Life Time Introduce
For many New Yorkers, finding a gym that fits into their busy urban lifestyle is a top priority. Life Time, located at 62 Cooper Square in the heart of New York City, stands out as a comprehensive fitness destination. This facility is more than just a place to lift weights; it’s a full-service center that caters to a wide array of fitness interests and needs. Whether you're a dedicated yogi, a high-intensity cyclist, or someone looking to build strength, Life Time offers a diverse range of programs to support your health and wellness goals.
Life Time's offerings are extensive, making it a versatile choice for individuals and families alike. The gym provides a wide selection of workout options, from traditional resistance training and strength training to specialized classes. The presence of a dedicated Pilates studio, a yoga studio, and a weightlifting area ensures that members have access to a variety of specialized environments for their workouts. The ability to engage in different types of physical activity all under one roof is a significant convenience, especially in a city where space and time are valuable commodities.
A standout feature of this particular Life Time location is its history. As one customer review pointed out, the gym used to be a New York Racquet Club, and this history may contribute to its unique character. Its convenient location near Astor Place is also a major plus, making it a viable option for many who live or work in the downtown Manhattan area.
However, it is worth noting that a customer review mentioned this New York City location is smaller in size compared to other Life Time facilities. While this might be a consideration for some, it doesn’t detract from the quality of the amenities provided. The review highlights the presence of a sauna in the shower area and notes that the typical members are younger, generally in their twenties to late thirties. The reviewer also found it unusual that free access to massage guns is not provided, requiring a coach’s assistance to use one. These are small details that can be important to potential members when making a decision.
One long-time member, who has been with the gym since 2019, shared a positive perspective. This member praised the wonderful customer service and commented that the gym does not feel as crowded as some others claim in reviews. The reviewer’s perspective suggests that the gym's size does not necessarily lead to overcrowding and that the staff is attentive. This positive feedback from a consistent user can be a strong indicator of the gym's day-to-day operational quality.

What is worth choosing
Life Time in New York City is a compelling choice for many reasons, beginning with its comprehensive and varied offerings. The fact that it houses a full gym, indoor cycling studio, yoga studio, and Pilates studio under one roof is a major advantage, eliminating the need to have multiple memberships for different activities. This integration of services is particularly valuable for New Yorkers who prioritize efficiency and convenience. The availability of online classes further enhances this flexibility, allowing members to maintain their fitness routine even when they can't make it to the gym.
The gym's commitment to accessibility is another strong point. The presence of wheelchair-accessible features throughout the facility demonstrates a commitment to being an inclusive space for all. This is an important consideration for many individuals and speaks to the gym's modern approach to service.
Furthermore, the inclusion of a sauna is a significant benefit for recovery and relaxation. After a tough workout, having a space to unwind can make a huge difference in the overall gym experience. The availability of Wi-Fi also adds to the convenience, whether you're streaming a workout, catching up on emails, or simply listening to a podcast.
While a reviewer noted that this location is smaller than other Life Time branches, the long-term member's review suggests that this doesn't lead to overcrowding. The friendly customer service and great atmosphere are qualities that can be more valuable than sheer size. The gym’s central location in Manhattan, just around the corner from Astor Place, also makes it an exceptionally convenient choice for those in a vibrant and bustling part of the city.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been a lifetime member since 2019 at sky right before Covid started, and this location has been great since it opened. Customer service is wonderful and it doesn’t get crowded like others are claiming in the reviews. If you didn’t like how the gym looked when you did a walk through why the F did you sign up and pay? They didn’t force you lol people are ridiculous if it doesn’t have a pool then go to the one that does a have pool simple.
June 24 · Mahendra BachhuIn general, this New York City location of Lifetime Fitness is smaller in size compared to most of their facilities. It includes amenities like a sauna in the shower area. The members who frequent this gym tend to be younger, typically in their twenties to late thirties. Unlike some other branches, they don't provide free access to massage guns; you need to request a coach to assist you with it, which I find quite unusual. Interestingly, this gym used to be a New York Racquet Club, and it's conveniently located just around the corner from Astor Place.
October 22 · Sheng CGym has turned into a public bathroom for MTA workers. You will see long lines of MTA busses outside, and MTA workers coming in/out of the gym throughout the day to use the locker rooms/amenities. Desk attendants don’t care? Had to wait to use a toilet because of a queue of bus drivers is not what I expected for $329 gym.
May 28 · James CohaneOverall a pretty solid gymI had really big hopes considering this lifetime is the newest in Manhattan, so I was a bit bummed that it was a lot smaller than I expected. Everything feels a bit cramped and it feels more like a hotel gym. However all the machines and weights are brand new and the gym isn't crowded during peak hours right now. I came in at 7 and was able to get a great workout in without having to wait for anything. The front desk staff are really friendly and welcoming. One thing I do love is how accessible this lifetime is to get to using the subway. It's a great gym and perfect for when you want a change of scenery from the lifetimes at sky and 23rd street.
May 19 · Vignesh TheetharappanIf this is your home lifetime, it is worth no where for $300 / month. Place is small, machine is extremely limited. Only one of each machine and there no machines for a training, not a single machine to train abs is ridiculous. The men’s locker room is pretty big but the locker to everything ratio is off. There are numerous lockers but only 3 sinks and 3 shower room. I didn’t even bother to check out the sauna room because that place seem to be able to only fit 3 people at once. No spa pool. If the locker room is busy, good luck finding a machine upstairs. Some People on machines and benches doing everything but workout.
