Our focus at Mōra Yoga is on providing a diverse range of services that cater to the full spectrum of well-being, from physical movement to emotional and creative expression. We are committed to creating a holistic and multi-faceted approach to health.
Our services include:
Group Lessons: We offer a variety of group yoga classes designed to accommodate different levels and intentions. Our group sessions provide a wonderful opportunity to practice in community, drawing on the collective energy of the space while still receiving individual attention from our world-class instructors.
Trauma-Informed Yoga: This specialized practice is at the heart of our mission. Our instructors are trained to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can reconnect with their bodies in a gentle, empowering way. We use careful language and offer choices to help participants feel in control of their experience, making it a truly healing space.
Yoga for Mental Health: We understand the powerful link between movement and mental wellness. Our classes are specifically designed to help reduce stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression, providing tools for self-regulation and emotional balance both on and off the mat.
Ecstatic Dance: This is a free-form, expressive movement practice that allows you to release and connect with your body's innate wisdom without any set choreography. It's a joyful and liberating way to move, shake off tension, and find a sense of release and freedom.
Art Journaling: Beyond the physical practice, we encourage creative expression as a form of self-care. Our art journaling sessions provide a space to explore your thoughts and emotions through visual art, offering a quiet and contemplative practice to complement your physical well-being.
What truly sets Mōra Yoga apart is our commitment to a deeply human and compassionate approach to wellness. We have thoughtfully incorporated unique features to ensure that every visitor feels respected, comfortable, and truly cared for.
Our highlights include:
Consent and Wellness Cards: A groundbreaking feature in our studio, these cards empower you to communicate your needs. You can choose a "Yes" card to indicate that you are open to hands-on assists from the instructor or a "No" card if you prefer to be left to your own practice. This simple but powerful tool ensures that your boundaries are honored throughout the class, making you feel completely safe and in control.
Healing Atmosphere: Our space is designed to be instantly welcoming and cozy. We have created an environment that feels more like a warm hug than a sterile studio, with comfortable amenities and a tranquil ambiance that encourages you to unwind the moment you step inside.
Delicious Treats and Comforts: We believe that wellness extends beyond the mat. Our "cozy corner" offers a selection of nourishing snacks, soothing teas, and books for you to enjoy after class. This dedicated space encourages community and conversation, allowing you to extend your relaxation and connect with fellow practitioners.
Lavender-Filled Stars: A signature touch that our students adore, these small, precious lavender-filled stars are given out during savasana (final relaxation). They are placed on your eyes or chest to enhance the calming and restorative effects of your final moments of class, adding a gentle, sensory layer to your practice.
Empathetic and World-Class Teachers: Our instructors are not only highly skilled but also incredibly warm, kind, and empathetic. They are dedicated to meeting you where you are on your journey, offering guidance with a compassionate and supportive approach that makes every class feel special and personal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Truly a yoga experience like no other!! I felt so safe, held, and supported. They offer delicious treats and little comforts I’ve never seen anywhere else. Consent card and wellness cards. And the teachers are so empathetic and world class. Can’t wait to go back! ⭐️💫
April 09 · SandyMost healing space I have ever found in NYC. The vibes inside are instantly welcoming, all the teachers are incredibly kind and supportive and warm and will make you feel right at home. The cozy corner offers snacks, tea and books where you can continue to unwind after class and create more community by having a space to talk and hang out. So far feels like the vibe of people who come here tend to be as warm and welcoming as the teachers so it really is lovely to hang out. The classes have been very oriented toward meeting my body where it is today, rather than pushing myself to the limit. It is a very gentle and safe energy that has been helping me tune into and trust myself. I also really appreciate that they have YES/NO cards to consent for hands on corrections that you can change any time which makes me feel empowered to decide for myself throughout class if I want to be touched or not. Also, the lavender filled stars they give for relaxing breathing exercises are precious. Can't recommend this place enough ❤️🌟🌹
April 09 · Alexandria RiesbergMora yoga has the most SAFE, COZY, WELCOMING energy of any studio I have tried. ✨Their classes are truly unique and such a great gift to give yourself. (Also insane value for price at just $15 a class)
April 09 · Bridget BruggemanMora yoga is offering a type of yoga so deeply needed in the local community and beyond! The team here is leading the way in the trauma informed / somatic movement space. I cannot recommend it enough! Every single teacher will not only make you feel supported during class but will connect with you individually so you immediately feel a part of the community. I feel so lucky to be the herbalist that supplies the herbal tea served after class!!
May 14 · kaela glennMōra Yoga—new studio offering mindful, soothing and invigorating yoga lead by creative, passionate people leaning into emotional and mental health and healing.Anthea and Jackie led a beautiful class together this morning: i came in mostly nerves and left half-nerves, half the ability to be anything but that miserable. And that type of change is a Night and Day one.Jackie’s cheerful energy and Anthea’s serenity and focus on personal intentions made for a wonderful combo.I recommend for all skill levels!Come check it out-especially as the classes have yet to grow super large, because what you request will be taken into account.Skillful teachers. Spiritual air to the joint. A blanketed journal corner if you’re feelin’ like writing, or drawing on textured paper with colored pencils. You’ll see me practicing here again and again.
