Personal Training: The gym offers both one-on-one personal training and small group training. These services are designed to provide members with expert guidance, motivation, and a customized workout plan. However, a customer review notes that the staff is "rarely staffed," which may impact the availability and consistency of this service.

The core selling points of Anytime Fitness in Monroeville are its convenience and the amenities it provides.
24/7 Access: This is the gym’s most significant feature, allowing members to work out at any time of day or night. This flexibility is a major factor for those who choose this gym, as highlighted in a customer review where the only reason for keeping the membership was "Convenience and 24-hour access."

Full Weight Room: The gym has a full weight room with a variety of free weights and equipment for strength training, which is a key feature for dedicated lifters.

For a local resident of Pennsylvania, deciding to join a gym requires careful consideration of both the promises and the reality of the experience. The primary reason to choose Anytime Fitness in Monroeville is the unparalleled convenience of its 24/7 access. For people with erratic work schedules, late-night workouts, or a preference for avoiding peak-hour crowds, this feature is invaluable. As one reviewer stated, this is the "only reason" to keep the membership, which speaks to its significance.
However, it is crucial to balance this convenience with the highly critical and detailed feedback from multiple long-term members. The most significant concern is the chronic issue of broken and poorly maintained equipment. Reviews repeatedly mention broken treadmills, a sticking Smith machine, and new, low-quality replacements that don’t work correctly. This ongoing problem suggests that despite promises of "upgrades," the gym has failed to invest in fixing its core equipment, instead opting for cosmetic changes like painting and installing a new vending machine. This is a major red flag for anyone who wants a reliable and functional gym experience. The fact that the water fountains have also been out of service, with cases of water being offered instead, further illustrates a pattern of neglect in basic maintenance.
Another point of concern is the staff and management. Multiple reviewers have noted that the gym is "rarely staffed," which can make it difficult to get assistance. Furthermore, the communication from management has been described as impersonal and disingenuous, with one reviewer expressing frustration about receiving an outreach message after having already provided detailed feedback that was apparently ignored. This suggests a disconnect between management and the member experience. For someone seeking a community vibe and helpful, approachable staff, this may not be the right environment.
In conclusion, while Anytime Fitness in Monroeville offers the undeniable benefit of 24/7 access, prospective members should be fully aware of the significant issues with equipment maintenance and staff presence. While a simple membership might seem appealing, the value is diminished by the risk of encountering broken machines and a lack of on-site support. This gym is best suited for individuals who are willing to overlook these significant issues in exchange for the flexibility of being able to work out at any time. For those who prioritize reliable equipment and strong customer service, other gyms in Monroeville, such as LA Fitness or Planet Fitness, as suggested by a long-term member, may be a better option.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Original Review (ca. March 2025): Been going here for a year now. Since starting at least one of the ten treadmills has been “out of service.” Currently it is up to four. That’s 60%. Failing. The floor is warped. And now they’re wanting to spend money on cleaners? Make your staff clean like you used to and spend the money on fixing or replacing equipment. Now the Smith machine is sticking. It takes 2 mins to WD-40 the machine so it doesn’t break like 40% of the other equipment has. Empty promises of new equipment. Going here because there are really no other options. Sad excuses.Update (ca. April 2025): more broken equipment. But THEY PAINTED!! Congrats on doing literally nothing to improve the experience here. The walls look GREAT!!Update 2 (06/04/2025): this is a fruitless effort. Two months ago, they told me, other patrons, potential new clients, and the world (Google) that they were working on a more permanent solution. I’m here to tell you that they’re not. It appears that their permanent solution is to buy a new vending machine! Congrats, you’re wasting your members’ money on a vending machine instead of fixing the broken, ancient treadmills! The four treadmills that were broken are still broken. And as you can see I’ve updated since with other equipment as it breaks — don’t let the 48 hour sign fool you, either, it takes them an average of two weeks to fix a machine. And Mark, the third or fourth Club Manager in the last 18 months, you need to work on your member outreach skills. I posted this review months ago, and now you’re asking me to write you a review because my “consistency doesn’t go unnoticed.” How am I going unnoticed when you don’t even know who I am? I filled out your survey weeks ago, too, and told you everything that I’ve said here and more. This place is going downhill and it’s already in the gutters…Update 3 (08/01/2025):It’s hard to believe that things can get worse but they are. Of the three treadmills they replaced (with low-quality treadmills), one of them doesn’t allow you to change speed after so much time has passed. I guess interval training isn’t important? I typically do a 3 minute progressive warm-up and after only 90 seconds the first treadmill wouldn’t let me increase my speed anymore. And since the “renovations” the water fountains have been out of service and they have cases of water sitting on the broken water fountains. Glad to know my membership fees are going toward cases of water instead of high quality equipment.I question my sanity every time I come in here… why do I keep this membership? Convenience and 24-hour access. That’s the only reason. Stop texting me that you “see my commitment” when I’ve never spoken to you. You don’t know me. It’s weird and honestly insulting.
August 01 · Michael SalemYou’ve guessed it, I’m another unsatisfied gym goer. I’d like to start off by saying as of probably 2 weeks ago the treadmills are all back in service again but they were out of service since 5/21 at the very least, it could’ve been longer that’s just when I noticed it!In late march we received an email from the gym stating that they were doing “upgrades/remodeling” during April and that part of the gym would be under construction. This was great news to most of us because a lot of the equipment is pretty dated in this gym, so I was patient and waited out these remodels. By mid April they were finished with said remodels and the only thing they did was paint, but surely the new vending machine they put in last month will make everyone happy right ?I’ve been going to this gym for two years now and I can confidently say it is the worst maintained gym in Monroeville, save yourself some money and go to La fitness or planet fitness! Good luck getting a hold of somebody because they are rarely staffed!
July 31 · MarCella SanfordTotally went downhill in the last year or two. They used to be so nice, clean and accommodating but the guy who claims to be the manager is a snarky little cuss. Not sure what his problem is but I wound up finding a much better place.
July 26 · Chris DeCarloHas gone down hill in a bad way since the ownership change. They’ve essentially started putting up signs letting you know what work they don’t want to do anymore. By they I mean the new owners, I’m assuming. Equipment is falling apart. Bathrooms are dirty. They won’t put soap in showers. Some tvs on treadmills don’t work. Some treadmills barely work. And there’s no longer management in office. At least for a while now. Some equipment they just plain get rid of, even while it still works(not them though) Have been a member for 4-5 years now. It used to be a nice place. If you have no expectations in a gym, or for your money, this will probably be “good enough.”
February 27 · Joshua JamesNOBODY GO TO THIS GYM!! If it was an option to give them no stars I would!! I was at this gym for 7.5 years and most of that time thought I had a good relationship with the trainers there. They got new ownership almost a year ago and since then the trainers have become VERY rude!! My mom has dealt with EXTREMELY bad health issues for the last 5.5 years. And I’ve been her sole caregiver most of that time. Jackie told one of her clients I use my mom’s health issues to get sympathy for people!! When I confronted her about it, she wouldn’t even look at me. When she would work with this same client she would continue to say rude things about me. Her boyfriend even threatened to physically hit me!! Because I put a lot of time and effort into my workout, Brian said I workout like an old man!! Chris the club manager who told me he likes me and would act like we were best friends and even gave me his own personal cell phone number blocked me after I confronted these trainers about what they do this past Monday. The area manager acted like he cares, and then terminated me from the gym without even listening to my side of the story. But I have MANY people who know the truth about these trainers as Jackie has even said a disrespectful thing about a friend of mines fiancé!! So if you don’t like being disrespected, don’t go to this gym!!
