Zombie Muay Thai Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the vibrant and ever-moving landscape of New York City, Zombie Muay Thai offers a unique space for both physical discipline and personal empowerment. More than just a gym, this is a Muay Thai boxing academy dedicated to sharing the "Art of Eight Limbs" with people of all skill levels. Located in the heart of the city, Zombie Muay Thai is founded on the principles of hard work, technique, and community. The name itself, "Zombie," reflects the philosophy of becoming an "unrelenting, unstoppable force" through smart training and dedication. Whether you're a complete beginner looking to get in shape and learn self-defense or a seasoned athlete aiming to sharpen your skills, the trainers at Zombie Muay Thai are committed to helping you reach your goals. They provide a structured program that incorporates the technical combinations and conditioning regimens used by professional fighters, all in an environment that is designed to be inclusive and supportive. The gym's mission is to educate, strengthen, and empower, ensuring that every student feels confident and capable both inside and outside the ring. This is a place where every punch, kick, elbow, and knee is taught with precision, and where personal growth is just as important as physical prowess.
While some reviews reflect a personal experience of feeling a bit lost in the crowd, the gym's commitment to creating an all-levels academy is consistently highlighted by others. For many, the free trial class is a perfect opportunity to get a feel for the environment and the coaching style. As one beginner noted, they "felt very welcomed" and found the instructor to be "very patient," leaving them with a positive impression and a desire to return. This speaks to the gym's dual nature: a place for serious, authentic martial arts training that also strives to be a supportive home for newcomers. The staff is passionate about sharing their knowledge and is trained to break down complex movements in a way that is digestible for everyone. In a city where finding a gym that is both an athletic challenge and a welcoming community can be difficult, Zombie Muay Thai makes a concerted effort to strike this balance. It’s a place where you can learn a new skill, push your physical limits, and become part of a community that celebrates hard work and personal achievement.

The variety of classes, from "Technique & Conditioning" to "Pads & Drills," caters to different aspects of the sport, allowing members to build a well-rounded skill set. The inclusion of a Jiu-Jitsu program also adds to the gym's appeal, providing a comprehensive striking and grappling curriculum for those interested in a broader martial arts education.
While some reviews mention a less-than-perfect experience, the overwhelmingly positive feedback from other clients, especially beginners, highlights the gym's welcoming nature. The existence of a free trial class is a huge benefit, allowing you to test the waters and see if the environment is the right fit for you. As one new member shared, they felt "very welcomed" and found their coach "very patient," which is crucial when starting a new sport. The gym's focus on being good for kids and having an all-levels approach shows a genuine commitment to inclusivity, making it a place where the whole family can get involved. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place was such a great environment, and I felt very welcomed. As a beginner I was a little nervous getting into a combat sport again after so long. I came with a friend and we did a free trial class with Cha. He was very patient with us and taught us a lot in our first class. Definitely going to be coming back in the future loved the vibes. We went for a 12 PM class and it wasn’t too crowded.
August 14 · Gerardo RaagasI felt the class was very disorganized. It's definitely not good for beginners. People weren't friendly and were very cliquish. It was very uncomfortable. The coach did not help with my form. The facilities could be cleaner. This place charges more than other more established gyms that have produced great fighters. Looking at the website it looks like John is the only professional fighter. I don't recommend.
August 25 · Sara AtkinsThis gym rocks! As a beginner with a tiny bit of experience, I was looking to join a Muay Thai gym. I took trials at a few different Muay Thai gyms. They were all great, but what made me decide to join Zombie was that the trial class practiced as many defensive drills as it did offensive drills, which I really loved. And getting frequent feedback on my form during classes from world-class MT fighters and coaches set the deal for me. You train next to advanced fighters yet you still feel welcomed here as a beginner. Super excited to train here.
July 19 · Burc EryilmazBest Muay Thai gym you can ask for. Johnny, Vinny, Tobias and all the other coaches have top notch skills in both boxing and teaching, and most importantly, they are very kind and caring people while pushing you to achieve constant progress. It really feels like a community rather than just a place to work out. You won’t regret joining it.
April 08 · Feifei ZhouExcellent, well run gym with experienced coaches and clean facilities. I usually go to Vinny's classes and it's consistently high quality teaching while fun and engaging. The community is very welcoming and everyone builds each other up no matter the level, beginner and advanced alike. Highly recommend.
