Homebody Yoga and Wellness Introduce
In the heart of North Carolina, the journey to a more centered and connected self often begins with finding the right space. Homebody Yoga and Wellness, a women-owned business located in downtown Raleigh, is more than just a place to practice yoga; it's a sanctuary where you can truly feel at home in your body. The studio’s name is a perfect reflection of its mission: to provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where you can decompress, connect, and grow. The community culture, carefully curated by owner Emily and her team, is a major reason why members describe the studio as their "home." This genuine sense of belonging is a rare find and a hallmark of the Homebody experience. The studio is intentionally designed to be a peaceful retreat from the outside world, with a focus on how your practice feels rather than how it looks. This is supported by its mirror-free space, allowing you to turn your focus inward and listen to your body's needs. Whether you are an experienced yogi or just beginning your journey, you will find a supportive and non-judgmental community waiting to welcome you with open arms. The variety of class offerings, from invigorating heated flows to calming unheated sessions, ensures that every individual can find a practice that resonates with their goals and current state of mind. Homebody Yoga and Wellness has a reputation for high-quality instruction and a truly heartfelt approach, making it a beloved destination for a large and diverse group of practitioners in the Raleigh area. It’s a place where every class is an opportunity to learn, grow, and reconnect with yourself, guaranteed to leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
The location and accessibility of a yoga studio are crucial for making it a regular part of your wellness routine. Homebody Yoga and Wellness is conveniently situated at 600 W Cabarrus St Suite 111, Raleigh, NC 27603, USA, in the vibrant Boylan Heights neighborhood of downtown Raleigh. This central location makes it a great choice for those living or working in the downtown area. One of the most convenient features is the abundant and free parking available to all visitors. The studio offers both a free parking garage and free street parking, which is a significant advantage in a busy downtown area. This removes the stress of finding a spot and allows you to walk into your class feeling calm and prepared. In terms of accessibility, the studio has taken steps to accommodate individuals with mobility needs by providing a wheelchair-accessible parking lot. This thoughtful feature ensures that more members of the North Carolina community can access the healing benefits of yoga. While the public information does not explicitly state a wheelchair-accessible entrance or restroom, the presence of a wheelchair-accessible parking lot indicates a clear commitment to inclusivity. The downtown Raleigh location also makes the studio an ideal spot for combining your practice with other activities, whether it's a visit to a local coffee shop or a meal with friends. The convenience and ease of access are a testament to the studio's commitment to creating a stress-free and welcoming experience for everyone. This focus on practical details, like free and accessible parking, ensures that your path to wellness is as smooth as possible.
Homebody Yoga and Wellness offers a variety of services designed to meet the diverse needs and preferences of its community. The studio’s class offerings include both heated and unheated options, ensuring there is something for everyone, whether you’re looking for an intense sweat or a gentle stretch. Their services are available for both onsite and outdoor classes.
Heated Vinyasa Flow: The studio offers a signature heated Vinyasa flow class, often at a temperature of around 95°F. This is an invigorating and dynamic class that links movement with breath, building strength, and flexibility. The use of infrared heaters provides a best-in-class sweat without the stuffy feeling often associated with traditional hot yoga. As one client shared, the heaters are "incredible - always the best sweat without feeling stuffy in the space."
Warm Slow Flow: This class, set at a slightly lower temperature (around 80°F), offers a blend of strength and stability. It focuses on longer holds to allow you to fine-tune each posture, making it ideal for those who want a physically challenging class without the fast pace of a Vinyasa flow.
Unheated Restorative and Grounding Classes: For moments when your body and mind need to slow down, Homebody offers unheated classes. The Ground & Restore class begins with a gentle flow before moving into deeper stretches and release, providing a perfect way to unwind. Restorative Yoga is designed to help you reset physically and mentally through long-held, supportive poses, often with the use of props.
Outdoor Services: On top of its in-studio classes, Homebody Yoga and Wellness also offers outdoor services. This provides a unique opportunity to connect with nature while practicing yoga, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of the North Carolina landscape as part of your wellness routine. This flexibility in location is a major benefit for those who prefer to exercise outside or simply want a change of scenery.
The studio’s instructors, described as "incredibly kind and talented," are skilled at providing guidance for all levels, ensuring that both beginners and advanced practitioners can benefit. This range of class formats and settings, combined with a focus on high-quality instruction, makes Homebody Yoga and Wellness a comprehensive destination for a variety of yoga practices.
Homebody Yoga and Wellness has cultivated a special atmosphere, and its key features and highlights are a direct reflection of this. The studio goes above and beyond to create an environment that feels like a second home to its members.
Women-Owned and Community-Focused: As a women-owned business, Homebody Yoga has a unique and empowering energy. The owner, Emily, and her team are praised for curating a genuine community. This focus on culture from the top down has created a "non-judgy" and welcoming space where a sense of belonging is deeply felt by all. A loyal member noted, "Homebody is home... I have finally found the one."
Inclusive and Safe Environment: The studio is a proud LGBTQ+ friendly space and a designated transgender safespace. This commitment to inclusivity ensures that everyone who walks through the door feels seen, respected, and comfortable being their authentic self. It’s a vital highlight that sets Homebody apart as a truly safe haven for the entire North Carolina community.
Thoughtful Studio Aesthetics: The studio is filled with natural light and is completely mirror-free. This intentional design choice encourages practitioners to focus on their inner sensations and how their practice feels, rather than how it looks. This helps to foster a deeper connection to the body and a more mindful practice. The use of infrared heaters is also a key feature, providing a comfortable heat that promotes a deep, detoxifying sweat without a stuffy atmosphere.
Practical Highlights: Homebody Yoga offers discounts for active military members, which is a wonderful way to show appreciation for those who serve. They also provide gender-neutral restrooms, which further reinforces their inclusive philosophy. These practical features, combined with the free parking, make the studio an accessible and convenient choice for a wide range of clients.
The combination of these highlights—from its welcoming community and inclusive values to its thoughtful design and practical amenities—is what makes Homebody Yoga and Wellness a truly special place to practice. It’s a space where you can not only improve your physical health but also nurture your mind and spirit, building a true sense of belonging.

Choosing a yoga studio is a deeply personal decision, and Homebody Yoga and Wellness provides several compelling reasons why it is a standout choice for those in the North Carolina area. The most significant factor is the unparalleled sense of community and genuine belonging that the studio has cultivated. Unlike many large, impersonal studios, Homebody feels like a true "home," where you are welcomed wholeheartedly every class. This culture starts with the leadership, as one reviewer noted, praising the owner Emily for being "incredibly kind and talented." This supportive environment allows you to feel safe to push yourself, comfortable to be yourself, and free from judgment. Secondly, the studio's strong commitment to inclusivity is a major differentiator. As an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safespace, it actively creates an environment where everyone feels respected and seen. This dedication to diversity and acceptance is a core value that resonates deeply with the community. Thirdly, the intentional design of the space—mirror-free and with natural light—promotes a more authentic and introspective practice. This allows you to focus on internal sensations and personal growth, rather than external appearance. The use of infrared heaters provides a superior heated experience, as praised by a client who loves the "best sweat without feeling stuffy." Finally, the practical benefits, such as free parking (both street and garage), active military discounts, and a variety of class formats including outdoor sessions, make it an incredibly convenient and accessible option. The combination of these factors—a warm and genuine community, inclusive values, a thoughtfully designed space, and practical amenities—makes Homebody Yoga and Wellness a truly worthwhile and special place to practice. It’s a studio that not only helps you improve your physical practice but also helps you find a sense of peace and belonging, proving it to be a unique and valuable asset to the Raleigh community.

August 12 · Taylor VThe teachers and the space at homebody are amazing! When I started at homebody I had never done yoga before and now I go all the time and feel amazing after every class. As a beginner, the space feels very comfortable and approachable. I really love the flows and the teachers are amazing at providing modifications and adjustments so you get the most out of the class.I’m also really grateful that Emily makes herself available for guidance and advice. Bucket is also the cutest welcome committee. Give that pup a raise!
July 15 · Ashley MauriceHomebody Yoga is a warm, welcoming studio that feels like a sanctuary. I started with the intro month, which is a great deal, and instantly felt at home. The instructors are outstanding adn genuinely care, providing cues and assists to help you advance your practice, or get started if you're a beginner. The bright, clean space offers heated and unheated classes with thoughtful touches like props and towels. Showers are available too. Class options range from heated Vinyasa flows to restorative sessions. I love how every class ends with a group Om—it’s such a nice touch. Definitely worth checking out!
August 09 · ML HastyI love practicing here. There are tons of great teachers, the room isn’t too hot but it’s plenty to get your sweat going, no mirrors which im a fan of, and the shower/changing rooms are always clean. I’ve been practicing a long time and this is the exact type of studio I’ve been looking for. Highly Recommend.
