Orangetheory Fitness Introduce
For residents across Michigan, finding a workout routine that is not only effective but also engaging and sustainable can be a challenge. That’s where Orangetheory Fitness Detroit, located on West Grand Boulevard, has emerged as a premier destination. More than just a gym, Orangetheory offers a unique, one-hour, full-body workout that is backed by science, tracked by technology, and guided by expert coaches. The entire program is designed with a single, inspiring goal in mind: to help you live a longer, more vibrant life—or as their members say, "More Life."
The core of the Orangetheory experience is heart rate-based interval training. By wearing a proprietary heart rate monitor, members see their effort levels displayed in real-time on screens throughout the studio. This immediate feedback helps users adjust their intensity to target the "Orange Zone"—where your heart rate is elevated to a level that creates the "Afterburn" effect, or Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC). This scientific approach means you continue to burn calories for up to 36 hours after your class ends, maximizing the efficiency of your time spent in the studio.
This Detroit location has cultivated a reputation for its warm and welcoming community. Members from all ages and different stages of their fitness journey praise the A+ coaches and friendly staff, noting that the studio and its state-of-the-art equipment are consistently clean. Whether you are a dedicated athlete or taking your first fitness class in years, Orangetheory Detroit provides the motivation, structure, and support you need to achieve your goals in an energetic, fast-paced setting.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love OTF Detroit! The staff is great from the coaches to everyone who works at the front desk. I've been coming here for a year and I love every class. They have cultivated a warm and welcoming community. There's folks here at many ages and different places in their fitness journey. It's great to have such an intense workout where anyone is welcome.
March 29 · Linda WardA+ coaches and staff. The coaches are knowledgeable, motivating, and fun. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The studio and equipment are always clean. I love the variable and fast-paced workouts.
August 20 · Veronica GordenVery knowledgeable and welcoming staff / coaches! Good variety of workouts and will support you at all levels of fitness. Shoutouts to Sydney, Will, and Joni for always keeping up high energy. Also great studio management. Clean, fair pricing, and fun rotating event schedule.
September 12 · Joe KonenI did not like this place. No spa, no hydro chairs, no massage, and no free snacks yet they charge $170/mo for their best plan and another $120 for their heart monitor. Ridiculous. I went to ONE class and have been in pain ever since. All they offer is the water rower, treadmill, the bike and weights in the routine for an intense 60-minute workout. I think this isn't for the beginner. More for someone who already has been to a few gyms and likes to do the most for an hourEven though they say you can go at your own pace in fact you are being pushed to keep going. It was constant movement and many transitions. Also equipment wasn't wiped off as frequently due to the many transitions and I didn't like that. Some sweat more than others it was gross. I did really well but my legs haven't felt the same since. They say the work out is backed by science and what you are paying for is the trainer basically but it's not worth it TO ME. The staff was friendly. People in the class were ok I guess not the vibe I wanted.
March 19 · Miss Shayna ThomasI have been to five different Orange Theory Fitness studios, and I will not go back to this one. There are no directions given on where to park or how to enter the studio when it is your first time arriving. I arrived early and could find no directions for entering the studio, which resulted in my being 10 minutes late for the class, and the class removed from my app. Then I was still charged a late cancellation fee, even after I called and explained the situation. An unlimited membership is already $170/month in 2024, but OTF has to get their $12 late fee. I received a text a day ahead of time reminding me to bring a credit card to put on file but received no information about how to enter the studio. There should be way more information given to first time attendees to a new studio that is more complicated to enter than your normal studio. Suffice to say, I will stick to the other studios in the metro detroit area and avoid the Detroit studio in the future.
