★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This gym may be getting overlooked due to the new ones, but it's still a good gym. Has decent equipment, but nothing like the Elmwood, Colvin and Maple locations. It would be nice to have this one update, and no more cardio machines. The amout there is way too much.
June 04 · Britt BStaff is friendly and helpful. I work out early in the morning and have no problem using the equipment I want. They also have a very nice turf field and Olympic weightlifting section with bumper plates and sleds in addition to the more traditional machines and free weights.
July 20 · Aaron PowersI came here from Crunch and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! 98% of the people that come here are respectful, friendly, not rude in any way. The staff is usually always busy doing SOMETHING. Cleaning bottles are rarely empty and paper towels always full. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Alexa, Wyatt, Jenna and Luke are always welcoming when I come in and willing to help if I have a question. I do wish they would replace a few pieces of equipment that people hardly use with things people use more of. There's not really a GOOD shoulder press but on the flip side they have a standing shoulder press which is pretty cool. But to use the shoulder press I like I have to go to Broadway. An upgraded curl or preacher curl station wouldn't wouldn't hurt. But these are minor things. If your membership includes it, you can go to a number of gyms which have different features, and is convenient. I'm more towards Broadway when I'm working so I can hit Broadway quick instead of going to Wherle and back to Depew. All in all, it's the way a gym should be. I'm happy.
June 14 · Adam KrawczykIs this the best gym ever? No. Is it the worst gym ever? No. I have been going to Wherle for years now and it has slowly been declining since both Colvin and Maple opened. For starters simple things like refilling bathroom products (toilet paper, soap, paper towels) and hand sanitizer have become non existent. Additionally, the turf has holes and needs to be cleaned. Weights on both the turf and the cable machines are missing labels so it’s a guess as to how much you are lifting. I understand that improvements take time but it is also clear that basic housekeeping isn’t even happening some days. I also stopped used the hydromassagers because they were always broken. I’m not saying this place needs to be perfect but it could use some love and attention. At times it feels unfortunate that I pay $25 a month because I’m not quite sure what I’m getting for this price.
July 02 · Megan RutkowskiI signed up for a gym membership with Catalyst in December 2024. In March of 2025, I began having health issues as I had a knee injury and would now be unable to go to the gym. I contacted the Catalyst location I had regularly gone to, on Broadway St., in April 2025 and told the gentleman at the front desk that I had torn my meniscus and would be unable to attend the gym. I requested to cancel my membership and was told since it was due to an injury, it would be notated in my account and I would have no future charges. However, they still charged my card again. I called again and explained my injury and that I could not walk or drive. Now, in July Catalyst is saying I have a past due balance, there are no notes on my account and that my membership was never canceled. I emailed Michelle Mesel, who the front desk member of the club my contract was assigned to, said needed to be sent the proof of injury to cancel. I included a doctor's note describing the extent of the injury and why I could not go to the gym, my contract stating I can cancel due to injury, and the actual MRI reports of the tear. Michelle said that my membership still could not be canceled, even with the proof and that there was a past due balance from April-July because the original report of my injury was never notated in their system.Update: About a day or two after I posted this review I was told if I take care of the past due balance my membership would be canceled. There was a past due balance of $84.98 (which Michelle worked with me on for the inconvenience) from the lack of notation of the initial call. I paid the balance even though it was no fault of my own and was granted the cancelation.
