Excellent staff members at this location! They keep the facility clean and greet everyone. There's tons of up-to-date equipment. Individual shower rooms/rest rooms, which helps eliminate peeping toms and photo taking weirdos. I visit a lot of Planet Fitnesses in Philadelphia and surrounding counties. This is the best one thus far.

Complaint about staff behavior at Planet Fitness – July 12, 2025Today my teenage son came to your gym with his trainer for a regular workout session. As part of their training, they were doing shadowboxing — no gloves, no bags, no sparring, just simple cardio movement. They weren’t loud, they weren’t bothering anyone, and the gym was almost empty.Out of nowhere, a staff member came over and rudely told them to stop, saying “you’re not allowed to box here,” and then basically kicked them out. There was no explanation, no professionalism, and absolutely no respect. My son’s membership is fully paid, he was under the supervision of a professional trainer, and he was doing nothing wrong.This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable.If boxing or certain exercises aren’t allowed, where are the signs? Where in the rules does it say this? Why humiliate paying customers instead of having a respectful conversation?Your gym calls itself a “judgement-free zone,” but what happened today was the complete opposite — disrespect, aggression, and zero communication.I’m demanding a proper explanation and action taken toward the staff involved. If we don’t hear back, we will file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and share this experience publicly on social media and review sites.Mother of the memberPhiladelphia, PA

As a former employee this establishment is the worst to workout and work. The management is the worst. I used to work overnight and I would workout during my break at 3:00 AM(eventhough it's only 30 minutes and there's no one at the gym) a little later the manager called me and said that I can't workout anymore and she had to valid point to prove when I asked why. I even asked her that can I lockout for an hour as my break and she still said no and her words were "working out is not a valid reason for you to clock out for break". Couple days later I bought this up and one of the key values planet fitness goes by is to motivate people and what is a better way to motivate people by showing yourself as an example.. the Assistant manager words were "well in another universe it might be possible but not here" She also said that "When new customers walk in and they see a muscular person up front, they will get intimidated and it's bad for the business." That's literally body shaming people especially the employees who is trying to be healthy, and I was wondering to myself as what happened to the "no judgment free zone" that PF is going by... and that was the last thing for me and I quit. A couple days later when I came in during regular hours to workout, instead of downgrading my membership, they canceled it entirely. That is such a immature thing for a management to do. I'm not even sure how they go into a position as they're in now. They already have bad reviews about them couple of comments down. Please don't come here as long as they're the managers. They don't know how to treat their employees or the members properly.
