CrossOver Fitness Introduce
For families and individuals in Wells, Maine, and the surrounding coastal communities, finding a fitness center that truly feels like a supportive extension of the neighborhood can be a challenge. CrossOver Fitness is exactly that place. Established by local teachers and coaches Andre and Katie Mercier, this facility was founded on a simple yet powerful mission: to help people of all ages and abilities "crossover" to a healthier lifestyle. It is a gym that understands the complexities of balancing work and family life, and it has created a unique, family-friendly environment where everyone can pursue their wellness goals together.
What makes CrossOver Fitness a standout choice is its unwavering commitment to community. Reviews from members consistently highlight the wonderful, friendly, and inspiring people that make up the CrossOver family. The coaches, including owners Andre and Katie, are not just instructors; they are partners in your fitness journey. They take the time to know each and every person who walks through the door, including their kids, and are proactive in providing support and modifications for those with injuries. This personalized attention within a group setting is a powerful motivator and ensures that every workout is safe, effective, and tailored to your specific needs and capabilities.
The gym's classes are designed to be inclusive and effective for a wide range of people. The core offering is a high-intensity workout of the day (WOD) that is carefully scaled and modified to meet everyone's needs. This means that a high-level athlete and a complete beginner can both participate in the same class and get a challenging workout that is appropriate for their body. This approach fosters a cohesive class dynamic where everyone is inspired by the efforts of those around them, regardless of their fitness level. The coaches excel at marrying these variances into a cohesive and fun class each time, making what might seem intimidating feel completely warranted and achievable.
CrossOver Fitness's dedication to the community extends far beyond its four walls. The owners have deep roots in the Wells-Ogunquit School District, and their passion for helping people is evident in every aspect of the business. They support the local community, host family days, and even incorporate special birthday workouts, making members feel genuinely seen and celebrated. The facility is also an excellent option for visitors to the area, particularly those staying in nearby Kennebunkport. The gym is known for its welcoming attitude towards drop-ins, providing a great way for vacationers to maintain their fitness routine while enjoying the Maine coast. The space is praised for being clean, well-equipped, and perfect for a solid workout, whether you're a local or just passing through.

Group Fitness Classes: The cornerstone of the gym's offerings. Every class is expertly led by a coach and features a high-intensity workout of the day (WOD) that is universally scalable to fit all fitness levels and abilities.
Youth Classes: CrossOver Fitness is good for kids, with programs designed to introduce younger people to healthy habits. Children 12 and over are encouraged to join their families in classes and are skillfully coached to build skill, strength, and confidence through exercise.
Children's Classes: While older children can join family classes, the gym also offers a safe, designated space for younger kids to play while their parents work out, addressing a common challenge for active parents.
Senior Exercise Classes: A low-intensity class specifically designed for older adults. These sessions focus on functional movements to build strength and mobility, helping to improve quality of life and maintain independence.
Unmatched Community: The gym's supportive and friendly community is its most compelling feature. Members feel inspired and welcomed, creating a positive and motivating atmosphere that makes workouts something to look forward to.
Expert and Attentive Coaching: The coaches are consistently praised for their knowledge and their ability to tailor workouts to each person's specific needs, including those with injuries. They provide the kind of personal attention that is rare in a group setting.
Family-Friendly Environment: This is a key differentiator. The gym was founded by parents with the goal of creating a family-friendly space. It is a welcoming place for all ages, from young children to seniors, and provides a designated play area for kids.
Drop-in Friendly: The gym is an excellent choice for visitors to the Maine coast. Its welcoming nature and convenient location make it easy for people to drop in and get a great workout while on vacation.
Clean and Well-Equipped: The facility is well-maintained and provides all the necessary equipment for a solid and comprehensive workout, ensuring a great experience for all members.
Supportive of Local Community: With owners who are deeply involved in the local school district, the gym's commitment to supporting the Wells and Ogunquit community is a strong highlight.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great facility and Andre was awesome—super helpful and welcoming. The space was clean, well-equipped, and perfect for a solid workout. It’s also conveniently close to Kennebunkport, which made it an easy drop-in while visiting. Would definitely go back!
August 06 · JohnWhile I routinely get my butt kicked, it’s so worth it! I feel so much better when i go to CrossOver, not just because I exercised, but i get to see a lot of wonderfully friendly and inspiring people. People at various levels of their fitness journey, various ages, and various capabilities—and the coaches marry these variances into a cohesive class each time. I have injuries and the coaches are proactive in inquiring about alternative ways to do the exercises. The coaches also make sure that they know each and every person—they do special birthday workouts, they do family days, they get to know your kids, they support the community, and they are just awesome. I was intimidated but I know now that was not warranted. Thank you Katie and Andre!
February 23 · Heather BelangerCrossover is my home away from home! The whole community is like family. Such a great, encouraging atmosphere. There are days I do not want to work out but go anyway, I never regret it. My 7 year old son also participates in the CrossOver Kids program! There is something for everyone...don't wait another day!
January 15 · Lizz MelbourneA place for personal growth where each client is met at their own fitness level. Group classes within a community featuring structured instruction of physical movements. I highly recommend CrossOver fitness for beginners or veteran athletes after being a client for 4 years.
