★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Good gym for students and staff to workout and have recreational time in. The facility has an indoor rock climbing area, wrestling/training room/underground fitness center, and a large gym in the back. Bathrooms and showers are usually clean and work, only negative thing is there are usually a lot of people using the facility and its very hot inside!
April 17 · GuyWithACameraNJFantastic facilities inside what looks like an old building. The basket ball court is great and so is the weights room. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. This is open only to Rutgers University students, faculty and staff. This is one of several gymnasiums that Rutgers University has but this is probably the only one on College Avenue campus.
August 12 · Krishna SudarshanI've been attending and participating in the Rutgers BIG Chill 5K for nearly 10 yrs. It's has been and still is a family tradition we attend annually! I have a sister-in-law employed there, a niece and niece-in-law and friends who graduated from Rutgers! I love what they do for their and our community! In short, I love the warm, friendly, and caring staff, volunteers, and people involved! I especially Thank all your law enforcement agencies for their help and concerns and making us feel safe and secure! :-)
December 26 · Sheryl McFarlandRutgers did this awsome kids program, so I visited the gym. Big sportsplex experience. Nice wall for rock climbing enthusiasts.
March 28 · Bhupesh BoraIf you want to play basketball here, I would not recommend it. There is a nice annex gym with 3 point lines that they close down due to covid restrictions still to this day. You will be hounded if while running down the court your mask goes beneath your nose. Most of the staff is understanding of this but others will end the games and kick you out if you are playing basketball and take a breathe with no mask. If the covid guidelines change the gym will be good, but one of the managers is relentless with making sure the mask is above the nose at all times. If you like to breathe while playing basketball, go to any other Rutgers gym.
