Introduction / Overview: Building Confidence and Skill in Marietta’s Premier Gymnastics Center
For families in the Georgia area, especially those in the Marietta community, Central Gymnastics Academy (CGA) is more than just a sports complex; it is a specialized center dedicated to nurturing the physical and mental growth of children through the sport of gymnastics and tumbling. Located in the heart of Cobb County, CGA offers a family-owned, family-friendly atmosphere that has been purposefully designed to instill strong physical, mental, and social attributes in every student.
From the first exciting steps of a toddler in a Parent & Tot class to the focused precision of an athlete in Advanced Gymnastics or High-Level Tumbling, CGA provides a structured, progressive pathway for all ages and skill levels. Their philosophy centers on striking a healthy balance: ensuring students have a fantastic time in class while also acquiring excellent, foundational gymnastics skills. The high quality of their professional coaching staff is a defining feature, with instructors who are patient, encouraging, and experts at making learning successful, fun, and exciting. The facility is fully equipped with established Olympic-style apparatus for both boys and girls, including features like an in-ground foam pit and trampoline, providing a safe and stimulating environment for skill development.
By providing a wide range of programs—including co-ed, gender-specific, and specialized tumbling classes, alongside popular options like Summer Camps and Birthday Parties—Central Gymnastics Academy establishes itself as a core component of youth athletic development in the Marietta, GA, area. The commitment to a positive coaching environment ensures that children build not just physical skills, but also crucial life skills such as confidence, poise, goal-setting, and a lasting habit of fitness.

Features / Highlights
The success and appeal of Central Gymnastics Academy are built upon several distinct highlights that cater directly to the needs of local Georgia families:
- High Student-to-Coach Ratios: Class ratios are intentionally low—for instance, 5:1 for two-year-olds and 8:1 for many older classes—ensuring that every child receives the patient attention, safety supervision, and individualized feedback needed to progress successfully.
- Family-Owned and Staff-Driven Quality: The gym is family-owned and operated, fostering a genuinely "family-friendly" atmosphere. The owners and staff possess extensive experience, often having been involved in gymnastics and dance since childhood, bringing deep, practical knowledge to their roles.
- Superb Facility and Equipment: The gym is equipped with top-tier apparatus, including a full-size competition floor, a GHSA foam floor, and safe training aids like an in-ground foam pit and trampoline. This ensures a professional yet safe environment for learning increasingly complex skills.
- Focus on Progressive Skill Development: The class structure moves children through clear levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, High Level), ensuring they learn correct terminology and proper form before attempting more difficult skills, which is crucial for safety and long-term athletic growth.
- Positive and Encouraging Environment: Customer reviews consistently praise the patient and welcoming nature of the coaches. As one customer noted, the instructors have "good control of the kids" and are "very welcoming," which helps children who might be "slow to get comfortable in a new environment."

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Brought my kids (2 and 3 years old) here for their first time today and it was a blast. They had so much fun! The instructors had good control of the kids (which was downtown impressive) and were able to move them from obstacle to obstacle smoothly. I thought it was an engaging and well run class!Would definitely recommend.
June 04 · James TerryWe look forward to our weekly classes at CGA! The coaches have been very patient with my kids, as they were slow to get comfortable in a new environment. There are a wide range of classes and times available. Stephanie is always excited to see my kids and very welcoming.
September 04 · Katelyn GrayRacist coaches. My daughter had been going for several years. Finally the last straw when she told me coach Kaylee pushed her. Coach Brooke had been taunting both my twins. I hate I didn’t take them out sooner. So sad that discrimination still exists. What a waste of years.
March 29 · jackie walkerWe’ve been very happy with our time at CGA. What I love about it as a parent is that it’s very flexible and low key. If your child misses a class, you can choose another class to do as a makeup class. They work with our busy lives and all of the illnesses that kids can get! And the style is very low key - if your child just wants a place to get some good exercise and have fun, they can do that here. If they want to really get better at gymnastics, they can do that, too.
July 15 · Sara McFall (My Merry Messy Life)My son just celebrated his 5th birthday with a party at Central Gymnastics. I was happy to see the facility was spotless and in excellent condition when we arrived. Our hostteacher (Devin), was very helpful, friendly, and absolutely great with the kids! Our friends and their children had an excellent time. We loved having the center to ourselves, and the foam pit proved to be very popular!I would absolutely highly recommend this to anybody looking for a great way to celebrate a birthday!
