Kinected Introduce
Welcome to Kinected, a unique and highly respected center for physical therapy and movement in the heart of New York City. This is a place that stands apart from the typical physical therapist's office. Kinected is more than just a clinic; it's a dedicated space where movement and medicine are seamlessly integrated to provide a holistic and comprehensive approach to healing and wellness. The team at Kinected is committed to helping New Yorkers overcome chronic pain and complex conditions by addressing the root cause of their issues, not just the symptoms. For those who have felt unheard or found little relief elsewhere, Kinected offers a new path forward with personalized, compassionate, and expert care.
The philosophy at Kinected is built on the principle that the body is a whole, interconnected system. They specialize in Functional Manual Therapy® (FMT), a highly specialized approach that combines hands-on techniques with movement re-education to restore function and reduce pain. This is a crucial distinction from traditional physical therapy mills, as it focuses on one-on-one, 60-minute sessions where the therapist is completely dedicated to you. This level of individualized attention ensures that your body is diagnosed and treated with the care and precision it deserves. As a testament to their unique approach, many clients, including those with challenging conditions like hEDS, POTS, and Endometriosis, report significant and sustained improvement, often after years of trying other treatments.
Kinected is conveniently located at 151 W 19th St, New York, NY 10011. This address places it in the vibrant and easily accessible Chelsea neighborhood, between 6th and 7th Avenues. The studio is situated on the second floor, providing a quiet and focused environment away from the street-level commotion. Its central location makes it highly convenient for those living or working in Manhattan. The clinic is just a short walk from several major subway lines, including the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, F, M, and L trains, ensuring a quick and efficient commute.
Accessibility is an important consideration for a place of healing, and Kinected has made a clear commitment to it. The facility features a wheelchair-accessible restroom, which demonstrates a thoughtful approach to accommodating clients with mobility needs. While the entrance and other specific accessibility features for the building are not explicitly detailed in the provided information, the clinic's location on the second floor suggests access via an elevator, which is typical for New York City commercial buildings. This makes it a feasible option for a wide range of individuals seeking their services.
Kinected offers a diverse and specialized range of services that go beyond conventional physical therapy, all aimed at comprehensive wellness.
Physical Therapy: This is the core service, specializing in the Functional Manual Therapy® (FMT) approach. Therapists provide one-on-one, hour-long sessions to diagnose and treat the root cause of issues, from chronic back pain to complex conditions like hEDS.
Pilates: As part of its holistic approach, Kinected integrates Pilates for long-term strength, function, and wellness. It is used as a structured way to build a foundation as clients move on from acute injuries. They offer both private and small group classes.
Craniosacral Therapy: This is a gentle, hands-on treatment for the whole body that addresses tension and imbalances that may be causing physical symptoms. It is a complementary service for those seeking a more integrated approach to their healing.
Teacher Training: Through the Kane School, Kinected offers comprehensive Pilates certification programs. These programs are highly regarded for their in-depth focus on anatomy and biomechanics, creating skilled instructors who can work with a variety of clients and conditions.
Online Classes and Onsite Services: Kinected offers both in-person and online services, providing flexibility and convenience for clients to continue their healing journey from home.
Kinected stands out with several key features and highlights that are frequently mentioned in customer reviews and public information, despite the negative feedback regarding the scholarship application process.
Expert Therapists: A major highlight is the exceptional expertise of the physical therapists, such as Maddie and Alison, who are described as "absolute wizards and experts in what they do." Their ability to provide immediate and sustained relief, even for complex conditions, is a core feature of the practice.
Compassionate and Comprehensive Care: The office is noted for its "compassionate and comprehensive treatment." A review highlights that they generously offered a sliding scale to a client to make treatment affordable, which is a rare and admirable quality in the New York medical scene. This shows a deep commitment to patient well-being beyond a transactional relationship.
Personalized Approach: The one-on-one, hour-long sessions are a significant advantage. This model ensures the physical therapist is completely focused on the individual, allowing for a deep understanding of their body and a tailored treatment plan, a key differentiator from many other clinics.
Education and Empowerment: Kinected's approach isn't just about treatment; it's about empowering the client. They provide "education about how my body works" and "manageable take-home exercises" that make a huge difference in a client's ability to support their own healing long-term.
Accessibility: The presence of a wheelchair-accessible restroom demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity, making the space welcoming to a wider range of clients.

Choosing Kinected is a powerful decision for anyone in New York seeking a physical therapist who is truly committed to their long-term health and well-being. While a customer review did express disappointment with the administrative side of the scholarship application process, it's crucial to look at the feedback related to the core services of the business—the physical therapy itself. Here, the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the "wizards and experts" who provide "immediate relief and education." This is a testament to the exceptional quality of care that Kinected delivers.
For those with chronic, hard-to-diagnose pain, the compassionate and comprehensive treatment is a game-changer. The story of a client with hEDS, POTS, and Endometriosis finding significant and sustained improvement is a powerful endorsement of their unique and effective approach. The willingness to offer a sliding scale and provide manageable take-home exercises shows a level of care that goes far beyond a typical physical therapy session. In a city where healthcare can feel rushed and impersonal, Kinected provides a human-centered experience where you are seen, heard, and helped. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After a toxic job termination that left me with PTSD and chronic anxiety, I was incredibly excited to apply for the Kane School BIPOC scholarship last year, hoping it would be a pivotal step toward becoming a Pilates instructor and a fresh start. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing.Despite multiple emails and follow-ups, I never received any confirmation or response. The complete lack of communication made me feel overlooked and discouraged. It’s frustrating when an institution claims to support diversity and inclusion but fails to follow through in the most basic way. This experience ultimately diminished my enthusiasm for pursuing any type of Pilates certification. I really expected better professionalism and respect for applicants, especially from a school regarded as one of the best in the city. So disheartening!
March 02 · Joy Li De MeulemeesterI've had such a great experience with Kinected. After years of seeing different physical therapists around New York for chronic pain, this is the first time I've felt significant and sustained improvement. Maddie and Alison are absolute wizards and experts in what they do! I recently was diagnosed with hEDS, POTS, and suspected Endometriosis, and their treatments have brought me immediate relief and education about how my body works and how to best support it. The take-home exercises are manageable and make a huge difference. I can't recommend them enough. The office has also generously offered me sliding scale so I can afford to access their treatments. If you're looking for compassionate and comprehensive treatment and relief, reach out to Kinected now!
December 23 · Michelle LimmerElliot's physical therapy has been invaluable for a family member suffering from chronic neck and back pain. The quality of life has improved greatly thanks to the exercises that he gave, unlike many other PTs that we tried in the past. If he is busy, his team is great too. Highly recommend!
January 06 · Valentino TosattiThe team at Kinected is where you want to be when your body needs to get set straight. Always impressed at their whole-body approach, and ability to tackle even the most intricate of issues. I started coming to the practice when pregnant, and went from being unable to stand due to a sacroiliac disorder, to being able to walk out of the office on my own. I’m hyper flexible and have been very grateful to have a consistently reliable and successful practice I’ve true years. As for their method: it is entirely different from what you would experience in a typical physical therapy practice. Here the highly skilled staff are working on you, and with you, for the entire duration of the appointment essentially ensuring that everything is gliding and functioning within proper alignment/good mechanics. Also a few of my family members from California have benefited greatly while visiting New York. My mother was able to avoid knee surgery from just two sessions with Elliot, and my niece finally found relief after a car accident. In short every single person I have referred here has walked away stunned. Every therapist on this team is worth their weight in gold and more. Highly recommend!
February 06 · Sarah BenarrochGreat physical therapy staff. They are skilled in the IPA methodologies, which enable them to treat patients with hard to treat issues. They can also handle patients who have conditions where traditional diagnostic techniques flair up the problem and don't actually determine a pathology. They are very caring and utilize a holistic, whole body perspective. Highly recommend!
