★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This location Is incredibly clean, well staffed, welcoming, friendly, and generally a pleasure to visit every single time (even when I personally don’t feel like working out - ha). I very much like the layout of the facility and the placement of the machines, locker rooms and bathrooms, and the pool/sauna/steam room area. Even the water fountains are placed in such a way that each time I need a refill or just a quick sip, there is one just steps away. Again, the staff is always upbeat and helpful. I have also only experienced very kind and friendly fellow members. Highly recommend!
September 05 · Sophia RossiHi! it’s a beautiful facility, active with people, and the staff are amazing and so friendly. However, as national members, we were not able to drop off our child in childcare. We have stopped in so many cities and I’ve been able to utilize the services YMCA offers. We are not rich and one of the best parts of the YMCA is that I’m able to drop my child off while I do some work/fill out applications, even shower. It’s pretty frustrating considering we were in a really nice part of town. It seems like an organization that should be focused on public service is focusing on exclusivity. Now this could be presumptive and I hope that’s not the case. This was a decision made by leadership and I would like to know why… how many national members could possibly be coming in on a daily basis that they need to create a rule like this. I just feel like this is not in the interest of the regular working class.
July 01 · Gabrielle RobinsonMy husband and I have been members for 3 years and love this YMCA. Everyone is friendly, classes are great and we love the energy here.Edit: Changed from 5 stars to 4 stars due to a negative interaction with a front desk staff member named Dorothy. She was assigned to assist us, and while we understand she may have been new and unfamiliar with the computer system, her condescending tone, poor listening skills, and judgmental attitude were inexcusable. This behavior does not reflect the professionalism and values we expect from YMCA staff. I hope management addresses this matter directly with her or ensures that future hires are kinder, more compassionate, and better aligned with the YMCA’s mission.
August 25 · Holly HappyThe Carl E. Sanders YMCA location is the best Y facility I’ve ever seen. They offer so many great group workout classes, their tennis and pickleball programs are fun to be apart of and the facility is so clean and tidy!!! Not to mention, the staff is so helpful and sweet! There are opportunities to volunteer in their community Y events which is also amazing and I definitely recommend getting a membership here!
April 30 · Logan CheliseDisappointing behavior from a nonprofit. Make sure you keep a copy of the paper cancellation form. After I cancelled, my family had a lot of changes with some difficulties over a few months, and I was terrible at checking my credit card statements. Discovered I had been billed $120 a month for 10 months after I cancelled, so that’s $1200 stolen from me. I was met with an attitude that basically accused me of lying about cancelling, with them saying several times, “we’ll check our files to see if we can find your form,” which apparently takes them weeks to look in a file. They finally said they’d refund 3 months and we said that’s not good enough, then they ghosted us. Never got a response about finding my paper form so I’m assuming they did find it and they didn’t want to admit they were wrong.Apparently disputing a transaction also does not cancel your membership, as I did the month after I was charged but I had cancelled, so that’s actually a pro-tip for those out there looking to get a free membership. Sign up with a credit card, then dispute it every single month - they won’t cancel, and you’ve got a free membership! Hope this helps someone.
