★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1one of the best gyms to work out at in new york city, hands-down, see details below---------excellent access by mass transit via the 1 or the A train, there is a Marshalls directly across the street so you can also get some shopping done-yes this gym is crowded however they do have a lot of machines so you can always get onto something very quickly-there is a large section of cardiovascular equipment and there is a very small amount of leg machines which means that there's always a queue if you want to train your legs. this is not a good thing. note however that they do have two seated leg-extension machines, which is obviously very popular, so that does help.-overall I sensed a positive attitude and mood at this gym (this is very important)-most of the girls and guys at this gym are very good looking (if you care about that sort of thing)-every single machine that I saw in the gym floor worked. i don't know why people are saying stuff is broken. i did not see a single machine that was broken (feb '25) during my visit-excellent temperature control. i was wearing a simple T-shirt and shorts and i did not feel too hot nor too cold during a hard workout session. this was on a day when the temperature was in the 20s and there was light snowfall outside in feb '25-the front desk staff was nice to me when I checked in. there was a girl at the front who went out of her way to help me as I had a personal need-many people are saying that this gym is this and that and so on and so forth in terms of complaints however the energy here combined with the fact that every single machine worked WITH fluid motion throughout the rep, and having people jump on and off so you could get your cycle in means that it is by far one of the best places to work out in manhattan, bar none. yes, there is room for improvement in some areas, however the core needs of any person wanting to exercise and get in shape are present here which is the most important thing: positive energy, every single machine is working, excellent temperature control, and you can always get in a quick set even when it's crowded, as every gym is in new york city
March 29 · Alex WilliamsOk, So where to start. Gym is a mess, only one semi working spin bike with gears caked in sweat and missing tow straps. The place ishot, guess the AC is not working. Only one working elevator guess the part is coming from the outer solar system since it’s been broken for over Six years.Head up to Riverdale only 15 mins away and at least they care.3/2025
March 11 · A BBlink Fitness is a good gym, especially if you're looking for a clean and friendly environment. Compared to the Planet Fitness on 177th, Blink has fewer machines and the space feels smaller overall. Planet has three levels—two of which are fully functional—giving you more room and options. However, Blink still gets the job done and you can tell people there are more relaxed and focused. It's a solid gym if you value a calm atmosphere, even if it's not as big or equipped as other locations.
July 11 · Jhonny ReyesIt’s an okay gym but always ridiculously crowded. Additionally it often takes 10+ minutes to get into the actual gym because one of the two elevators are almost always non-operational and they only allow 4 people per elevator. Would recommend another gym if you have the option.
July 08 · Garrett AllingtonThe owner truly doesn’t care for his clients. One of the elevator hasn’t been functioning for over a month and the door is locked which I think is a fire hazard because staff say the owner keeps the keys. With 1 elevator that is working they only allow 4 people in when the limit is 2,500 pounds, making us wait for over 10 mins to get in once the gym opens.. let me not mention the issues the gym has. An area has been having water issues for months, another area leaks whenever it rains! Owner truly doesn’t care! Go elsewhere. Do better! Giving it a few more weeks if not to planet fitness I go..UPDATE 8/19/24: 1 elevator is still out of service . A handful of machines are out of services. Officially canceling my membership and going to PF.
