While the gym offers an impressive list of services and amenities, the user experience, as described by some local members, can be a mixed bag. Several customer reviews highlight a concern with the overall upkeep and management of the facility. One reviewer described it as "the dirtiest, most disorganized Gold's on the East coast," citing issues like worn-out equipment, missing weight labels, and a general lack of cleanliness. Another customer, while appreciating the 24/7 access and friendly staff, found the equipment to be "worn" and the overall atmosphere to be less motivating than they had hoped for. These candid insights from real customers provide a valuable perspective for anyone in the area considering a membership. They suggest that while Gold's Gym in Glen Burnie offers a vast selection of services, potential members should weigh these offerings against the reported issues with maintenance and organization.

What is worth choosing
For a Maryland resident considering Gold's Gym in Glen Burnie, the decision often comes down to weighing the gym’s extensive offerings against the feedback from its current and former members. On the one hand, the sheer volume and variety of services are a major draw. With a wide array of group exercise classes like Aerobics, Zumba, and Kickboxing, as well as specialized training in Boxing and Circuit Training, the gym caters to virtually every fitness preference. The 24/7 access is a standout feature, particularly for those with demanding schedules, providing the ultimate in convenience. The gym also makes a strong case for families by offering youth classes and essential childcare services, which can be a game-changer for parents who struggle to find time for their workouts. Furthermore, the availability of a sauna, hydromassage, and a women's-only area adds layers of comfort and personalization to the fitness journey.
However, based on public reviews, it's crucial for prospective members to manage their expectations regarding the facility's condition and management. Feedback suggests a potential disconnect between the gym's brand reputation and its on-the-ground reality, with several comments pointing to issues with cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and overall organization. While the staff is often described as friendly, some members feel that management standards could be improved to better align with the membership fees. For someone who prioritizes a pristine, modern, and perfectly organized gym environment above all else, the experience at this location might be disappointing. That said, for individuals who value a large selection of equipment, flexible hours, and a wide variety of classes and are less concerned with cosmetic issues, Gold's Gym could still be a viable option. It is a place that provides the tools for success—it's just a matter of whether the atmosphere is the right fit for your personal motivation and workout style. The best course of action for any local would be to take advantage of any trial pass to see if the facility's pros outweigh its cons for their specific needs.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is the dirtiest, most disorganized Gold's on the East coast. I'm curious about the managers' standards. A lot of dust on many surfaces. It's difficult to find matching weights and specific equipment because of the disorganization. It looks like a play house where toddlers ran through. The mats are so worn and torn that they should have been thrown away a long time ago. That is an inexpensive, simple upgrade. Many weights, of different styles, no longer have the value written on it and you must weigh it yourself to know. Almost every week, there is a man working out in the women's section. Dirty steps. Outdated or worn out equipment that should have been discarded a long time ago. I'm fortunate that this is free to me because it's definitely not worth what they charge. Management could do so much better with the huge building. Sometimes an employee greets members. Often, they don't even look up from their cell phones.Update: I'm having my provider switch me back to the Y. The Y doesn't have some of the equipment that Gold's has but at least it's clean up to date, and well managed.
January 16 · Victoria GMy Honest Experience at Gold's Gym, MarylandI joined Gold's Gym when I moved to Maryland this past April, mostly because it’s spacious and open 24/7 — a huge plus for someone like me who values flexibility. But the more time I spent there, the less inspired I felt. The gym just doesn’t feel as fresh or motivating as I hoped. Equipment is worn, some machines don’t work properly (and honestly feel like they could cause injury if you're not careful), and the overall tidiness leaves a lot to be desired. The staff? Super friendly — no complaints there. But for me, I want a gym that’s bright, clean, full of mirrors (so I can flex properly, lol), and simply makes me want to be there.I appreciate what Gold’s offers — truly — but respectfully, it’s just not the right fit for me. On to LA Fitness for the vibe I’ve been looking for.
June 10 · Rob J. BeasleyThe gym itself is pretty good as long as you don't expect to have the free weights where they belong but even that is hard to tell since some aren't even labeled so you can't even tell where they go. Some machines are brand new some are extremely old so at least there are options and not just all bad. My main issue with this gym is the boxing area the photos more or less speak for themselves it's not even a boxing area anymore back when I first signed up there were 6 punching bags and one double ended speed bag. Now it's just down to one being that the boxing area was one of the main reasons I joined now everyone that goes to the boxing area has to take turns. I wasn't gonna even make a post until multiple months went by and the area has only gotten worse. I had a surgery on my knee and recovered faster than they could just add some more bags but then again I get charged a maintenance fee. I will be updating this post accordingly whether I can get a refund or they fix the "boxing" area whichever comes first.Edit: it's 8/8/24 and it's back to 4 bags still no speed bag
August 09 · Derian STerrible gym with terrible cancellation policies. Paid on the account for years and years. Move out of state and try to cancel via mail as they require (because over-the-phone doesn’t work in 2025?). Letter never makes it because the it’s snail mail and they have their own problems. So they send you to collections. Definitely beware of this slimy place.
June 30 · Steven Anderson2/10/24 secretary at the front desk is clueless. Had to wait over 45 minutes for my kid to join the kids center because she failed to tell me it was at capacity when I was walking in.In general I love Gold’s and staff is amazing!! But cleanliness of the gym is a real problem especially the women’s section it’s been ridiculous. They are really messing with my OCD early in the morning. They don’t pick up their paper towels and they don’t rack their weight. Every Saturday morning it’s like a nightclub and it was a party with weights. I got a clean up our section just to work out. Weights have gone missing. They put signs up in the women’s section but have been taken down. And as soon as they were taken down the women started acting up again. The pictures that I loaded doesn’t do the justice of what I walked into today. And this wasn’t even the women’s section. SmhRidiculousness.Last three pictures is after I cleaned up.
