★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My initial exposure to Desert Mvmt was in a free community class in February 2024 at the park. I entered in a giveaway for a month of unlimited movement. After coming to class I fell in love! The instructors, other participants, and the vibes were unbeatable.I was pregnant when I first came to the studio and the instructors were very intentional about modifications for me. After my giveaway membership ended I came to their free community classes. After I had my baby I stepped away for a while only to come back once I had the all clear from my doctor. Even then the instructors remembered me and helped me with modifications! The community I built here is so supportive and encouraging. As I've built my strength, endurance, and flexibility so many people have commented on my progress. As a whole Desert Mvmt isn't just a pilates studio, it's a community. The founders are instructors and also get out of breath. The instructors each bring something different to the class, so even if you've done an Align class before, it'll be so different between teachers. Each class is beginner and advanced friendly since it challenges. As a beginner, I've learned that align is the best class for getting introduced to the workouts. Sculpt is where you get that extra challenge because you're doing slower and more focused movements. Strength is exactly what it is and gets you every time. The reformers are fantastic I don't think I had a class I didn't like. Still hoping to take more and definitely will remain a member.I have the annual unlimited mat and reformer plan, which I highly recommend if you plan to do multiple classes a week. I take 5-6 classes every week.
April 26 · Elisabeth Johnsondesert mvmt has become SUCH a special place to us. we originally started coming in to the studio as clients, just looking to move + feel good. and over time, it’s grown into so much more. now we’re lucky enough to be community partners & every time we step into the space, it feels like home. the vibes are always on point, the staff is kind and uplifting, and the owners genuinely care about creating something meaningful here. (not to mention the amazing playlists!) it’s not just a beautiful studio... it’s a space that radiates connection and support. we’re so grateful to be a part of the dm community 🫶🏼
June 13 · AZ House of Touch SpaWhen I relocated into midtown from the east valley I was looking for a new yoga studio - but their different style of classes and overall vibe caught my eye. They have affordable ways to get acquainted with the class styles which I enjoyed. I never felt pressured to become a member while I tried things on for size.Sara and Alex are not only owners but instructors and you will find them in studio often. I have taken classes with many instructors and all have been wonderful. They do have yoga - but I have really enjoyed the mat-style pilates and strength classes.I like that you have to book a spot, so classes are never so full you can't move. It also makes me be accountable because I book them a week at a time so they are on my calendar and I'm not tempted to "just not go". I always leave feeling great. They also have some workshops and other fun community activities. My weekends are usually booked so I have not attended any yet, but I think if you're looking for a great fitness program that also has a fun vibe and sense of community, you won't be disappointed with DM!
