What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Cascade Athletic Club - Gresham is worthwhile for the Oregon user who values variety, comprehensive amenities, and a true family-club environment. If you are tired of minimalist gyms and are looking for a place where you can manage your personal training, play a competitive game of racquetball, take a swim, and enroll your children in a supervised activity all under one roof, this club offers unmatched value in the area. The three-acre facility is continually invested in, meaning members benefit from updated equipment and diverse class offerings.
However, local users with mobile infants should exercise caution regarding the Kids Club, as reviews have highlighted inconsistencies in staff adherence to the policy requiring staff to remain within three steps of infants. Parents must be aware that, as a gym childcare facility, it may be exempt from the stringent state licensing requirements that govern traditional childcare centers. While the main gym facilities are generally praised, parents should personally investigate and monitor the childcare area to ensure comfort and safety standards are met, particularly during busy periods.
Despite some customer service challenges noted by one member, the overwhelming positive sentiment points toward a club that provides exceptional physical resources and programming. For Oregon families seeking a clean, spacious, and amenity-rich environment that supports the health and fitness goals of every family member, Cascade Athletic Club in Gresham provides a robust, all-in-one solution that goes far beyond a basic gym membership.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm sharing this experience to help other parents make informed decisions about childcare safety at this location. On September 23, 2025, I checked my three children (ages 8 months, 4, and 6) into the Kids Club around 5:15 PM. When I returned approximately 15 minutes later, I observed my 8-month-old daughter sitting alone in a corner by the large play structure, approximately 15-20 feet from the two staff members who were seated at a table. During the 30 seconds I watched through the window, no adult approached her while several older children were running and playing actively in the same area. The facility has a policy requiring staff to remain within 3 steps of infants at all times that parents read and sign before allowing their children to be at Kids Club. This policy was not being followed. When I discussed this with the shift lead that evening (no managers were available on-site), we reviewed security footage which showed:1. Staff placing my infant in the middle of the room alone, then walking away to sit down2. My daughter crawling away from supervision toward the play equipment area3. An older child stepping over her while carrying a toy bike overhead4. A near-miss incident with another child on a riding toy5. Staff taking approximately 30 seconds to retrieve her from the unsupervised areaIMPORTANT FOR PARENTS TO KNOW: Gym childcare facilities may be exempt from Oregon's childcare licensing requirements if parents remain on the premises. This means they may not be subject to the same supervision standards, staff training requirements, or safety regulations that apply to licensed childcare centers, which require staff to maintain sight and sound contact with children at all times and follow specific staff-to-child ratios.I've notified management in writing about these supervision gaps. Parents of mobile infants should be aware that the posted safety policies may not be consistently followed during busy periods, and regulatory oversight may be limited. The gym facilities themselves are good, but I cannot recommend the childcare services based on this experience.
September 24 · Natasha SmithI had a disappointing experience at Cascade Athletic Clubs. Unfortunately, Mason was really rude and unprofessional during my visit. His attitude made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I expected a friendly and supportive environment, but this was not the case. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future.
June 16 · Alex Hack'sI LOVE my gym! From the moment you park in their extra wide parking spots, and you are greeted at the desk with such a friendly, cheerful crew, you feel welcomed in this family owned athletic facility! The hours areexceptionally accommodating for early birds, and night owls! The locker rooms and showers are always clean and never too busy! There is so much space and such a wide variety of activities available to work every body part depending on your preference, that you can always try something new or different! The equipment is amazing, and they are always updating, remodeling, and staying up with what’s popular with their clients! As you can tell, it’s an easy place to love coming to for staying in your best healthy, strong and powerful shape!
July 25 · Joy Kolesnikoff, NDI’ve been going to Cascade for about a year and am loving all the new updates. Last night was my first time back to the newly opened studio and I took the cardio 30 and power 60 class with Alicia. The class with vibing and space was refreshing.
July 22 · Tim & Yelena G.I love Cascade! They have all the equipment you may need plus amazing classes like TRIBE. What originally brought me to Cascade was their top notch childcare. When I had my son in 2022 I needed a gym that I could trust and Cascade was the only one I could find. Not only is the staff amazing, they treat you like family. They also have an amazing outdoor pool with a slide, splash pad and separate area for babies & toddlers. My family loves it! I highly recommend Cascade! ~Rachel
