The Crossing Introduce
Welcome, Hoosiers! When it comes to finding a place to work on your health, the right environment can make all the difference. For residents in La Porte, The Crossing at 403 Tyler St offers a gym experience that prioritizes community and personal growth. This is more than a place to lift weights; it’s a space where people of all fitness levels can feel comfortable and motivated to stay active. The focus here is not on flashy displays of strength, but on providing a supportive environment for anyone who wants to avoid becoming a "couch potato."
The Crossing stands out in the local fitness landscape by creating a non-intimidating and friendly atmosphere. As one customer noted, it’s a place where "no one's showing off. Just people trying to stay active." This sentiment is a powerful testament to the gym's culture. It’s an ideal setting for beginners, seniors, or anyone who might feel overwhelmed by a traditional gym. The facility is designed to aid "everyone no matter what level you are at in life physically." This inclusive approach is what makes The Crossing a valuable asset to the community, helping people of all ages and abilities find a path to a healthier life.
A notable feature of The Crossing is the inclusion of a swimming pool. This amenity broadens the range of fitness activities available to members. Swimming is a fantastic full-body, low-impact workout that is suitable for all ages and can be especially beneficial for those with joint issues or for use in physical therapy. Having a pool on-site provides an alternative to traditional land-based exercises and adds a unique value proposition for the gym. It allows for more diverse workout routines, from laps for cardio to water aerobics or simply a refreshing way to cool down after a workout.
While one user review mentions a negative experience with the administrative side of the business, specifically regarding physical therapy billing and scheduling, it's important to separate the administrative issues from the quality of the gym itself. The same reviewer, despite their frustration with the billing process, acknowledged that they "didn’t have a complaint against the therapist," suggesting the core service and expertise were not the issue. Another review directly highlights the positive atmosphere, noting that the gym is a "nice place to go" and is filled with "people trying to stay active." This feedback reinforces that the environment for exercise is generally positive and community-focused.

What is worth choosing
For residents of the Indiana region, especially in La Porte, The Crossing is a compelling choice for a gym due to its unique combination of amenities and its strong community atmosphere. The primary reason to choose this gym is its welcoming and inclusive environment. The fact that it is known as a place where "no one's showing off" and everyone is "trying to stay active" is a powerful draw for those who feel intimidated by the high-pressure environments of some modern fitness centers. This makes it an ideal place for individuals at any stage of their fitness journey, from absolute beginners to seasoned athletes.
The on-site swimming pool is another major selling point. It provides a versatile option for cardio and strength training that is gentle on the joints, making it perfect for rehabilitation, active recovery, or just a different type of workout. This amenity sets The Crossing apart from many other local gyms that only offer traditional equipment.
While there are some administrative concerns noted in a review, it’s important to note that the review itself does not cast a negative light on the quality of the physical therapy service provided. This suggests that the core services offered are of good quality, even if the administrative processes could be improved. The accessibility features, including a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking, and restroom, are also a testament to the gym's commitment to serving all members of the community. This dedication to inclusivity makes it a truly welcoming space.
In conclusion, if you are looking for a gym in La Porte that offers a swimming pool and a supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere, The Crossing is an excellent choice. It’s a place where you can focus on your health in a community-oriented setting, surrounded by others who are on a similar journey to stay active and live a healthier life.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My son went here about three years ago after foot surgery. After we completed therapy we questioned why aren’t we receiving a bill. We couldn’t get an answer from their office. Next thing we know they are turning us over to collections and we still never saw one bill from them. We paid off the balance thinking we are all squared away, but we receive another collects letter. After several phone calls to them we received in total 0 bills and 2 collections letters. So now fast forward today. I need therapy on my knee, so I decided to go to the crossing since we didn’t have a complaint against the therapist. It takes me 2 1/2 weeks just to be seen. Then when I go to my appointment they have nobody available to see me. I ask for my order to go somewhere else and I can’t even get that from them. I ended up going to results in Michigan City. They will see me tomorrow, instead of waiting for no service. My Dr had to fax them a new order.

March 06 · Don StoneI’ve done several rounds of physical therapy here! All the staff is amazing, the gym and the pool are clean, and it seems pretty private when I go to work out.

I do believe I'm being singled out givin I am openinly gay
