What is Worth Choosing CorePower Yoga - The Loop?
For those in the Illinois area, CorePower Yoga in The Loop is a compelling choice for a variety of reasons. First and foremost is the quality of the classes and the distinct workout they provide. Unlike traditional yoga, CorePower's classes, especially their signature Yoga Sculpt and C2 formats, offer a high-intensity workout that builds strength and endurance. The heated rooms add another layer of challenge and benefit, and the intentional sequencing ensures a full-body, effective workout every time. The positive reviews on the classes and the enthusiastic instructors are a testament to the quality of the programming.
The studio's location is a huge selling point, particularly for those who work downtown. The convenience of being able to get in a powerful workout before, during, or after work without a long commute is invaluable. While the space may be smaller than other locations, its central position is a significant advantage. The sense of community is also a major draw; the friendly staff and fellow members make it a welcoming environment, as one reviewer noted, and it’s a place where you can practice kindness and set better intentions, making it more than just a place to sweat.
However, it's also worth being aware of some of the potential downsides. As noted in a review, the studio’s facilities, particularly the men’s changing area and bathroom, can feel cramped. This is a point of concern for some members. Additionally, while the community is generally very supportive, the occasional negative interaction can occur, as it can at any public space. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience at CorePower Yoga - The Loop is overwhelmingly positive. The fantastic classes, convenient location, and welcoming atmosphere make it a highly recommended destination for anyone in the Chicago Loop looking to transform their body and mind.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Took a CP2 class on opening week and was met by enthusiastic Yogi's. A compact, clean, well organized space. First timers are greeted by a non-descript front door and two smaller practice studios compared to other locations. Claustrophobic Yogi's beware! Whomever designed the Men's bathroom and changing area must have never showered at a studio before... two stalls tucked away in a space to accommodate a maximum 4 people. When more than three people heads into the bathroom, it gets really uncomfortable, quick. Get past the cramped quarters and it's all about convenient Loop location, location, location.
December 13 · chad svastisaleeGreat establishment, awesome classes, cute space, and friendly staff but sadly experienced an interaction with a terribly rude member. Just a reminder to respect corepower as it’s a safe place for both guests and staff. Respect the space, the people, and the rules- they’re there for your own benefit. No place to bring nasty attitudes, ill temperament, and outright entitlement. Not cool, leave that at the door! Still loving my membership, hopefully everyone can practice kindness and set some better intentions.
January 10 · Anne MarcusThe second-floor yoga studio at 158 W. Washington Street shouldn't work. Squeezed above the bustle of Chicago's financial district, CorePower Yoga's Loop location occupies painfully cramped quarters where students routinely complain about crowded classes and minimal amenities. Yet it maintains stellar ratings, drawing a devoted following of downtown professionals who treat it like a sanctuary. The success reveals something fascinating about urban wellness: sometimes limitation breeds loyalty."The instructors are fantastic," says a recent review, echoing dozens of similar testimonials. Students repeatedly praise teachers by name, creating personal connections that transcend the studio's physical shortcomings. Analysis of CorePower reviews nationwide confirms skilled and engaging instructors are a major positive highlight across the chain. For Loop workers, proximity trumps luxury. The ability to escape from a corporate tower to an hour of mindless heated yoga—and return within a lunch break—outweighs desires for spacious locker rooms or premium amenities. The building carries its own rebellious legacy. In the 1920s, the Covici-McGee bookstore operated at this address, publishing controversial works including Ben Hecht's "Fantazius Mallare," which led to owners being fined $1,000 for obscenity. That spirit of defying convention feels fitting for a yoga studio thriving in an unlikely setting. The experience isn't without friction. Temperature regulation remains a recurrent issue across CorePower locations, with heat becoming excessive in windowed rooms. Classes are famously packed, with mats less than a foot from your neighbor—a reality that somehow enhances rather than diminishes the communal energy.CorePower as a corporation faces broader challenges. The company settled a $1.49 million wage lawsuit in 2019 involving 2,180 instructors who alleged unpaid preparation time, and recent privacy violations regarding Facebook data sharing are currently being litigated. These corporate struggles create an interesting tension with the local loyalty the Loop studio commands.Yet students keep climbing those stairs. "Great vibes at the loop," writes one recent reviewer, capturing the ineffable quality that transforms constraint into appeal. In a city where real estate is precious and time more so, CorePower's Loop location has mastered an urban alchemy: turning a cramped second-floor space into exactly what busy professionals need—a brief, intense escape that feels both accessible and exclusive. The studio proves that in urban wellness, context matters more than square footage. Sometimes the best sanctuary is the one hidden in plain sight.
July 09 · Jeremy EdmundsMy bucket list is to do yoga in as many states and countries that I travel to. Took core yoga 2 at the loop branch this morning and it was a great practice. It’s always good to move after a flight and always fun to try studios around the country. I’d return next time I’m in Chicago.
January 08 · Jennie SchmidtI LOVE CorePower! All of their classes are great and well heated! My favorite is HPF (Hot Power Fusion), which is a heated vinyasa flow that can be advance but adjustments provided for new students as well.
