Situated on Post Road, a major thoroughfare, the gym is a straightforward drive for most locals, which is a major advantage for fitting a workout into a busy schedule.
The facility has made efforts to be accessible to a wide range of individuals. Publicly available information indicates that the gym features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. This commitment to accessibility is a positive aspect, ensuring that people with diverse mobility needs can enter and use the facility. However, customer reviews note that the facility has a key card system for entry, which can be an inconvenience during unstaffed hours, and that staffed hours are limited. Some reviews mention difficulty reaching a staff member by phone or being let in when waiting at the door during non-staffed periods.
Based on the information provided, Renegade Fitness of East Greenwich offers services focused on individualized fitness.
Personal Training: The fitness center offers personal training services. This is a key offering, allowing members to receive one-on-one coaching and customized workout plans from a professional trainer to help them achieve their specific fitness goals.
Personalized Fitness: The gym's focus on personalized fitness suggests an approach that goes beyond generic workout routines. This service aims to tailor a fitness plan to each individual's unique needs, preferences, and goals, which can be a significant benefit for those looking for a more structured and effective approach to their health.
Strength Training: Renegade Fitness provides resources for strength training. This includes equipment and space dedicated to building strength, a fundamental component of most fitness routines.
Classes and Programs: While not listed in the main provided information, some public data from affiliated sites mentions that Renegade Fitness offers a variety of group classes and programs. This includes options like Zumba, Yoga, Les Mills Body Pump, and Silver Sneakers, which can provide a social and motivating way to work out. Some sites also mention a "Renegade express circuit" designed for a quick, full-body workout.
Renegade Fitness of East Greenwich has several notable features and amenities, but it's important to consider them in light of customer feedback.
Equipment and Space: One positive aspect frequently mentioned in reviews is that the gym has enough equipment for members to use, and it's not super busy. It also includes an area for functional training with equipment like sleds and tires. The price is also noted by some as being good for this type of place. However, several reviews highlight a significant concern: the equipment is described as old, run down, or broken, with a perceived lack of effort from the staff to fix or replace it.
Amenities: The gym provides restrooms and Wi-Fi for member convenience. However, reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including water from a broken pipe and dirty showers. The sauna is also a point of contention, with members reporting it is "cold" and not reaching a high temperature. The water fountain was also noted to have been out of order for a long time.
Staffing and Policies: While the gym requires a membership, the staffed hours are noted as limited. Reviews describe the staff as "strict," "uncaring," and unorganized. They also mention that the gym is often unattended, and attempts to contact them by phone or in person can be unsuccessful. One review mentioned being charged for a membership that was supposed to be frozen and that staff were unhelpful in resolving the issue.
Overall Environment: Some members appreciate the community feel and the people they meet at the gym. However, other reviews describe the overall environment as a "dump" with no motivation to work out due to the state of the facility. A review noted that the lights are automatically turned off once the gym closes, leaving customers in the dark if they overstay.

Choosing a fitness center is a personal decision, and the experience at Renegade Fitness of East Greenwich appears to be varied based on customer reviews. The gym offers services like personal training and strength training and is described as having enough equipment and a good price point. For a member who values a good price and a less crowded gym, this could be a potential option, especially for those who are highly self-motivated and do not rely on a lot of staff interaction or fancy amenities. The presence of a key card system also allows for entry outside of staffed hours, which some members might find convenient.
However, it is crucial to consider the widespread negative feedback from multiple customer reviews. The concerns about old and broken equipment, lack of staff, unresponsiveness to maintenance issues, and poor customer service are significant. Reviews suggest that a lack of investment in the facility and its upkeep may be an ongoing issue. This feedback indicates that while the gym may have the potential to be a good fitness center, its current state, as described by customers, may not meet the expectations of someone looking for a clean, well-maintained, and professionally managed facility. For many local users in Rhode Island, there may be better options available in the area that provide a higher quality of service and a more positive workout environment. It is always recommended to visit a gym and try a day pass, if available, before committing to a membership.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This gym has enough things for people to do however, they are old, run down, and broken. Staff does not want to fix it or replace it. They either leave it like that, or put a sign for a long time that it’s “out of order”.Very unorganized gym. Almost no staff. What happens if this gym has an emergency? They likely won’t do much. The staff is a strict uncaring staff. They have lots of policies for things however, they don’t do anything. They don’t wanna fix the steam room. Took along time to fix the water fountain. I onetime asked the front desk when they plan on fizzing the steam room, there response was “never, very expensive, a lot of work, and we need to hire a plumber to fix it”. This shows the lack of money this gym has right now. They need to hire staff to help this place succeed. They don’t want staff at the front desk nor no trainersThis gym should be a 24/7 gym. You have to swipe a card to get in rather than just walk in.This gym has been going down for a while. Once a customer is past time when it closes, all lights turn off and the place gets really dark.I was told I can put my membership on freeze, however it was not on freeze. It was still active and I got charged. I had to cancel it right away and not get charged. They did nothing.Another thing that is bad about the gym is they have the coldest sauna ever. The hottest it has ever hit was 125 degrees Fahrenheit. They probably don’t wanna fix the heat inside the sauna. They are staffed very limited hours that if you call the place, they may not answer. If you try waiting at the door for a worker to let you in, it may not happen. The positive things I have about this gym is the customers you can meet here, has enough equipment to use, and it’s not super busy. The price is pretty good for this type of place. You can find better gyms than this
August 09 · Raul PortoThis place is a dump. I don’t know how they don’t get shut down. I recently moved to East Greenwich and I signed up for a day pass to check it out, but when I showed up for my appointment, nobody was there. They even gave me a phone # to call if I had issues entering, so I called several times for 30 minutes but nobody answered. Finally, I was able to enter with a member, and the equipment is broken or old. The place is dirty, there is water coming down from broken pipe, showers are not very clean. There is no motivation to workout in a place like this one. Save your money and don’t pay their overpriced membership because there are better places in town.
August 15 · Carlos SaraviaIt has equipment that I like that you don't find at other gyms like a sled and tires to flip. That said, it is an unhygienic pit.Today, I was there and had cut my hand while picking up a 45 lb plate. Turns out the plate had a shard of glass in it from apparently being put on top of some broken glass that had not been cleaned up properly from a still shattered mirror on the wall. I went to find a paper towel to put over the cut but ALL the paper towel dispensers in the gym were empty. So you know the equipment is not being wiped down. They were empty the day before as well. I went to tell a staff member but they were not staffed even though it was during staffed hours.
August 01 · Tom BarbarichI’ve been a member since 2012 when it was OSHF. When ownership changed to renegade and the facility received new paint, new machines and racks, and an updated layout I was hopeful that this gym would continue to be an incredible gym at an incredible price. This place has unfortunately turned to a POS.They installed a 24 hour door that requires members to swipe their card at the door to even get in but the gym doesn’t operate 24 hours so this just adds hassle to members who’s key card won’t work or forgotten at home and the hours of operation are not ideal. Much of the equipment needs maintenance done to it, the machines are terrible and we’re clearly selected by someone that doesn’t workout. The carpet has been bolted down into the concrete in the areas where it was coming up which looks terrible, the bathrooms don’t work, the showers are gross, they don’t have locks on one of the stalls, there’s been a urinal that hasn’t worked for a year, the paper towels and cleaner for cleaning the equipment is rarely restocked. The list is even longer but I think my point is made. This is all with a raised monthly fee from what it used to be, which although cheap ($32.99/month) compared to other options is not equal to what you’re getting from this place. On top of all that there is a yearly maintenance fee, meanwhile there has been little to no maintenance done on anything other than vacuuming in years. Things were slightly better when the place was consistently staffed and they weren’t trying to sell the place, now this gym has somehow found room to get worse and has hit actual rock bottom. I would love to stay here and I’m sad to leave because this gym made me learn to like fitness and lifting weights when I joined at 18 years old, and I’ve been hear through college, career changes, relationships, getting married, having a child, I’ve made friends with many people here, etc. it’s been a major part of my life. I’ll be cancelling my membership and going to a new gym after 13 years, at least then my money will go towards keeping a gym clean and maintained. If I had the money I would gladly purchase this place myself and turn it back to what it was when it was OSHF.
July 15 · David-Aaron HindI was going to Planet Fitness before, but the place is really crowded and expensive. The Edge is also very crowded. But this place is awesome. A little dead but that’s okay.
