What makes CrossFit For The People worth choosing is a combination of factors that go beyond the standard gym offerings. The real-world reviews from satisfied customers highlight the elements that truly set this place apart. One review notes, "What really sets CFTP apart, though, is the community and how the classes are run." This speaks directly to the heart of the CrossFit experience, which is built on shared effort and mutual support. Unlike a solitary gym experience, this is a place where you're part of a team, and the social connection can be a powerful motivator.
The quality of coaching is another major selling point. The reviews praise the coaches for their thoroughness, helpfulness, and ability to provide improvements without being "pushy." This is a crucial distinction, as it shows the coaches are dedicated to member safety and progress, rather than just yelling commands. The reviews specifically mention that coaches "take the time to make sure you’re properly warmed up and walk through all the lifts or technical parts of the workout so you feel confident and know what you’re doing." This level of personalized attention is invaluable, especially for those new to CrossFit, and is a key reason members miss this gym when they move away.
Finally, the physical environment itself is a draw. The comments about the gym being "super clean and organized, with new Rogue equipment" and how the dumbbells and weight plates are "very well organized" are not small details. They reflect a professional operation that respects its members and takes pride in its facility. This creates a more enjoyable and efficient workout experience. For a New Yorker in the Albany area looking for a gym that offers top-tier equipment, expert guidance, and a supportive community, CrossFit For The People is a standout choice. It's a place where you can get a challenging and effective workout while also building genuine friendships, making your fitness journey both successful and enjoyable.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was a member at CrossFit For The People for about two years before moving out of state. The gym itself is super clean and organized, with new Rogue equipment. What really sets CFTP apart, though, is the community and how the classes are run. Everyone was always on time (or early) and respectful. Every class starts with a 'question of the day' to break the ice and get people talking, which makes it easy to get to know everyone. The coaches take the time to make sure you’re properly warmed up and walk through all the lifts or technical parts of the workout so you feel confident and know what you’re doing (I definitely miss this at my current gym).
December 19 · Lauren MasaitisWell organized, clean, big, and great people. Coach Kayla was very thorough, and helpful pointing out improvements in movements without being pushy.Solid equipment - I saw a lot of Rogue, very good condition barbells, weights, rowers, bikes, etc. Dumbbells and weight plates are very well organized - it makes a difference!!Came for a drop-in workout, and will come again next time I'm in town. highly recommend!

February 14 · Jonathan O KeeffeCFTP is more than just a gym. The community is what makes this place special. Everyone is friendly, encouraging, and supportive. The coaches are very knowledgeable and provide scaling options that are accessible to everyone. The facility is super clean and well equipped.I never thought I was “fit” enough for CrossFit, but after my first class I realized that you don’t need to be an athlete to participate! This place has changed my life for the better. Not only have I become physically stronger and healthier, but mentally has well.
June 08 · Kayla CaryI joined CrossFit for the People about 5 years ago with no prior CrossFit experience. I was nervous and hesistant until I met the owner Kayla and the other members. The community that has been built within the gym is like no other. I have made lifelong friends from joining this gym! Besides the great community, Kayla and the other coaches are extremely knowledgeable. They are always providing different modifications for movements so that everyone in the room can have a great workout and still be safe doing so! CrossFit for the People has made such a positive impact on my life, I highly recommend trying a class!Best Hour of My Day 😊
