★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am a 200 hour RYT graduate of The Columbus School of Yoga. Colleen and her school prepared me very well to be a yoga instructor. I came out of the program very comfortable in cueing, class sequence design, pose anatomy, understanding the history of yoga as well as many other subjects studied. Colleen is a very knowledgable and well learned teacher. She is able to very clearly and effectively teach what she knows. I highly recommended the Columbus School of Yoga.
December 24 · Gary EricksonColleen and Ali are some of the most genuine and best people I have met. Both were very knowledgeable and very forthcoming with their knowledge - by far some of the best yoga instructors I have ever had, and the best possible teachers for teachers. Beyond just the material, the best thing about this program is the people: Colleen and Ali are amazing at creating a space where I felt heard, felt and seen by them and everyone else in the program. One thing that Columbus School of Yoga offered that other programs didn't was the different studios that the school partners with. While other programs only stick at one studio, Columbus School of Yoga helped me explore 3 amazing studios around Columbus. This YTT is the gift that keeps on giving, I am still constantly looking back at the material, talking with Colleen and Ali and constantly using what I learned in the program to further my knowledge as a yogi and as a teacher. Even for people who aren't necessarily looking to teach yoga, this YTT is still beneficial to diving deeper into the practice and I would highly recommend.
December 12 · Philip BradshawI am delighted to have taken my 200-hour yoga teacher training (YTT) with Colleen and the Columbus School of Yoga (CSY). I think this YTT is appropriate for those who want to teach, those who are unsure if they want to teach, or those who don’t want to teach but want to explore yoga beyond studio classes or a home practice. The CSY thoroughly prepared me to teach asana, or the physical practice of yoga. I was given the tools to effectively and safely lead a practice from a gentle slow flow to a fiery power class. Colleen is especially gifted at posture sequencing and her formula to do so creates classes that are balanced and feel good in the body. I believe Colleen’s expertise in and attention to the importance of sequencing set the CSY apart from other teacher trainings.Aside from the physical component of yoga, the CSY provided a thorough introduction to the history and all 8-limbs of the practice. While 200 hours is simply not enough time to go in-depth on these topics, I was provided with and encouraged to explore reading material and outside resources to continually study these aspects alongside the physical practice.Personally, I left this teacher training a different person than when I arrived. I refer to it as the “gateway” to other changes and shifts in perspective that have occurred in my life. I believe this kind of experience was possible in part because of the safe space Colleen creates for her students. I also was fortunate to learn alongside a wonderful group of classmates and gained a few new friends during the process. If it’s not clear from my testimony above, I whole-heartedly recommend Colleen and the Columbus School of Yoga for anyone considering a 200-hour yoga teacher training program.
October 13 · ErikaColleen is the warmest most vibrantly caring person I have ever met. I had such a journey taking her yoga teacher training class, and learned so much about myself. I loved learning from her and also taking her classes.
