pilatibodi Introduce
In the vibrant and fast-paced world of New York City, finding a fitness studio that offers personalized attention and a truly supportive atmosphere can be a challenge. That's where pilatibodi, a dedicated Pilates studio located on the Upper West Side, shines. This is not a massive, crowded sports complex but a specialized, boutique space designed for focused and effective body conditioning. As a women-owned business, pilatibodi has cultivated a warm and welcoming environment where every client, from beginners to advanced practitioners, feels seen and supported. The studio's philosophy centers on using Pilates to create balance, heighten concentration, and build a deeper connection to one’s own body. It’s an approach that goes beyond just physical exercise, focusing on the mental and holistic benefits of mindful movement.
The unique selling point of pilatibodi is its commitment to intimacy and quality over quantity. With only a handful of reformers in their studio, they ensure that every class feels like a private session, with ample opportunity for hands-on instruction and personalized feedback. This is a refreshing change from larger studios where you might get lost in the crowd. As one customer review highlights, the small class size "is intimate and there is lots of opportunity for hands-on instruction." This close-knit setting allows instructors to be especially sensitive to individual needs, whether you're recovering from an injury, working on specific aches and pains, or just beginning your fitness journey.
For many New Yorkers, Pilates is a perfect workout for the city's unique lifestyle. It is a low-impact exercise that offers immense benefits in strength, flexibility, and posture—essential for those who spend long hours commuting or at a desk. Pilatibodi taps into this need with expert instruction that feels both challenging and safe. The studio’s founder and lead instructor, Amanda, is praised by clients for her "extensive knowledge of body function" and her ability to "challenge me to become stronger and more flexible, both in person and online." This level of expertise ensures that every session is not just a workout, but a step toward a more functional and pain-free body.
Beyond the high-quality instruction, pilatibodi stands out for its inclusive community. Identifying as both LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safe space, the studio has made it a priority to be a place where everyone feels comfortable and respected. In a city as diverse as New York, this commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere is a significant and important feature. This is a studio that understands the importance of feeling safe and accepted, allowing clients to fully focus on their workout without any distractions.
pilatibodi is perfectly situated in the heart of the Upper West Side at 200 W 93rd St #1F, New York, NY 10025, USA. This prime location makes it incredibly convenient for residents of the neighborhood and those who work nearby. The studio is easily accessible via public transportation, with several subway lines and bus routes serving the area. Being just a short walk from Central Park and major avenues, it's an ideal spot for a pre-work, lunch, or post-work session.

pilatibodi specializes in a focused and effective approach to Pilates, offering services that cater to individual attention and modern convenience.
Private Pilates Session: This is the core offering of the studio. Private sessions provide a tailored, one-on-one experience with a dedicated instructor. These sessions are perfect for clients with specific goals, physical limitations, or those who simply prefer a more personal setting to deepen their practice. The use of apparatus like the reformer, chair, and cadillac allows for a full-body, customized workout.
Onsite Services: All private sessions and small group classes are conducted at their physical studio location. This allows clients to use the specialized equipment and benefit from the hands-on instruction that is central to the pilatibodi experience.
Online Classes: Recognizing the need for flexibility, pilatibodi also offers online classes. This service is a major highlight for clients who may travel, have a busy schedule, or simply prefer to work out from the comfort of their home. As one client review notes, the instructor is skilled at helping them "become stronger and more flexible, both in person and online," demonstrating the effectiveness of their virtual offerings.
Small Group Classes: While the focus is on private sessions, the studio also holds small group classes with a limited number of reformers. This provides the best of both worlds: the camaraderie of a group workout with the personal attention usually reserved for one-on-one sessions.
Beyond its core services, pilatibodi has several standout features that make it a premier choice for Pilates in New York.
Intimate Class Size: As noted by a customer, with "only 5 reformers," the classes are intimate, ensuring that instructors can provide personalized and hands-on guidance to each client. This is a significant advantage over larger, more crowded studios.
Expert and Caring Instruction: The instructors, particularly Amanda, are highly praised for their extensive knowledge and supportive approach. Customers describe the guidance as both "wonderful" and "especially sensitive" to their individual needs, which is crucial for a safe and effective workout.
Inclusive and Safe Space: The business proudly identifies as a women-owned, LGBTQ+ friendly, and transgender safe space. This creates a welcoming environment where all clients can feel comfortable and empowered.
Convenient Planning and Payments: To ensure a smooth experience, the studio requires appointments, which can be booked in advance. This system helps manage class sizes and provides a seamless experience for clients. They also accept a variety of payment methods, including credit cards and debit cards.
Clean and Well-Maintained Space: Amenities include a restroom, and the studio is described by patrons as a clean and well-kept environment. This attention to detail contributes to a positive and comfortable experience for all.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Wonderful instructor (Amanda) and class. With only 5 reformers the class is intimate and there is lots of opportunity for hands-on instruction. Amanda was especially sensitive to this being my first class post-birth and gave me plenty of support. I will definitely be returning.
April 27 · Sarah Moss RiceI’ve been a devoted Pilatibodi client ever since they opened. Every session, Amanda uses her extensive knowledge of body function to challenge me to become stronger and more flexible, both in person and online. Rowing is my primary sport and she has also helped me address the aches and pains I incur and I always leave feeling better than when I arrived!
March 02 · Jessica SabatBeautiful, clean studio with friendly, fun, knowledgeable staff! I am new to pilates but Laura had a way of explaining things to me that I could really understand. She corrected without any judgement, knew when she could push me and when I'd gone as far as I could go. Would highly recommend to a friend!
October 27 · Jennifer LassondeI met Amanda when I was 56-years-old. When I met her, it was hard for me to do simple everyday things like tying my shoes easily. I felt stiff, weak, and tired and attributed this to aging. In 2 months I’ll turn 66 and after working with Amanda for almost a decade, I feel strong and flexible and young at heart. I have occasional aches and pains but Amanda has given me the tools to resolve most issues. This morning I had some lower back pain. Amanda has shown me exercises that have made my spine supple. I did those movements on my own and the back pain went away immediately! Joint pain (hips, ankles, shoulders, heels) that used to be chronic pops up only occasionally these days and when it does I use the movements I learned with Amanda and am feeling better within a day. I can say without any exaggeration at all that Pilatibodi has changed my life and I’m profoundly grateful.
March 01 · Cheryl WadeI can't say ENOUGH about Laura at Pilatibodi! What started out as me stumbling into the studio to "try our this Pilates thing" turned into a 5 year fitness and wellness journey. Laura has been there every step of the way, becoming like family. From getting me "wedding day ready" to kicking me into gear to shed the baby weight, Laura has helped me find a deeper connection to my body and movements and strengthen and tone in ways I was unable to achieve during my typical guy routine. The studio is bright and open with modern equipment, and an edgy flair...definitely good vibes! Book as session and bring a friend!!
