August 14 · Russell PierceI’d give a full 5 stars but I believe everyone has room for improvement! I’ve been to multiple gyms, and worked at LA Fitness as well. This gym has a ton of different equipment (I just wish they had a wee bit more space between them) and the outdoor section is great I’ve never been to a gym that had that, though I haven’t used it yet due to it being absolutely freezing outside. My favorite part though is that all the group classes are free with membership. I utilize that the most because other gyms I’ve gone to charge you per class even with memberships. Great gym overall. Pretty clean especially for not having round the clock employees, which means the people that come here must be responsible too which is great to see. Respect your gym.
January 08 · Jasmine Pepe** EDIT **After receiving a Chat-GPT response from the owner on my review. I called them asking why they decided to do that, to which I was completely attacked by one of the owners of the gym. Her name was Alisha, she told me that I do not matter and all of my complaints were worthless. All she did on the phone was insult me. These people are completely disrespectful and do not care about their clients. I have never been treated so poorly after committing so much time and money into an establishment.Looks great on social media; that’s about it.I’ve been coming to this gym for nearly three, maybe four years now. This place isn’t bad, I think most people probably love coming here to workout, but for myself it’s not really the case anymore. Over time, small changes were being made throughout the gym that I didn’t like but dealt with.* Towels and disinfecting spray bottles were replaced with dry, single-use wipes that do not disinfect the surface.* Free to use cubbies, coat racks, and lockers were reduced to promote purchasing a locker.* Whenever new equipment was purchased, it was always some new, unneeded machine instead of replacing the old equipment that has been around since the now-destroyed Palmerton hospital (older than the gym itself, even).* A new outdoor section was added but contains equipment that isn’t indoors or equipment (I.e. abductor / adductor) that is split both outside and inside when they should be together.* After switching to a mobile app to handle mobile entry, you now have to pay a $30 service fee to sign up for a recurring membership* They no longer pause memberships, so you will need to repay the service fee every time you sign up again. College kids like myself can no longer pause to go back to school, they must cancel and repay the $30 service fee.* The men’s locker room / bathroom situation upstairs is horrendous, and has barely been improved over my time here.* Used to splurge money on an excessive amount of single-use seasonal decorations that did nothing to actually improve the gym, not sure if this still occurs.* Membership pricing has increased over time, which is expected, but I would argue the changes made haven’t been worth the price increase.I doubt everyone has the same complaints as me, but these are just things that have come to mind over the last few years coming here. I did enjoy it, but after all the recent changes it is sad to see what this gym has become.
August 08 · CJ KernI love the classes and class instructors. But the gym policies are horrible. I tried to cancel two classes well before I would get a cancellation fee but I kept getting error messages. When I emailed them to explain the issue they said their policy would not allow them to forgive the fee. I thought I would be charged $10. $5 for each class I had tried to cancel. But then saw I would be charged $20. $10 each class as a no show because the cancellation didn’t go through. Doesn’t matter how many emails I sent trying to explain the issue I was still charged because that’s their policy. $38 a month and then having to worry about cancellation/no show fees if I can’t make a class and their app isn’t working properly. Again the instructors are great I absolutely loved the classes but I cancelled my gym membership. I think their policies suck and they aren’t fair to their customers they just care about making as much money as possible from them… which they won’t as I quit…
June 20 · Pixie The BanditSpillane's is usually pretty clean, but I feel like no matter the time of day it’s very busy. That being said, it’s usually easy to get a treadmill and get on whatever equipment you need. I am annoyed that my monthly pass (not the membership) has gone up from last month to this month. I wish there a was a college student pass that could accommodate for the entire summer and also winter break. I don’t want to have to deal with the price of my gym membership increasing every month. Especially when there’s a hiker’s package. Consider the college students please!
