Gold's Gym is conveniently located at 1220 N Fillmore St Suite 150, Arlington, VA 22201, USA. This is a prime spot in the vibrant Clarendon neighborhood, making it easily accessible for people who live and work in the area. Its location is a major draw for members who appreciate the ease of integrating their workout into their daily lives, whether it's before or after work, or on the weekends. The gym is situated in a highly-trafficked area with other businesses, which makes it a visible and well-known destination.
The gym is committed to accessibility, providing a wheelchair-accessible car park, a wheelchair-accessible entrance, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. This ensures that the facility is welcoming to individuals of all abilities. As for parking, there is a lot underneath the building. However, it is important to note that, as some reviews point out, while the staff may have mentioned free parking, it is actually a discounted rate with validation, not a free two-hour period. This is an important detail for potential members to be aware of when planning their visits.
Gold's Gym offers a variety of services to support its members' fitness journeys, with a focus on core gym activities.
Personal Training: For those seeking one-on-one guidance, the gym provides personal training services. Certified trainers can help members create a customized plan to achieve their fitness goals, whether it's strength building, weight loss, or performance enhancement. This personalized attention can be a great way to stay motivated and ensure proper form.
Strength Training: The gym offers a full range of strength training equipment, including free weights, resistance machines, and functional training areas. While some customer feedback suggests that some of the equipment may be older or in need of an update, there is a good variety of tools for a complete strength workout.
Group Fitness Classes: The gym also provides a variety of group exercise classes, including popular formats such as Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Power Yoga, and Bootcamp. These classes offer a social and energetic alternative to solo workouts, led by instructors who can provide guidance and motivation. Class options vary by time of day and week.
Gold's Gym has several features and highlights that make it a consistent choice for many in the Arlington area, but it's also important to consider some of the noted drawbacks from the member perspective.
Excellent Location: The gym's location in Clarendon is one of its biggest assets, providing great convenience for a large population of residents and workers. The easy access is a major reason why many people choose this gym over others.
Variety of Equipment: The gym offers a full suite of equipment for both cardio and strength training. This includes treadmills, elliptical machines, a variety of free weights, and resistance machines.
Flexible Payment Options: Members can pay for their memberships using a variety of methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, making transactions convenient.
Accessibility: As mentioned, the gym is equipped with features to ensure it is wheelchair-accessible, making it a viable option for a broad range of community members.
Staff and Customer Service: Some reviews note that the staff is generally okay, but can be unhelpful when faced with a question they don't know the answer to. This can be a point of frustration for members seeking assistance.
Equipment Condition: Several reviews from real customers point out that the equipment, including machines and cushions, shows signs of age and wear. Some machines are described as old, rusty, squeaky, or having torn upholstery. This is a recurring point of feedback, with members expressing a desire for the gym to invest in newer equipment given its popularity.
Parking Fee: The cost of parking, even with validation, can be a downside for members who drive to the gym regularly. The requirement to get a separate ticket to validate parking is also noted as an inconvenience.

Choosing Gold's Gym in Arlington means opting for a straightforward, no-frills fitness experience in a highly desirable location. For many, its key advantage is its convenient location in Clarendon, making it a prime spot to get a workout in without a long commute. The gym's reputation as "the best of the 3 Gold's Gyms in the area," as noted by a client, suggests it holds a special place for a dedicated clientele. It serves its purpose as a reliable place to train, and for some, that is enough. The presence of group fitness classes also provides an option for those who thrive in a class setting, with a variety of classes including popular yoga styles.
However, it is worth considering the feedback on the equipment. If having brand-new, cutting-edge machines is a top priority, this location may not be the ideal fit. The reviews consistently point to the need for equipment upgrades, particularly for specific machines like the leg curl and leg extension, where the design may not be suitable for all body types. For those who are comfortable with a more traditional gym setting and are not deterred by older equipment, Gold's Gym can be a perfectly serviceable option.
Ultimately, this Gold's Gym is a classic choice for a reason: it's centrally located and offers the fundamental tools for a good workout. While some areas, such as equipment and parking fees, could be improved, it remains a popular and reliable fitness center for a significant portion of the Arlington community. It's a place where you can get in, get your workout done, and get on with your day, which for many, is exactly what they are looking for in a gym.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The gym’s location is great, but I’ve visited all the gyms in the area, and they all seem to have the same quality equipment. Most of the machines are old, rusty, and have squeaky or noisy parts, or ripped cushions.Considering how popular this gym is, they should invest in their equipment. The staff at this location are generally okay, but they’re not very helpful. If they don’t know the answer to a question, they look at you like a deer in headlights. This makes me hesitant to ask anything, which is disappointing. Also parking under the building is not 2hrs free as I was led to believe by the staff. It’s discounted with validation.
November 13 · beyondTabuThe best of the 3 golds gyms in the area. They need another leg curl and leg extension machine and they clearly have space for it.I also wish they would have a better chest supported row machine. The current one does not have an adjustable foot rest and only supports a small area of the chest. This prevents it from working with every skeleton often requiring a weird bend at the legs to get the full range of motionThe only downside is having to pay $1 for packing. I wish it didn’t require me to get a separate ticket in order for me to validate the parking.
June 09 · Adam LittrellDecent gym. Clean.Equipment a bit old; Joe Gold may have used some of the machines here...Warm/hot on free weight side of facility; should install ceiling fans.Water fountains warm, too ;(The space has potential...could up its game a bit...IT'S 8 MONTHS LATER ANDWATER FOUNTAINS ARE STILL WARM. CAN MANAGEMENT PLEASE ADVISE IF THEY CARE ENOUGH TO FIX THE CHILLERS??It's July 3, 2025 now, and the water fountain is as warm as ever, to go with the record heat and humidity outside.Management doesn't care. They got your money, and thank you for the reminder... who wants non-metallic-tasting water from the fountain anyway??
July 03 · G Yeck0 stars if i could for the most insufferable experience I had interacting with whoever was at the front desk, and their poor attempts to acquire a sign up. I made it clear I was only interested in viewing the gym in passing and was friendly in my interaction. When asked for my ID , I complied knowing standard procedure regarding signing waivers for tours was a norm and I only requested that it not be exposed on the counter as I wear hijab, and didn't want others to view it freely (a completely reasonable ask). The man proceeded to make passive aggressive jokes about my request and continued the passive aggressive behavior after I walked around the gym with 2 friends, suggesting that if this gym wasn't to my standard then lifetime might be a better fit. Truly strange behavior and awful customer service considering that hasn't been my experience at other golds gyms locations.
January 13 · Mia OI’ve recently seen many people without proper hygiene walking around: they smell.I also saw a homeless man in the men’s locker. I hope the management addresses these issues. Otherwise this is a good gymEdit: air condition is down most of the time. It’s hot and humid here
