★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Like other reviews have said, the renovations were nice, but this place has gone downhill over the last year since the last manager left. First, I can't remember the last time I walked in and someone said hi. All the front desk workers tend to be more occupied with their phones or with each other. I've even seen people walk in without scanning in on multiple occasions, and staff not even looking up. It's as if nobody cares or pays attention anymore. Second, when the last manager was here a year ago, equipment was picked up and put away regularly. You saw staff walking through the gym every hour to make sure it was somewhat orderly. Now, there's garbage everywhere and as dusty as all can be. Locker rooms are pitiful. And it doesn't help that the equipment is so close together that it makes it hard to walk through (which aren't there ADA requirements for this??), on top of tripping over left-out equipment. Third, despite the renovation, things are falling apart. The cables still do not have half of the weight labels on them, attachments are borderline unsafe, the new equipment racks in the old court area have pieces falling off, and the turf near cardio has a huge gaping hole in the wall. That's just to name a few. Fourth, there never seems to be a consistent manager there anymore. Sometimes there is one, and sometimes there isn't. Up until last year, the last manager was there every day, being welcoming and kind to each member who walked in. You could tell she cared. It seems like this location is just surviving by the skin of its neck now. I tried a day pass at the Catalyst across the street, and I now see why so many people cancelled their memberships at Crunch. They know what they're doing over there, and Crunch could take some pointers. Not sure how much longer I can stay a member here. I love my fellow members and have enjoyed the community, but this place is run awfully from club-level management to upper management (because how can you allow this??). I'm asking that this review please be taken seriously and these issues be solved, not just for me but for your entire member base.
August 04 · Jill SmithOverall, gym is very nice after the remodel. The maintenance staff, Emma, deserves a promotion, has great hustle (true work ethic). Friendly staff overall. Lots of machines, bit tightly packed, but a necessary tradeoff, depending on how you look at it. Enjoy your workouts everyone. Stay strong 💪. Hope this short review helps.
May 19 · Matt M. (Daddy)Good amenities, good machines but SO many issues. The machines are too close together, it’s a safety issue. Weights and supplies are just left out all the time. It’s always super busy, and takes forever to get a lift in during peak hours. No toilet paper in the women’s locker room on several occasions, and they won’t always post a sign if a male is cleaning on the women’s side, which is jarring. All in all, I prefer Sheridan or Niagara Falls far more
April 02 · Samara JohnsonThe music is way too loud and the group fitness instructors leave their trash everywhere and are always trying to kick everyone out of the boxing room during classes. So paying members can't be trusted to do anything but staff can disrespect the place? They also didn't fix the womens locker room AT ALL. They repainted a single wall. What was the point of renovating? When Catalyst opens down the street I have a feeling many members will go there.
March 19 · Kail LawryI’ve been going here for years. It’s close to where I live. But whyyyyyyyy did they have to take away the women’s section. I feel like I got to workout in peace there. I know it’s not just me. Did they see it as discrimination to men? Even though there is no one out right harassing you. It provided a space where you generally didn’t have to worry about that. The new stuff is nice but also seems like there’s a good amount of open space to where there still could have been a small women section. Anyways whoever designed this you get a “F” and a lot of unhappy women. I don’t think there’s another gym currently in Buffalo that provides women only. Or at least close to me. Otherwise I would switch asap. Idk maybe some women aren’t bothered. But for me and especially when I’m doing certain exercises. I rather NOT be in a mans view
