★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1SyteraYoga has been my go-to place for daily yoga classes since February 2020 and I can't say enough good things about the studio! I was initially attracted to yoga (as a complete newbie) due to a desire to improve my flexibility, strength and balance, and the studio, at the time based in McLean, VA, was recommended to me by a friend. When COVID hit the studio did an impressive job of pivoting to live virtual classes, and yoga became my lifeline throughout 2020 and 2021. SyteraYoga subsequently reopened in a lovely, light-filled, corner studio in Vienna, VA, and although I have occasionally made the trip, as it is a bit far for me, I continue to take the virtual classes -- in fact, the tremendous convenience means that there is zero excuse for me not to have a daily practice! That being said, when I have taken classes in person I have been impressed by the camaraderie amongst the many other students. SyteraYoga offers a wide range of classes, of varying intensities, and has more recently added several with weights, which are wonderful. Classes are led by wonderful, engaged instructors with a variety of approaches, all displaying a strong commitment to, and knowledge of, the practice of yoga. The studio's founder, Sytera Field, has developed a yoga-plus-Thai massage technique via a trio of Nadi Balls that are used to apply gentle pressure to the body during a variety of yoga poses. I am thrilled to have discovered SyteraYoga and am extremely pleased with the quality of classes, the variety, frequency and of course the ability to participate in live, remote classes (the studio even offers videos so I can retake a favorite class for up to three days subsequent, or if I miss a class for which I've registered, I can follow along with the video). I mentioned that flexibility is a big priority for me, but flexibility in how SyteraYoga offers its classes is also a huge plus. Now I just need to move closer to the studio so I can take more classes in-person!
June 13 · Mary GramagliaI absolutely love Sytera Yoga Studio in Vienna! It’s a warm & welcoming space that offers an excellent suite of classes and times (both in-studio and online) to accommodate busy schedules. I especially love the Nadi Method classes because, after multiple spine surgeries and breast (cancer) reconstruction, my body needed what physical therapy was missing. The Nadi Method is designed to take care of the body’s scaffolding (fascia) while enjoying the stretching, strengthening, and mindful benefits of yoga. It has been life changing for me and I am so grateful to Sytera Yoga for offering these classes in Northern Virginia.
June 18 · Kristin ParkerI’ve been with Sytera since right before the pandemic and it has been a life changer for me to be able to come to the yoga mat a few times a week and practice mindfulness and strengthen and stretch my body. Her unique Nadi ball method is the perfect mix between yoga and a massage and I love how accessible and variable the class schedule is. The teachers are amazing and her studio is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend SyteraYoga!
June 16 · Ina SoodSytera yoga is a studio where all your yoga needs will be met. The instructors all have their own style but each one brings knowledge, and routines that are great for a vigorous workout to routines that can stretch and relax you. Finding this studio in my neighborhood was the best thing for me. I add a Sytera class or two to my other workout sessions for a perfect balance. I love the Nadi ball classes and the classes by Ali. I recommend checking out this studio!
June 14 · Susan HaasI started practicing with Sytera Yoga years and years ago. The coaches are really great at calling the poses, and how they walked us through every part of the practice. Yvette is especially good. With Yvette, I always know what to do, and which side we were on!!! I also really like the Nadi Ball Method classes. The Vinyasa Strong classes are great too. I like doing classes on line so I don't have to drive half an hour to the studio. I like doing Yoga 2 time a week, so the recording of the classes is really beneficial to me – if I can get the class in.
