Preggo Pilates @ EHS Pilates Studio Introduce
For women in California, navigating the physical changes of pregnancy and the postpartum period can be a unique and challenging journey. While many traditional fitness centers offer generic classes, there's a growing need for specialized programs that understand the specific needs of a pregnant or new mother's body. A dedicated sports complex or studio that focuses on this niche offers more than just a workout; it provides a safe, knowledgeable, and supportive environment. These specialized centers, like Preggo Pilates, are run by instructors who have a deep understanding of prenatal and postnatal anatomy. They know how to modify exercises to ensure safety for both mother and baby, and they can provide tailored guidance for issues like diastasis recti, pelvic floor health, and postural changes. This kind of specialized care is invaluable, helping women feel strong, prepared, and confident throughout their motherhood journey. Choosing a program like this means you are not just exercising; you are building a foundation of strength and awareness that will serve you during labor, recovery, and beyond.
Preggo Pilates is a premier, specialized program operating within the well-established EHS Pilates Studio, a long-standing institution in San Francisco since 1991. This program stands out for its unique focus on a safe yet challenging workout designed specifically for the needs of women in all stages of motherhood. The approach goes beyond simple exercise, incorporating a deep understanding of anatomy, labor preparation, and postpartum recovery. The studio’s partnership with EHS Pilates since 2004 provides a professional and well-equipped setting for these classes. As a program founded by a mother for mothers, Preggo Pilates is infused with empathy and firsthand knowledge of the motherhood journey, creating a uniquely supportive and understanding environment.

Preggo Pilates @ EHS Pilates Studio offers a range of services tailored to meet the needs of mothers at different stages of their journey. The program is designed to provide comprehensive support through every phase.
- Prenatal Pilates: These classes are for expectant mothers and focus on safe core work, pelvic floor awareness, upper body strength, and postural alignment. Using mixed equipment, the classes also incorporate breathing techniques for labor and delivery, and stretching to ease common pregnancy discomforts like tight hips and back tension.
- Postnatal Pilates: Designed for new mothers, these classes help re-integrate and reconnect the core and pelvic floor. Early postnatal classes, often "Baby & Me," are gentle and focus on relieving aches and tension from carrying and feeding a newborn. Intermediate postnatal classes offer a more challenging workout to help mothers build back strength and tone.
- Private Sessions and Specialization: Preggo Pilates also provides private sessions to address specific concerns, such as healing diastasis recti (abdominal separation), pelvic floor issues, and C-section recovery. These one-on-one sessions ensure a highly personalized and effective approach to healing and strengthening.

Preggo Pilates @ EHS Pilates Studio Reviews
I went to Preggo Pilates weekly during my pregnancy and credit it with my fast, relatively easy labor and recovery. I felt completely prepared for the physical aspects of pushing. I was also physically strong and felt good in my third trimester, thanks in large part to the stretching, release work, and strength training from pilates. Really looking forward to attending the post-natal classes!
