Best Workout Barre None Introduce
For New Yorkers seeking a fitness regimen that is both highly effective and gentle on the body, Best Workout Barre None offers a compelling and unique solution. This fitness center, located on the Upper East Side, is not a typical gym but a specialized studio that has perfected the art of the barre workout. Co-founded by former Broadway dancer Alexander DeJong, the studio’s approach is rooted in precision, form, and grace. It is a place where strength meets elegance, and where every movement is intentional. Unlike a standard gym, which can often feel overwhelming and impersonal, Best Workout Barre None provides an intimate and focused environment that feels more like a private training session than a large class. This is a destination for those who are serious about refining their bodies, improving their posture, and building functional strength through a low-impact, high-intensity workout.
The philosophy of Best Workout Barre None centers on the belief that fitness should be restorative as well as challenging. The workouts are a creative and effective fusion of movements from ballet, yoga, Pilates, and physical therapy, all set to an upbeat and engaging playlist. This unique combination ensures a comprehensive, full-body workout that targets every muscle fiber, leaving you feeling stronger, longer, and more aligned. The small class sizes are a key feature, allowing instructors to give personalized attention and hands-on feedback to each participant. This level of detail is a significant factor in the quality of the workout, as it ensures proper form and helps prevent injuries. For those with a dance background or those who have been searching for a workout that challenges and refines their body, as noted in a glowing review, this studio delivers on all fronts. However, a dance background is not a prerequisite; the instructors are skilled at making the class accessible and effective for everyone, regardless of their experience level.
The studio has cultivated a reputation as a "best-kept secret" on the Upper East Side, cherished by a loyal community of followers. This sense of exclusivity and intimacy is a major part of its appeal, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The dedication of the instructors, particularly Alexander DeJong, is a common theme in customer feedback. His meticulous attention to detail and his ability to push clients to their limits while maintaining a sense of safety and alignment are frequently praised. The workouts are described as "one of the hardest barre classes" a customer had ever taken, yet the presence of stretching blocks in between challenging segments makes the experience manageable and effective. The positive and encouraging energy of the instructors and the community is what keeps clients coming back, making it a place where you can not only transform your body but also find a sense of belonging and motivation.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It really is the best barre class!! Alexander and all of the instructors he brings in are so attentive to detail. As a former ballet dancer, I’ve spent years searching for a workout that challenges/refines/maintains my body, prevents injuries and makes me feel great. BARRE NONE delivers all of that and more. The workouts are intense yet low-impact, leaving me feeling stronger, longer, and more aligned. Plus, the intimate studio atmosphere makes it feel like a best-kept secret. Whether you have a dance background or not, this place won't disappoint. Highly recommend!
March 01 · Emily McNeelyI started taking Alexander’s class a few weeks ago because I teach down the street and kept passing their sign! As an instructor myself, I have been craving this type of full body workout. It is one of the hardest barre classes I have ever taken, and truly targets every muscle fiber! Alex is an amazing instructor and offers hands on feedback that allows you to effectively move through each rep feeling strong and aligned. The flow of the class is great because we also get stretches in between the really challenging blocks. I will definitely keep coming back!
May 01 · stephanie russoAlexander is the best barre/anything instructor working in NYC right now! I can say it because I've been doing barre classes for the last 20 years, and I've tried (and loved) them all, but Alexander is the best. His classes fly by, and have the best mix of intense focus on particular muscle groups mixed with amazing stretching. He also gives the most positive and helpful comments to help your positions get better. I started to see and feel changes in my body after only a couple of classes. Couldn't recommend Barre None more!
May 02 · Malda HibriLove this studio! Alexander and Barbara give classes with great attention to alignment and full body strengthening. Alex, with a background in theater and dance, always adds warmth and humor to his classes…along with fantastic music. I always come out of class feeling lighter (even if a bit sore!) and healthier. Highly recommend them as it is truly the Best Barre workout!
May 03 · Amy GlaswandBestWorkout Barre None truly lives up to its name! Alexander is an amazing teacher. His humor and charisma help the class move quickly. He and Lancelot watch and correct your form to prevent injuries and help you get the most out of each exercise. They do yoga stretches between each segment to stretch the muscles just worked. You'll be sore after the class, but it's a "good sore." I'd choose Barre None over a personal trainer any day!
