Royal Brougham Pavilion Introduce
For those in the Washington region seeking a versatile and well-equipped facility for fitness, sports, and community events, the Royal Brougham Pavilion in Seattle is a prominent destination. Located on the campus of Seattle Pacific University, this venue serves not only as the primary athletics facility for the university's teams but also as a hub for a variety of fitness activities and public events. It's a place where dedicated athletes train, students stay active, and the wider community can enjoy top-tier facilities. The pavilion stands out for its spacious layout and multi-functional design, making it a valuable resource in the heart of the city.
The Royal Brougham Pavilion is a testament to a long-standing commitment to physical fitness and community engagement. While it is home to the university's men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams, its purpose extends far beyond collegiate athletics. The facility provides a welcoming environment for a variety of fitness pursuits, from individual workouts to group activities. The atmosphere is often described as energetic and vibrant, particularly during sporting events, but it also offers the space and equipment needed for a focused workout. The blend of a high-performance sports arena and a functional community gym is what makes this location a unique and compelling option for Seattle residents.
Customer feedback, though limited, offers some insights into the user experience. One reviewer praised the "great main gym for basketball," highlighting the quality of the primary court. This is a significant point for anyone looking for a reliable, full-sized court for practice or play. Another review, however, notes that the "lower gym is not bad but no seating," suggesting a difference in amenities between the two spaces. Another customer review mentioned the need for "entrance modification on west entrance" to better accommodate seniors with mobility challenges on the stairs. While the facility is used by the public, it's important to remember that as a university building, its design and primary function are to serve students and teams, which can sometimes result in unique architectural features that may not be present in a dedicated commercial gym.
The Royal Brougham Pavilion is centrally located at 3414 3rd Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119. This address places it in a convenient area of the city, making it accessible for a wide range of users, including students, athletes, and community members. Its proximity to other university facilities and main roads ensures that reaching the pavilion is a straightforward process, whether you are driving or using public transportation.
Accessibility is an important consideration for any public venue, and the Royal Brougham Pavilion has features in place to accommodate diverse needs. The facility offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance, providing a clear path for individuals with mobility challenges. A wheelchair-accessible parking lot is also available, ensuring a smooth and stress-free arrival. Inside, a wheelchair-accessible restroom is provided for convenience and comfort. However, it's worth noting the feedback about the west entrance, where some seniors have struggled with stairs. This suggests that while overall accessibility is provided, certain entry points may present challenges for some individuals. It's always a good idea to contact the facility ahead of time to confirm the best route for your specific needs.

July 08 · Matthew JonesAverage gym. Needs some kind of entrance modification on west entrance. I watched a few seniors struggle with the stairs.
March 15 · Christopher JonesEven though the pitch turf is very old and worn down to a point that you are almost playing on rubber pellets the location, security, lights, and knowing that no dogs have ever been on the field make it a great place to play.
November 13 · Matt DolgeState of the Art facility. Handicapped friendly and accessible. Plenty of parking.Currently the practice home for the Seattle Storm. The floor is perfect. The lighting is bright. The facilities are very clean and modern. It has the capacity to hold large venues. Transition from conference to game time is minimal. February 17 · Jonathan La SalleIt's challenging if you have a wheelchair. Someone has to climb up to the main doors and ask the doormen if some one can unlock the south door on Nickerson street. The wheelchair can enter there and take an elevator up to the next level and then into the main hallway and the gym. We've done this 3 times. Everyone is always most helpful but it is challenging. Oh, and there is little if any parking. No accessible parking. No wheelchair bathrooms.
