★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I will do pros, cons and overall.Pros: Best gym in the city hands down. Gorgeous interior design (coming from an architect!) Top notch facilities. As a triathlete, I have access to ALL my training tools in at the gym. I love the pool. The pool and locker room facilities are, for the most part, very clean. Excellent classes, great instructors, and great offerings for group fitness. The weightlifting floor is great. All the equipment you could ever want, large and expansive space. Also, a wonderful community. I’ve made friends here and I am constantly inspired and uplifted by the fellow athletes here. It is much more than a gym, it’s a lifestyle! I also find that the front of house staff are really engaged and friendly. They communicate regularly and rapidly with their members, which is good. There is a great community here and the facility is hands down the best, most elegant, social, and versatile I’ve seen in the Philadelphia area. It’s hard to beat.Cons: The gym continues to predominantly cater to a daytime crowd. It closes earlier than most gyms and doesn’t offer the same amount of classes for the 9-5 working people. EVERYONE wants the gym to be open later, especially on Fridays and weekends! There is a high demand for this. Itgym gets REALLY crowded after work, and there are fewer classes outside of working hours. The locker rooms get cleaned and shut down while the gym is open at night. Operations and scheduling for deep cleaning and closing should be adjusted so as to not shut down while members are still using the open and operating facility.. All members should have the same experience regardless of time of day. I will say I’ve seen changes but the issue has never been fully resolved. I think staying open later would alleviate some of this.Overall: it’s a great gym, all of the facilities, staff and management are all top notch and very well maintained. For a more “luxury” gym, no one is pretentious or stuck up and it’s a really friendly and welcoming space. They have lots of fun events and do a great job of cultivating a sense community and engaging and motivating their members. I really hope they extend their night hours and change their housekeeping scheduling to not be shutting down on top of members. Even with this flaw, I adore the gym, spend lots of time here, and happily recommend it to anyone who asks. My mom joined too!
August 08 · Amira BrahimiAn incredible sporting club with a top notch fitness floor. You can spend the better part of your day here between classes, the pool, the courts, the golf simulator, the lounges, even a hair salon and cafe. The members are generally friendly and polite. The atmosphere is positive. The employees are excellent and I’ve noticed very little turnover during the year I’ve been here.Regrettably, the showers are unacceptably filthy and the whole shower area reeks of mildew. Housekeeping works hard, but management isn’t properly scheduling deep cleaning of the showers. The grout is full of mildew, the showers have drain worm larvae, and other staining and debris.Additionally, management isn’t properly maintaining the showers as two of them are out of service, one now for about 3 months. The locker rooms are also not being deep cleaned. The carpets are stained and often smell. Just look up at the air vent and see it’s never ever been cleaned. This isn’t acceptable at any price point, but especially not at $200 a month.I’ve brought this in writing to the club’s attention more than once, which they respond to in writing, but don’t do enough regular deep cleaning. This could easily be a 5 star venue, and one of the better gyms in the country, but they have to do a better job deep cleaning the showers and locker rooms.
June 27 · WHands down the best gym in the city. It’s more than a gym, with so many amenities such as basketball gym, golf simulators, pool, sauna, barbershop, cafe, rooftop lounges and more. The staff (especially Thea who gave us tours and helped with the sign up) is incredible. Fresh towels, clean, attentive and always saying good morning. Not sure where the negative reviews come from, never an issue with scheduling or getting on machines, always a healthy balance of people here but never overly crowded. Plus who would want a gym that no one’s at anyway?
January 25 · James GentileIf you’re looking for a top-tier fitness club in Philadelphia, you need look no further than The Sporting Club at The Bellevue. I’ve been a member since shortly after they reopened, and it offers a great mix of fitness opportunities. First off, the space is massive with several floors of workout areas, studios, courts, and even a pool. Whether you’re into strength training, cardio, yoga, squash or pickleball, they have it all (including tournaments). The equipment is well-maintained, and there’s always plenty available, even during peak hours. The group fitness classes are a huge perk with excellent—knowledgeable instructors. The personal trainers here are top-notch, offering well-designed programs that actually deliver results. The locker rooms are spotless and well-stocked, and the steam room /sauna are perfect for unwinding after a tough workout. The pool is also a great bonus, whether you want to swim laps or just relax.Overall, The Sporting Club is more than just a gym—it’s a full wellness experience. If you’re serious about fitness but also appreciate a little luxury, I highly recommend checking it out! As a special bonus, they also have great parties, including the recent Super Bowl & Eagles Victory!
February 25 · Michael MillerI’m a new member but so far am really enjoying the facilities and classes. I haven’t found it difficult to get into yoga or Pilates classes (Admittedly, I’m taking them during the day.) The locker room, hot tub, and sauna are well-appointed.
