Features / Highlights
Seismos Fitness Center is equipped with several high-quality features that significantly enhance the member experience and differentiate it from standard commercial gyms in the greater Washington area. These amenities support both individual workouts and team activities.
- 25-Yard Lap Pool: A substantial aquatics area featuring 10 lanes, which is available for dedicated lap swimming and opens early at 6 a.m. to accommodate early morning workouts.
- 400m Running Track: A full-size outdoor track, perfect for timed runs, distance training, and PRT preparation.
- Football Field: An expansive outdoor area available for team sports, conditioning drills, and various field-based exercises.
- Basketball Court and Volleyball Court: Designated areas for engaging in popular team sports, offering a great way to incorporate competitive, high-intensity exercise into a fitness routine.
- Free Wi-Fi: Accessible internet connectivity for members, allowing for the use of fitness apps, streaming music, or staying connected while at the facility.
- Restrooms and Locker Rooms: Essential facilities, though members are advised to be mindful of shared space etiquette. One piece of feedback noted a general lack of posted rules on decency in the locker rooms/sauna, suggesting that users should exercise personal discretion and respect for others' privacy, as an elderly man was once observed brushing up against someone stark naked without apology. Another observation noted some dust on vents and floors, and dirty lockers, though the general organization and maintenance were considered high-quality overall. This suggests that while overall maintenance is good, occasional spot-checks on less-frequented areas like overhead vents and locker interiors might be warranted.
- Knowledgeable and Friendly Staff: Personnel are consistently reported to be well-informed and provide excellent customer service, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

The facilities are specifically maintained and equipped to support the stringent requirements of military readiness. The availability of a dedicated 25-yard, 10-lane lap pool, which opens early at 6 a.m., directly supports active-duty training needs, including the free PRT swim training course—a service not typically found in civilian gyms. Similarly, the outdoor 400m running track and football field provide the precise infrastructure necessary for organized physical training and group exercises that align with operational demands. The personnel are consistently described as knowledgeable and friendly, contributing to a professional, encouraging, and well-organized setting. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is place is mostly pretty care free from what I thought. However, a few things I picked up on actually ruined my experience. Dust on all the overheads vents, floors dusty, bathrooms not that dirty but substandard. Staff are great, lockerooms don't really have any rules beyond no photos and cameras (good) but people have no decency. Will sit in the locker rooms or sauna completely naked, no shame. Should make it dressing and undressing is shower only. Had an elderly man just brush up against me stark naked no excuse me or anything. Also, lockers dirty. Other than that, pretty solid gym.

August 31 · Brett HoyerNot the biggest Navy gym but it has everything you need. Cardio, pool, strength and sports are all represented. I would like some more machine weights but there are great free weight areas.
June 21 · Daniel BetancourtGreat cardio equipment and a good selection of free weights. The service counter personnel are always on point with any question I have. Well used but never crowded. A true benefit of military service.
June 11 · Russell TownsendGreat gym that is rarely crowded. The only reason I withheld a star is due to the less than ideal hours, but hopefully that changes as the DOD moves forward towards 24 hour gyms on bases.
