I not only learn to move better physically but also become more appreciative and increasingly aware of how my body moves.I find Sonya to be an incredibly knowledgeable teacher who can break down parts of a movement to micro details that help you see simple exercises in new, eye-opening ways. For example, Sonya's instructions on how to do a simple bridge exercise are so detailed and systematic that I can now be attentive to the groups of muscles I engage in each step of doing a bridge including how and when to breathe. So when I do it on my own, I know I can do a bridge correctly and mindfully. This example may sound very simple, but the value to me is that even the basic and possibly mundane exercises become mindful movements that I understand and enjoy. And with that, I am more likely to keep exercising.As Sonya’s student I have never felt pushed to do things I may not want to or be ready for.
