Orangetheory Fitness Introduce
For those in Scottsdale, Arizona, seeking a gym experience that is both scientifically driven and highly energetic, Orangetheory Fitness in Old Town has become a prominent name. This studio is built on a unique concept that combines a full-body workout with heart rate-based interval training, designed to push members into the "Orange Zone" to achieve excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), or the "afterburn" effect. The focus is on a structured, 60-minute session that blends strength training and high-energy cardiovascular work. For locals looking for a gym that removes the guesswork from their workout and provides a guided, motivating experience, Orangetheory offers a clear path to achieving fitness goals. The workouts are scalable for all fitness levels, making it a viable option for everyone from seasoned athletes to those new to exercise.
The local fitness scene in Arizona is competitive, and Orangetheory Fitness has built a strong reputation based on its unique workout model. The energy and expertise of the coaches are frequently cited as a major positive, with a review highlighting a coach's ability to "lead and motivate," provide "form correction," and even curate an engaging music playlist. The workout itself is a draw for many, who appreciate the structured approach that combines treadmills, rowing machines, and free weights. However, the experience can vary. Some members have reported significant issues with account management and customer service, including problems with billing and difficulty with class booking. One particularly negative review details a frustrating experience with unresolved account issues, unhelpful staff, and being charged after an attempted cancellation. This suggests that while the workout itself is often highly praised, the administrative and customer service aspects may not always meet expectations. For potential members, this indicates the importance of carefully navigating the sign-up process and being proactive in communicating with the studio's management.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Old town is one of my fave OTF studios. Today I had Coach Taylor and her ability to lead and motivate does not go unnoticed. Not to mention… the 2007 bangers she was playing. I’m here for it. I appreciate her form correction and cueing in the weight room. My hammies will thank you tomorrow! Thanks team :)
April 10 · Brooke VaughnLet me start off by saying I loved Orange Theory. I have over 500 classes completed at a California location. When I moved to Scottsdale I decided to give this gym a shot a signed up.Apparently there was some kind of issue with my account? Not sure, but also not my problem to fix. I could log in, but it wouldn’t allow me to book classes and it actually said I hadn’t paid and didn’t have a membership. I asked the gym 5 times to fix it, and even had them use a new email. After 5 times they couldn’t fix it.To take a class, my only option was to just show up and ask to be let in. It was frustrating but oh well. But then I showed up to class and it was full, and I was frustrated because I couldn’t book my spot on the app. After that, I said this was too much. It shouldn’t be this hard to fix a simple issue, I jumped through all the hoops they asked. When I called to cancel, the front desk lady SCREAMED at me said that I didn’t have the right to cancel, and she said it was all my fault for confusing the system with my emails. I told her that because they never performed on their end of the contract, that it’s not a valid contract and they need to cancel. Her response? She hung up on me. And today I checked my credit card and they freaking charged me again. The person on the phone never cancelled my account. But yet my account says I’m not an active member.Horrible experience. 0/10 stars. Such a scam, and the rudest OTF staff member working the desk. Thankfully my credit card company agreed that this is fraud and will get all my money back.
January 18 · Justine PhillipsonSuch a frustrating experience with this location. When I signed up for my membership, they assured me that I would be able to change my payment before the next cycle (I was using a work card), before the due date, I called again to confirm that the payment was changed, and she said it was. Fast-forward, they still debited the wrong card that I called to confirm it was changed from. I called on Monday and spoke with a front desk person that assured me, the problem would be fixed that day and that somebody would reach out to help me get a refund, nobody did. Three days later, I had to call back because I had heard nothing, and there had not been a refund, and I was told once again that somebody would be reaching out to me, yet nobody has. Such a bummer that once payment is collected they forget a person is on the other side.
January 23 · Mckenzie MyersAbsolutely loved this Orange Theory location. I joined for two months while visiting Scottsdale. The front desk staff are all so welcoming and the trainers are personable and very knowledgeable. I strongly suggest taking Katie’s and Renee’s classes- not only do they have awesome playlists but they encourage you to push your limits. If I was a permanent resident this would definitely be my go to spot.
January 27 · Amar P.I have gone to the Old Town location On / Off since 2020. I like all the staff / coaches, everyone is super nice. Coaches are very thorough and helpful. Great atmosphere and good vibes, always. It’s a comfortable environment.
