This article will provide an in-depth look at what makes The Practice Space a cherished destination for wellness in the Oregon region.
The philosophy of The Practice Space is centered on helping people feel good in their bodies and achieve their wellness goals in a way that is both effective and sustainable. For many, this has been a transformative experience. One reviewer, who had been getting injured at other studios, found that Pilates at The Practice Space was a huge help in managing their scoliosis. This is a testament to the immense knowledge and high-quality training of the instructors, who are dedicated to making each session safe and beneficial. They are always open to hearing about "specific body issues or aches before class" to incorporate them into the routine, a level of care that sets them apart. The positive energy from all the teachers, from Hannah to Scarlett, is frequently highlighted, making every visit a fantastic experience. This focus on individual well-being within a collective, encouraging atmosphere is a cornerstone of the studio's success.
The Practice Space is conveniently located at 4220 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97215, USA. This prime location places it in the heart of southeast Portland, a neighborhood known for its lively and walkable streets. They offer group lessons and provide flexible pricing options with a 5-Class Card and a 10-Class Card.
Pilates Mat Classes: This is a core offering with a variety of pricing options, including a Mat Class Drop In, a 4-Pilates Mat Classes monthly membership, and an 8-Pilates Mat Classes monthly membership. Mat classes are a foundational part of Pilates, focusing on core strength and body control.

Options include an Equipment Class Drop In, a 1 Equipment Class per week membership, and a 2 Equipment Classes per week membership. Semi-Private & Private Sessions: For a more personalized experience, The Practice Space provides one-on-one and small group training. A "Semi-Private Pilates Class" is a small group session, typically with 2-3 students, providing more individual attention than a standard class without the cost of a private session. Private sessions are also available in single sessions or a package of five, allowing for a fully customized workout plan. These are particularly valuable for those with specific injuries or needs, like scoliosis.
Specialty Classes & Offers: The studio has creative class names and special offers, such as the "Trade Off - Jump Board Class," which utilizes a jump board on the Pilates reformer for a low-impact, high-intensity cardio workout. They also offer a fantastic introductory deal of "$30 for 30 Days" for unlimited Mat and Yoga classes, and "$90 for 30 Days" for unlimited Mat, Yoga, and Equipment classes, making it easy for newcomers to try everything the studio has to offer.

"Vigorous" classes are ideal for students who have no injuries, have been taking classes for some time, and want that extra push. This traditional mat class includes the 32 exercises from Joseph Pilates original text Contrology. We keep to the text to the best of our abilities but will also add preparatory movements or palate cleansers so your body feels worked and amazing at the end. There is something to be said about this approach!

"Active" classes are great for the mover who wants a workout but is still safe for those who may be newer to the method. Habit could also stand for “human-anatomical-baseline-integration-technique...” Sound geeky? Because it is! Our Habit classes are all about technique. These classes teach the Pilates method’s most authentic principles! Our habit classes are about you, human health, sound anatomical mechanics, finding your body’s physical baseline and working from there. It’s about integrating the movement into your daily actions, and about bringing that technical approach to life. This class is paced at an active level.
- Mat Class Drop In $16.00
Drop-in classes and class cards don’t expire. Use them as you need them!
- One Private Session $80.00
- Trade Off - Jump Board Class
"Vigorous" classes are ideal for students who have no injuries, have been taking classes for some time, and want that extra push. As you become more skilled in the Pilates repertoire, there are new and fun ways to challenge your ability to maintain those skills. By increasing the tempo of your movement, changing the resistance, reducing the base of support, or ADDING A JUMP BOARD, we make this class our most vigorous option. Don’t trade-off your alignment for the challenge, but see what challenge point you can achieve. And who knows, you may surprise yourself!

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Looking for a Yoga or Pilates studio, look no further! Everyone at the studio is warm and genuinely dedicated to promoting wellness! I love the instructors at The Practice Space. My favorite is Kimi, who teaches Vinyasa Yoga and Sustainable Strength classes. Each session is unique, and she is always open to any specific body issues or aches before class to incorporate them into her routine. I appreciate the positive vibe from all the teachers, from Hannah to Scarlett—they're all fantastic!Parking is convenient, with a bus stop right out front, and there are plenty of bike racks, food carts, coffee options, and parks nearby!
May 02 · Molly BrownBest pilates studio period. I started with pilates here as I felt I was getting injured too often with yoga or at trendy chains. Their instructors are immensely knowledgeable and trained. I find pilates and this studio in particular to be a huge help to managing my scoliosis.
February 18 · Emma MeskillExceptional pilates studio. The instructors really focus on doing the movements correctly, which I appreciate. Lovely, light space, and their membership options are more affordable than other studios in the area. They also have CoreAlign classes, which are hard to find and really amazing pilates equipment.
March 31 · Lindsay HerzogMy second home. All of the instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and fun to work out with. It's in a lovely space with lots of equipment. If you haven't tried Pilates this is the place to go. I was a complete beginner when I started, but with three private sessions a week my body has completely changed! I have muscles in places I never knew I had and I am feeling more and more in alignment. My chronic neck pain has been getting better, too. I normally get bored with workouts after a couple of months but after five months here I still look forward to going. Awesome selection of group classes as well! I cannot recommend this place enough.
October 27 · Whitney StockardI started at this studio in July after trying out pilates at home. I’m so glad that I did because it’s changed my perception of working out and movement entirely. The studio is such a calming and welcoming environment with extremely friendly and knowledgeable teachers. the owner is super kind and cares a lot about the staff and the members.the classes are small enough where you get the attention you need to make sure you have the best form possible. the teachers really take the time to get to know and remember you which adds to the community feeling.the membership is pricey but well worth it; especially considering how flexible the studio is when you need to pause your membership if you are leaving for vacation or won’t be using your membership for a little while.if you’re in the fence about joining they even offer two free classes to try it out which is what ultimately led me to join. y’all are the best, thank you for helping me finally find a form of exercise i love.
