Yet, a pleasure when ‘body-shaming’ isn’t obstructive or in the way or too obvious to contend with either being there to shower or to workout at any given moment or by anything else like that more or less. It’s been nevertheless a uniquely attractive and superb modernized sensation somewhat comparable to Equinox, in some instances. Reaching that level that runs evenly even through certain limitations. Having had really quite an exceptional experience with the group classes, along with meeting many other members who were as surprisingly warmer and more welcoming than imagined no different than my University online course classes were as well is an added bonus, clearly. Insofar as the noted weekly schedules, found online too, the MPHC offers enough to satisfy everyone’s palate. Younger or older. Physically speaking, positively perfect. No complaints whatsoever. Great relaxing atmosphere. Excellent physical benefits, détente and ambiance. And administration. Less negativity all around and more people to engage in socially speaking. For a health club of this size comparable to some, for these reasons by example, it’s ampler and greatly accommodating. Definitely worth one’s time, effort, and money spent on working on something highly beneficial. Regardless of an age or individual disposition. Truly amazing how it will garner people from all walks of life here in every direction.
