When I began a new job with free gym access my husband, who is the primary account holder, attempted multiple times to not only call and go online to cancel our membership, but physically went in as well. Hours of staffing where you can talk to someone about your membership is incredibly limited making it very difficult as they do not allow you to cancel your membership online. You are required to provide written notice in person to cancel. We finally were able to find a time to go in during their limited staffed hours. I met an older gentleman, and when I explained to him the situation he rudely stated "well all he had to do was fill out a form." A few weeks later we charged again for the membership. Attempted to call several times as I did not have any opportunity in my schedule to physically go in and I was unable to reach someone. We put a hold on our card to stop the payment because we didn't understand why we were being billed again. After over a week of phone calls, I was finally able to speak with Amanda who promised that it was only because of billing cycles. We no longer pursued the charge with the credit card company. Fast forward to a month later, we recieve an invoice with over 200$ worth of fees. I left a voicemail asking for an explanation. Spoke with Amanda again and she is the RUDEST person I have ever met in my life. When I explained why we contacted the credit card company PRIOR to my first conversation with her she stated "I'm so sick of hearing people tell me that excuse. I am here 30 hours a week, I practically live here." She was incredibly rude and condescending. I stated after her rude comments that I would pay the fee, but wanted everything else wiped out. Again I was greeted with rudeness and short remarks "I already said I was going to do that." considering how the previous experience had gone, I felt that I needed to hear that we were on the same page. Apparently, that is too much to ask for. Maybe if multiple clients are bringing the lack of staffing and ability to contact you to your attention, instead of being rude and condescending you should form an action plan on how you can address these concerns.
