★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Spa - Important to confirm you have the right technician for the spa treatment you booked. I booked a pedicure, the barber was filling in for the regular nail tech and though she was a sweet girl, she was very clearly out of her element. Staff did not handle the situation with professionalism. Extremely disappointing experience.I left without authorizing payment, and with the understanding that a manager would reach out (I was not irate, or rude, I just did not feel the service preformed aligned with the expectations laid out on the website).A few days later I hadn't heard anything so I called & again was told the manager would call me back. Over a week later, with no call back, I was charged $74 for a terrible pedicure, with no polish (because I just wanted to leave asap). A month later I was dealing with 2 ingrown toenails that I do not doubt we're a result of this appointment (I've not had more than 2 or 3 total ever in my life).Highly recommend you do not bother with the spa in this fitness center. Seems like it could be a nice gym, but the spa does not seem to be high on management's priorities list (despite the very high pricing).I see the owner has responded by offering a gift certificate. Im not interested in returning. I would preferred to have had my concerns addressed when I presented them, and the fact that my card was charged with no contact from management or communication prior to the charge going through leaves a bad taste in my mouth. A refund would be ideal (i disputed the cc charge and i was denied reimbursement). The service staff in the spa did not give me the impression that customer experience is a real concern of theirs. The thought of setting foot in there agin is extremely unappealing to me. Thanks for responding to me via google reviews over 3 months after my visit and review! 👍
June 17 · Sara DiazSpa service quality highly dependent on the employee available at the time - be sure to request the specialist who normally preforms the service you're booking.Management not responsive. Over a week after my visit, i was Charged on my credit card for the worst pedicure I've ever had. I never heard from management, and was extremely disappointed that this establishment would charge my credit card before contacting me regarding my concerns about the quality/safety of the service received. First and last time I'll be utilizing this spa inside a gym (maybe an afterthought?)
June 08 · S. L.I had an extremely disappointing experience at the RVC spa. I paid $250 for a cut and balayage with their Master Stylist, provided clear reference photos of exactly what I wanted, and explained my expectations in detail. The result was nothing like what I asked for. My haircut is uneven, the shape is wrong, it is much shorter than I requested, and the color is incorrect. To fix this I now have to go to another salon, cut even more off which I specifically said I did not want, and pay to correct the color. I even sent photos of what I asked for and what I received yet I was only offered an in-house credit to return to the same stylist who caused the problem. A refund for at least the haircut portion would have been reasonable. This was not only a poor service outcome but also poor customer service in handling the situation. For a facility that promotes itself as high end this experience was far from it. I would love to change this review to a positive one if RVC provides good customer service and resolves the issue appropriately.Edit: I received an email from Elizabeth Asch, owner and CEO of the River Valley Club, claiming the stylist told me “that she would not be able to apply as much product as necessary to achieve the result you (I) asked for out of concern for your hairs’ health”. This is completely untrue. The stylist only said after the fact, ‘I know it’s not the color you want,’ which feels like a cover-up. They’re offering a credit to return, but I still have no desire to go back. The service and customer service were terrible, and I advise everyone to avoid this salon.
August 11 · Abigail SykesI had a very frustrating experience at RVC Spa.I only booked the massage after my husband called to confirm that Johnni would be my therapist. I was sitting right next to him during the call — he clearly asked who the massage therapist would be, and your receptionist clearly answered: “Johnni.” My husband said, “OK, then we’ll book Johnni.” There was no misunderstanding. But when I arrived, they had assigned someone else without my consent. I was told Johnni was busy, and if I didn’t want the replacement therapist, I would still be fully charged under their 24-hour cancellation policy — even though I received no service at all.I spoke to the manager, who promised to investigate and call me back. She never did. And this seems to happen often — I’ve read other reviews describing the exact same situation. The owner later replied publicly blaming “miscommunication” and claiming my husband didn’t make it clear that we wanted Johnni. That is not true — I was there during the call and everything was said clearly. Yet no one has taken responsibility, no one followed up, and no apology was ever given. To make matters worse, they used the 24-hour cancellation policy to refuse a refund, even though they were the ones who switched my therapist without notifying me. How is this fair? And I’m not alone. Look at the reviews — many customers report having their massage therapists changed without warning, and RVC has a 2.6-star rating on Yelp. This business shows a clear lack of respect, accountability, and basic customer service. Be warned. CCBA is much much better.
June 19 · Rong MaGreat facility, always clean and has a lot of equipment for different interests. Love the indoor pool and looking forward to the warm weather to try out the outdoor one. Staff are always so friendly and helpful!
