In a state like Connecticut, where community ties are so important, choosing a fitness center that aligns with your values is paramount. Beat The Street Community Center stands out not just for its programs, but for its mission. Choosing us means investing in a place that has a proven track record of positively impacting young people's lives for decades. We are a non-profit organization, which means our primary focus is on the well-being of our members, not on generating a profit. This is a crucial distinction that translates into high-quality, affordable programming that genuinely serves the needs of the community. As a supporter mentioned, we are a "diamond" because we provide what is needed most.
The unique range of our services, from amateur boxing to hip-hop dance and career development, provides a holistic approach to youth development that is rare to find. We are not a one-dimensional gym. We understand that fitness is just one part of a healthy life, and we offer programs that address educational and professional growth as well. The fact that a former participant brought their own children to us speaks volumes about the trust and lasting positive memories we create. This multi-generational trust is a powerful testament to our success.
Furthermore, the supportive and safe environment we provide is invaluable. For parents in Connecticut, knowing that their children are in a place that promotes discipline, respect, and self-confidence is a top priority. Our center is a place where young girls are encouraged to learn self-defense through boxing, a point one review highlighted as being particularly important. Choosing Beat The Street means choosing a place that provides physical, mental, and social growth. We invite you to become a part of our family and help us continue to make a profound, positive difference in the Meriden community and beyond.

Beat The Street Community Center Reviews
hello
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is a diamond in our community for young people. I fully support keeping this program in Meriden aa long as we can. My kids went there when they were younger and I know many other adults who found Beat the Street when there was little else affordable that offered high quality health and fitness programming for kids and teens. I really think we should advocate more of our young girls to take an interest in boxing and fitness. No one can protect a young women as well as she has the potential to protect herself.
November 09 · Eyes SparklesSigned my kids up today. I went here when i was (2002) 14 to 25. I used to box and teach dance. He still has all my trophies and banners up from the dance competition. SUPER HAPPY TO SEE ALL THE PROGRAMS PLUS MORE STILL RUNNING. Now, I have my kids going, and it felt so nostalgic!!! This place is worth going to. The whole family is back in BOXING!!!
April 30 · Vannesa ReyesI live in Florida now I'm 18 years old my name is Dakota Hall I used to go to beat the street all the time as a kid it taught me so much and helped me especially learn how to be the man of the house in my household. Both Carlos's taught me so much and were like family friends to me and my family. This place has such a special place in my heart if I could ever go back to visit I will. Now I teach the kids around my neighborhood how to box and teach them some of that wisdom I was given from this place. Thanks to all the memories, thanks to the teachers, thanks to the entire community. The events they put for Christmas and stuff and just everything they did was all just amazing. Much love.
October 15 · Dakota HallVery positive please very friendly lot of things to do has a small musty odor 😁 for young kids to learn boxing, dancing and to get fit
August 28 · Jennifer PuyarenaThey are a community center for kids and adults. They help keep kids off the streets offering boxing singing dancing. They even have access to computers. The only issue is that there is a flight of stairs to get there so it is not accessible to everyone.
