What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Valley Wellness Center is an option for Pennsylvania residents who are looking for a facility with a broader scope than a traditional gym. The center's key value proposition lies in its diverse amenities and services. The availability of a swimming pool, basketball court, and especially a rock climbing gym, sets it apart from many other fitness centers in the region. For families, the fact that it is "good for kids" and offers youth classes is a significant draw, making it a place where all family members can find an activity they enjoy. The presence of a Wellness Cafe also speaks to its holistic approach, encouraging members to focus on nutrition and recovery as part of their overall health plan.
However, it is important for potential members to be aware of the feedback from current users. While the aesthetics and overall atmosphere are praised, with one reviewer noting it feels like a "Florida resort," there have been concerns raised about cleanliness, particularly in the shower and pool areas. A review from a customer highlights issues with maintenance and a perceived lack of responsiveness to feedback. It is worth considering these points and perhaps making a visit to the facility to see the conditions firsthand before committing to a membership. Despite these issues, the facility's extensive offerings, from personal training to a sauna and specialized rock climbing, make it a compelling choice for those seeking a wide variety of activities in a single location. The convenience of its location and the range of unique services make it a valuable resource for the Allentown community, particularly for those who prioritize a mix of activities over a single-focus gym.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Nice pool, and decent facilities. Could be so so much better. Their cleaners do a very poor job on cleanliness and seem fixated on pressure washing the poolside shower area. However, the shower stalls are really mouldy and dirty and no attempt seems to made to deal with that. Shower stalls and drains are constantly covered human hair that never gets removed. The soap and shampoo units are more frequently empty than full. The Nazareth YMCA did a much better job on cleanliness. For the pricing, the lack of cleanliness is appalling. Providing feedback is not welcomed at reception. A suggestion for management is to make it easy to provide feedback via a system where members can provide it easily and see actions being taken to rectify the issues. Not sure if it is lack of training, extremely low standards or just indifference. It should be fixed. Some front desk personnel can be rude and not helpful. Customer service training needed or switch them out. Again, compare to the Nazareth YMCA, performance is very poor.
January 22 · David CampbellIt is a beautiful and wonderful place to the right people. Upon entry, we are impressed with the building, the parking lot and the service desk and the very spacious lobby. Everything gives the aurora of a resort. the basketball court is NICE and clean. The bathrooms and family change rooms are nice. We did not try the machines. The drawback for us is the swimming pool. The room and water temperature is too not for training. For kids to play, there is no lifeguard on duty. Every piece of metal in the swimming area is rusty. The good part is that there are bicycles in the water for people to ride. Then i realized that it is called “Wellness Center”. Maybe it is meant for people to do therapy or recover or hang out. I hope the center could survive and prosper. I do not think it is for serious swimmers. but if you are close by, this center offers a lot of warmth and comfort and niceties like a Florida resort.
December 03 · Really UsefulI just joined this gym about a month ago and am severely disappointed. Based on the money I spent for the down payment ($300) , plus the 168/ mos for my daughter and me I was expecting a very clean, friendly, welcoming environment. By far, my biggest complaint is how dirty the locker rooms, pool and hot tub area is every time we have gone. Yesterday there were young kids in the indoor pool area eating chips/soda and dropping food in the pool. In all the times I have been there I have not seen one person cleaning the facility. At another gym I go to, a lady cleaned the locker room every hour during usage. This place is filthy. Also, the people at the desk don’t even say hi back when we greet them. Don’t waste your money here.
June 23 · Heather W.Nice gym, kind of clean. For $90 a month though there are barely any resistance bands, not much weights. And charges $12 a month on top of the $90 membership just to use towels to swim. Honestly the greediest gym I’ve ever been to and i’ve been to many gyms. You would think for $90 a month you could use towels, have a spotless gym to workout at and have a lot more little pieces of equipment such as bands.
June 18 · JUSTIN POLLOCKHusband and I joined approximately two years ago - paid annual dues for a small discount. Only used the weight room and no one was available to assist with usage of the machines. Few months after we joined, we both had health issues that kept us from using the gym. In order to freeze membership we would have had to pay more money. Our membership expired and months later, I noticed a charge on our credit card from the facility. Apparently we were being charged for towel service when no longer a member. My husband brought this to their attention. Charges stopped but we won't receive a reimbursement for the charges.
