★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1So my partner and I signed up for a membership earlier this year. We discovered that we can get a steeply discounted membership through Genesis health club via my job so we canceled April 21st. We were advised at that time since it was less than 30 days for my scheduled payment being due that April 27th would be the last fee processed. When we signed up for the membership, both of our names are on one form. One charge, every month, for a couple. We recently discovered that we were charged for May and June. I just went in and the owner was there. She blamed me because since we had a joint membership, both of our names should have been on the cancellation form. Well, they were on the form when we joined. So why they would not be linked on the same account makes no sense when ONLY ONE charge comes out every month. And HIS name is the one on the checking account. No apologies, no accountability. I literally called her out on it and nothing. More victim blaming. Just constantly telling me what I should have done. I don't trust that she refunded the May membership fee and will be disputing with the bank. As someone who has managed customer experience departments for years, this is very disappointing coming from the owner of the business. While we had a great experience working out, I guess you never see someone's true colors until you break up.EDIT:WE BOTH WENT IN TOGETHER TO CANCEL. AND WHEN I RETURNED TO FOLLOW UP ON THE APRIL 27TH PAYMENT WE DID NOT REALIZE WAS COMING OUT, I GAVE THE MAN AT THE DESK BOTH OF OUR NAMES. BUT INSTEAD OF TAKING OWNERSHIP FOR HER EMPLOYEES MISTAKES, YOU SEE SHE WANTS TO VICTIM BLAME.
June 30 · April ShieldsWhen I cancelled my membership they kept charging my card. Went in to talk with them about it and they immediately told me that I filled out their form incorrectly. I filled it with while their desk person was there. They didn't give me anything to show that I canceled. Luckily I took a picture of the form before I handed it over. I would never do business with them again
June 30 · David BrownMy name is Linda Singer. I am a 77 year old retired Physical Therapist who knows the importance of exercise. At my home, I have all the exercises equipment. However, I began lacking motivation to exercise. Then a friend invited me to join Blue Bicycle to play Pickleball which I really enjoy. So in May of 2023, I joined the gym. But I soon discovered all the other great opportunities that are available here. Jan Schmidt, the owner of Blue Bicycle, has a Team of qualified passionate instructors, including Jan herself! Exercising with other people is very motivating and fun. Thanks so much to the Blue Bicycle Team for inspiring me to exercise regularly again which has changed my life dramatically for the better!
February 07 · linda and Forest singer and Newheart5 star quality people that worked here formerly. Had a few real lifelong friends I ran into in this gym. Gym isn't the most modern, but the equipment gets the job done, theres always a good vibe amongst the people, and space to get a good workout in with no egos. There are for sure subtle issues with the ownership, the equipment is outdated, and there is definitely an energy of people that dont want you there. The people are fine, some of the staff for sure comes off disrespectful though. Owner is spine-less, as is the staff. Wonderful folks in the rest of the gym though.
March 21 · The Wiseguys TCGI joined about a month ago. I am pleased with the gym. I do think additional classes would be nice but based on the affordability and price. What they offer is a good deal when comparing to other gyms in the area. I planned for this to be a supplemental gym but I go 4-5 days a week now. It’s helping me feel better. The people are very nice and friendly. The available hours are fair. I do like to get a coffee at Crows after as a treat. Good location!
