★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Iyengar Yoga Institute of NY has been life changing for me! I have been attending in person and now remote classes for about 5 years. All of the instructors are highly skilled, committed and attentive. Even on Zoom, they don't miss anything (lift those arches Dian!). They also actively build community (with community classes and events) and their customer support is highly responsive and efficient. I can't recommend the Institute enough!
April 23 · Dian KillianAbsolutely lovely studio with a variety of classes for each level! I’ve been coming for about half a year now (recommended by a friend) and ever since the tenor of each of my weeks has been changed! I frequent the POC class almost every week and I leave feeling not only more open physically open but mentally lighter. I feel like I just got a full body massage after every session :))
June 14 · Tyler C. OldsGet yourself to these incredible yoga classes. By far the most experienced, nuanced, dynamic, nourishing and inspiring classes I’ve ever experienced in my practice. I came to New York for an extended work trip, and was excited to explore the offerings at the institute and I’m leaving NYC completely transformed and inspired by what I’ve learned from these incredible instructors. If you are new to Iyengar, don’t be intimidated; this is the perfect place to get curious and build a practice. There are so many phenomenal teachers, but I would particularly recommend Deidra’s class. Her class is warm and welcoming, but don’t you worry, it’s also challenging. I always leave sweaty, having learned something new and with my mind (heart?!) blown open. So much gratitude for all of the wisdom and beauty shared. Truly a special place :-)
May 15 · Kayleigh DeckerTaking online classes with yoga instructor Tzahi Moskovitz was a truly wonderful experience. I don’t regularly practice yoga and haven’t attended many yoga classes, but whenever I did, I often found it hard to keep up because the instructors moved too quickly. That wasn’t the case with Tzahi—his pace was steady and manageable, making it easy to follow along. What made his classes even more special was the way he shared stories about the history of the poses, adding depth and insight into Iyengar yoga. He was also incredibly encouraging, which made me feel comfortable and motivated as a beginner. I highly recommend taking classes with Tzahi!
March 24 · Joan MenaBest yoga studio in the city for learning —very clean, welcoming and contemporary environment. I feel welcome as a beginner & Susan Turis’ class is my goto. Coming weekly has really helped improve my posture and hip/back mobility
